4worldlovers: For the last 19 years Ottawa Swimming's training programs and swimming lessons have served all level of adult swimmer from beginner to advanced, triathletes and non-triathletes alike. Join us and see just how fun a swim club can be!

Registration for our 2023-24 season will open in August with the program then running from October through June 2024. For full details visit our Pool Swims page. All groups sell out each season so we recommend registering on the earliest day you can. Members always have a pre-registration week in advance of the general public.

4worldlovers: The British Swim School program located inside the One80Five Fitness Centre in downtown Ottawa offers a variety of small group classes to suit the littlest of beginners and older advanced swimmers. Adult classes are available as well. It is never too late to learn to swim!


Our unique program is taught by the area’s best trained instructors. Training is developed and provided by British Swim School and is built on British Swim School’s long-standing, logically progressive, and goal-oriented curriculum. The School has been teaching water survival and swimming successfully and consistently since 1981!

Facility-specific rules: Please note that all rules are strictly enforced by the British Swim School ONE85 Team.

No eating is allowed on the pool deck or in restrooms

Enrollment leads to an ongoing membership– we do not have sessions. This membership will be auto-renewed every month.

Start date: you will be scheduled to start immediately after enrollment; you will receive a registration confirmation indicating your start date

Tuition: Monthly flat fee that is automatically charged via credit card on the 24th of each month for the following month’s lessons

1st tuition payment today: Tuition is pro-rated for the remainder of the current month

Annual membership fee: A one-time annual fee of $40 in addition to tuition is charged when you sign up.

Over ten years ago, Natalya Kwiatkowski started her career as a swim instructor at a public pool. It became obvious to her that group lessons often did not match the learning abilities of her students. Natalya decided that many children would benefit from private swimming lessons that were tailored to the child’s learning style so that they could more quickly achieve confidence as a swimmer.

For this reason, at the age of 18, Natalya started Hippo in the Bathtub. Through the company, she strives to ensure that convenient and quality swim instruction is available to everyone in Ottawa!

Since 2011, Hippo in the Bathtub has helped thousands of students all over Ottawa become better swimmers. Our focus is to promote water safety by providing our clients with quality swim instruction at their convenience.

Welcome to Safe Swim Ottawa. Looking for swimming lessons, we offer private, semi-private, and small group lessons approved by the LifeSaving Society. Lessons run every day for two weeks straight, Monday to Thursday.

All five available sessions, can accommodate any LifeSaving Society Swim level. Classes run from Monday to Thursday for two weeks, except for holiday weeks and in the chance of bad weather.

All levels of the LifeSaving Society are offered to permit each student the opportunity to work their way through the program and to develop a strong swimming foundation.

Two Week Long Session from Monday to Thursday for a total of 8 lessons.
