Welcome! Our Club is a neat space created from two renovated housing units in the Gilbert Park Housing Complex. We have access to a games room, computer room, kitchen, gymnasium, weight room, community garden, skate park and a small playground.
Our Club is open for children and youth ages 6-18 with the age groups divided into different time slots throughout the evening. We have drop-in 7 days per week and encourage youth to pre-register for enhanced programs such as soccer, Girls Night Out, Kids in the Kitchen, Youth for Eco-Action, Power Up!, music lessons and more. We are a cross-cultural Club with a large percentage of Aboriginal participants. To see the different activities scheduled for the month, check out our monthly calendar for more information. Alissa Lloyd: My four year old daughter has attended Kids and Co part time for the past 9 months and we have been very happy with the centre. She has learned so much during her time there. She has especially enjoyed the afternoon Kindergarten session for the older kids and it seems to be preparing her well for entering school in the fall. I have been very impressed with her teachers Mr. Raman, Ms. Haddy and Ms. Sauda – my daughter has always taken a while to warm up to new people, but I can tell that she loves her teachers as she is always excited to see them in the morning and always talks about the things they do together at home. When I have observed the teachers in the classroom, they appear to be handling the group well as a whole in a professional yet caring manner, while still giving each child individual attention. The meal program is an added bonus, one less thing to worry about!
louise zhang: Positive:ProfessionalismMy son came to kids and company two years ago and he likes the teachers there very much, especially Napdeep, Sauda, Haddy and Ramen. They are all very loving, patient and professional and treat my son like his own child. My son really learned a lot there.
Jayda Chatfield: I am so impressed with every staff member we've had the opportunity to interact with over the last 8 months. It's clear all of the teachers/ECE's care about the children, and speak with pride when they recount good things that happen during the day. They are thoughtful, and often go out of their way to do nice things for the children and give them unique experiences. I wish we had started our 4 year old here 2 years ago, and have made the choice to keep our child here for Kindergarten because of these experiences. Thank you Winnipeg Kids & Company!
