Dog Park: what do users think?

Darren Nowakowski: I go here on a daily basis with my best friend. She has the freedom to run around and many friends to play with depending on the time we go. The morning sunrises are beautiful with a light mist over the field. The field is well cared for and always groomed with water and waste baskets in three locations. Hope to see you there!

Craig Woodward: One of the last fenced dog parks in the city. A former golf course, this dog park is a good option when it's not too cold and windy. On windy days during the winter this place is unpleasant. Lots of parking at the Safeway across the street. No facilities of any kind beyond garbage cans and a couple of old picnic tables.Dog-friendliness: Only 3 sides are fenced, you'll need to make sure your dog has good recall.

Aaron Sutherland: Big open park for a good run.

Александр Смирнов: Huge area, the dog has a place to walk

Guy Dreger: Excellent park

Leah McBride: Dog-friendliness: Excellent place to let your dogs run free and make friends with other dogs. My angels know the word park and lose their minds. Make sure your pups are licensed, I was stopped there last summer by a couple of provincial employees, looking for unlicensed dogs. Large fine if you don't have one.Excellent place!!

Amit Bhalala: peace

andrew cull: Lots of room for dogs to run around

Tim Walden: Great park summer and winter!

Cole Taylor: How would a dog park be any less then 5 stars?

Maple Grove Dog Park: what do users think?

shakila atayee: The best dog park.

Lydia Stepanovic: Even the cat loves this park! Can’t go wrong.

Rachel-Lynn Normand: Playground: Everything was very beautiful and folks were friendly. Playground is cute. You can have a picnic at their picnic area. Beautiful views all around.

Siobhan Boughen: to have a fun adventure. I started coming here this summer and I just love the mix of scenery: huge open fields, a forest with tons of little trails to explore, and of course the Red River, which borders much of the park. Almost all people and dogs I have met have been really nice and overall the park is really clean. I find the amount of fencing is perfectly adequate to contain my dog who does not stray that far from me.

Jeff Davis: Very nice location. I will be back.

Tabitha M: Beautiful, well maintained park. My boy, Sugi, loved walking here and meeting loads of other friendly dogs.Dog-friendliness: While this is an off leash park, if you're dog is still learning to be off leash and struggles with recall, you should be aware that not all sides are fenced in.

Mike Wiebe: Great place to run, sniff, and meet new furry friends

Alva Gao: This is the best dog park ever!

N M: Amazing dog park, so much space and other dogs. My dogs had a blast, great for small and big dogs.

Mike Mcmanaman: Frank, my lab, and I loved taking a stroll through the trails .. people were so friendly and had great interactions with other dog owners.. got to meet other cool breeds of dogs .. so great .. off leash park ..

carissa zhou: Ultimate frisbee games here are great! Lots of open space and well maintained fields.

Megan Braun: Went for the first time in probably 10 years. I love that the area is mostly fenced now with lots of trails. I would love to see some trail maps throughout.

Dakota Community Centre Adult Hockey League: My dog Maggie loves this park !! its her happy place!!

Alexey Obedinsky: Well maintenance huge area.

Jon Waldman: Very clean this early in the year, well maintained.

Brenda Barron: Great place for my girl to mingle with other pups..

Dustin Cochrane: Wide open space. Good slight lines.

Everton Bonorino: Fantastic place for our furry kids!!!!

Kelly Gallant: Huge dog park, has mostly large dogs but some small dogs too. Has a few trees but not many, mostly open space.Playground: There is no playground, it is for dogs only, children shouldn't really go if looking to play.Dog-friendliness: It is a dog park only.

Fiona Anthes: Nice and big, well fenced, and not a lot of traffic noise or fumes since it’s by the transit way. Could use more vegetation - it’s pretty much all open so no windbreaks, shade, or obstacles for the dogs to chase each other around. Would also really benefit from a dog fountain, kinda weird that they built a new park with no water for the dogs or humans.

Tamara: Great space! It's open so there's no barrier from the wind but it's a very big area for the dogs to run

Ranj Rai: Had a great time with our 4 legged friend 🐕

MaryAnn Kokan-Nyhof: I took my 2 year old lab husky cross for an off leash walk . I wasnt sure how it would go but She really enjoyed herself , and seemed to fit in.There were many other dogs and owners, we walked on the frozen creek for a little over 2 kilometers. I was a bit dismayed at how much dog poop was visible all around the parking lot area but once we got on the trail it was less of a problem. Some owners kept their dogs leashed while walking , but most didn't. The dogs seemed to have their own style of meet and greet, I didn't see any that were overly aggressive to each other. A good place to go for exercise for both of us !Dog-friendliness: Off leash park with acres of room to run

Bret Gnutel: A good place.

jack moar: Pretty cozy park with a lake, you can walk even without dogs.

Kateryna Chobotar: It's nice here

Tatiana Shiriaeva (Tanya): I and my dogs love this place ❤️

Danielle Kayahara: Frequented by big and small dogs alike, this park is just big enough for dogs to avoid those they don't want to play with and small enough that attentive owners can't lose track of their furry friend. Plus there's a water despenser available in the summer to keep the pups hydrated! Opens at 7am and closes at 10pm, I assume to prevent noise complaints.

Maria Kristabelle Gaddi: Located in downtown winnipeg, this fenced off-leash dog park is a good 5-10 minute walk to the forks. The park has dog waste bins and water dispenser. I've seen small dogs and big dogs in the park. Everyone is friendly! There are plenty of seating for us humans too.

Kari heinrichs: Very nice sized park . Nice location.

Herman Rabkin: Super-nice smaller sized, enclosed park for canines! Lots of seating for owners, water bowl/bottle refill station, nice entry/exit enclosure to prevent escapees, almost entirely covered in AstroTurf, and a clean facility overall! Great for smaller pooches who don't need a huge racetrack sized property to stretch their legs. Not sure if this is always the case but there were half a dozen or so steel bowls throughout the park for the dogs to quench their thirst, which was a nice touch, though if you don't like the idea of Rover sharing his water with the other pooches, might be a good idea to bring a small collapsible bowl for your own pup just to play it safe. Will definitely return and recommend to other dog owners! The only reason this wasnt a 5 star rating was the lack of easy and/or free parking otherwise I was very impressed!

Anthony Kornelsen: Great park in most weather as the grass is synthetic. Usually pretty busy, with lots of well trained dogs. There are occasionally dogs that are a bit aggressive but they are usually removed from the park as soon as they become aggressive.

Hooman Hematian: A great place to hang out if you love dogs or you have dogs.Dog-friendliness: There is a proper gate and everything is ok in this small playground for dogs.

Abby Shotton: Absolutely love bringing my pup here! Everyone is very nice and not too talkative but you can always strike up a conversation. There is a water station for water bottles and bowls which is amazing and everything is fenced in so no one gets out. There’s a double gate system to bring dogs in and out. The environment is awesome and there’s a little ice cream shop across the road called Fete which is delicious! Highly recommend bringing your dog here!!Dog-friendliness: It’s an off the leash dog park in downtown Winnipeg

cain Kuri: Nice park. interesting with fake grass.

Maria Ocampo: The peaceful breezy ambiance in the park will one want to stay and hang around. The park has lots of trees around, and so the shades. We appreciate the benches under the trees. The proximity to The Forks and Fort Garry Hotel is an added interest.Restrooms: The lack of restrooms will make it difficult to stay longer.

Nicole Catherine: So much fun! Great place for your dog and also to chat with other dog owners! My little guy was only 9 weeks old so it was new but very exciting I can’t wait to go back!!!!

Jennifer mead: If you're ever able to catch Bright Side Kitchen here DO IT! Also Fete ice cream is right by there with amazing ice cream

Lee Rushford: Friendly dogs

Sheila Sinclair: I love going for walks to Westview, beautiful... A must see, for anyone that wants to relax, sit or walk the park.

Trevor Wiebe: Broken beer bottles and garbage; my dogs were constantly finding garbage. There was an aggressive dog and had to leave. The gate was closed. Nice views. Top is mowed surrounded with overgrown grass as a present barrier.

T C: Amazing dog park. Dogs and people were great. So glad we took our dog there. Will be going back.

Kyle Vezina: It is beautiful here. Plenty of open area for the dogs to run and play. Well kept and very clean. There is no fencing so you must be able to control your dog. But wonderful space to throw a ball or toy for them. Plenty of dogs visit the park so great place for them to be social.Dog-friendliness: It is wonderful for dogs.

Lindsay Baum: Dog-friendliness: Off leash dog park but be careful as there is no fences and it is surrounded by back roads. Rarely has anyone else there.

Katie Rimmer: I really like this park. First time scoping it out tonight, kept my doggo on leash, because the geese and streets being so close. I found the dog owners that were there very respectful of that and even leashed their dogs when passing by! We’ll be back for sure!

Bernhard Schmidt: Really beautiful

Nadia Tuhari-Turner: Great park, a solid 4. My personal favourite but I can't take every family dog there because there's geese sometimes and theres no fence surrounding the area. My dalmatian listens well, sometimes is tempted to chase the wildlife but doesn't, so overall we love the place. And the sunsets are gorgeous!

Darrell English: A nice spot with easy water access for pups who would rather splash and wade than actually SWIM.

June H. Gibson: Nice and quiet in the summer evenings and weekends. Plenty of parking and room to run. No fence but you live with it. Its better than leased on concrete sidewalks.

Dieudonne Nche Nchinda: Great

Bob Madams: Nice place to walk the dog. Not too busy.

Erin Lynn Borg: Great spot and never overcrowded, traffic's minimal on main road adjacent to park. Ducks and geese in the summer and the pond freezes over all winter doubling the play space. Tim Hortons is walking distance. Bench in the shade and garbage available

L Louise: Our pup had a great time as a newbie! Will definitely come back to see his furry friendsDog-friendliness: Has opened gated areas for big and small dogs

scottiblasto: Lots of gaps underneath the fence. If you have a small dog I would beware of that.

Shannon Hill: Duke was so happy to see other dogs and it's fenced on Wich is good

Pauline Sherk: Friendly people awesome place for dogs and people clean up after their dog so it stays clean love this dog park

Cw Wc: Like having the fenced in place for my dog to run around. The separated big and small sides are great too

Brittany Lamontagne: and my friends and their dog. I found there was plenty of space for my little guys to roam around. My friends have a medium sized dog and she enjoyed the space as well.I like that there are two separate, fully fenced areas for smaller dogs and larger dogs.My recommendations for improvement would be to have poo bag dispensers and attached little trash cans around the park. There were absolutely no spare poo bags and the garbage is outside the fenced area…which seems really weird to me.It was also shmushy and damp from the previous rain and my friends and I both had the same complaint about the main entrances to either fenced area; the area when you enter the parks after getting into the double gated area were sooooooo muddy. You could barely leap over it without getting covered in mud. My recommendation would be to have lime stone or some sort of rock at those entrances so that, regardless of rain, you could get into the grassy area without you or your pups getting covered. I’m at an apartment complex that has a doggy run completely filled with rock and it’s awesome. Easy clean up and maintenance with the dogs. I’m not suggesting the entirety of this park get covered in rock, but the entrances alone would make a huge difference.
