Cal, Josh, Mike and Scout communicated with us throughout the process and we never felt that we were asking too many questions or that they never had time for us. Our build was somewhat unique in that we were living next door to our house under construction and they allowed me the opportunity to be very involved. Mike McCarroll was patient with my involvement and answered all my questions. Mike gets high marks for how much he cares about doing things right and making sure that you are happy with the finished product. I think we worked well together and it made the process more enjoyable because we made it personal. One more important thing to consider, I was fortunate to meet every single contractor that set foot on the work site and every single contractor to a person had very high marks for Dueck Builders and how they conduct themselves as people and as a company, that says a lot. When making the decision to build, whoever you choose, don’t build based on price alone, put a lot of thought into the relationship you will have with the builder throughout the entire process. how well they communicate and how much they care. A shout out to Neil Dueck, who designed the house, he overhauled our initial drawings/ideas and came up with a grand slam for a design, keeping everything on our wish list in a somewhat compact 32’x45’ footprint for a total of 1300 sqft up and a fully finished basement down that is amazing. The 11’x13’ covered front porch is incredible and unique in the neighbourhood, it elicits great comments frequently. From our first meeting with Cory and Genevieve to discuss and design our project we found them to be highly knowledgeable and professional. With excellent interpersonal skills. They have the technical ability to take our vision and bring to it to fruition both on paper and as a reality. Cory's attention to detail insured this project was on time and within budget. Justin Latta: I'm writing an in-depth review, and ultimately giving Hearth 5 stars because their service is just out of this world amazing.Let's start from the beginning. Linda was great to deal with, on figuring out my plan and and exactly what I wanted in a house. We chatted for a while, visited a few of their different show homes and landed on one that I liked but wanted customized. The job cost card was fairly accurate, but make sure you go through everything. I asked for a copy of their showhome, and was quite surprised when the countertops were an upcharge since I had thought I had the countertops selected from the show home. That was a shock, and one of the things I do wish they were a bit more transparent on.Then on to the planning and selections. For the most part, this was fairly smooth. I had a good idea of what I wanted in the house, so it didn't hold anything up. There was a bit of a mixup when working out the details on the driveway, but it was dealt with. I wish I took a bit more time in my walkthroughs, because there was one mishap that I should have caught in one. We had moved a doorswing to allow for a light switch in a different spot, but then we left the light switch in the original spot. But, hearth actually came and fixed it up when I asked them to as I didn't feel it was entirely fair I got the worst of both worlds, and we had discussed it.Everything done in the home has been superb quality so far, and any issues that have come up are dealt with promptly. I talk to the neighbors, who are building with others and they have significantly more problems, that are not being dealt with. My neighbor who built with a Qualico company still is waiting on his driveway while a massive pile of rocks sit there and he can't use it at all. They told him it will be done when it's done. That's not how hearth works. Hearth is upfront and honest, they will tell you exactly what they know in terms of timelines and try their best to accommodate them.Seth and Wade are both amazing people to deal with, and very reasonable. Seth really goes above and beyond to get the job done right, he's a guy who takes pride in his work and doesn't just slap things together. They always are super responsive to my messages, and when I have an issue they have someone out right away. Don't expect everything to be 100% smooth sailing, things happen along the way, but Hearth is extremely flexible in working with you.If I can give any advice to anyone reading this - trust Hearth to build your home correctly. I had some hesitations after reading a million horrible things online about shoddy builders. But remember you're coming to Hearth because they're not that.Thank you Hearth for my amazing home, I absolutely love it.

Their leadership team, office staff and site supervisors have been great to deal with. Any challenges or concerns experienced, especially through a dynamic and changing environment in the past years, have always been dealt with in a timely and professional manner. We chose Harwood because their reputation is excellent and they give back to their community. Their business model is well conceived and very transparent. We always knew where our money was going and if there were any problems, we were informed in a timely fashion. The pre-build planning was not rushed and we feel that this attention to detail before the build contributed greatly to the success of our project. Despite the difficulties associated with COVID supply and demand backups, we enjoyed the experience. The room was finished in the spring of 2022 and we love it. Our greatest wish was that the addition would not look like an after-thought and Harwood indeed gave us a room that belongs on the house.
