Philippe Desjardins: .Vegetarian options: Many of them, and many GF

Laurianne Bryant: and they will modify the amount based on how many people are at your table. Nice atmosphere, smaller restaurant so a bit more intimate. Service was great.Dietary restrictions: We had an individual that could not have dairy so each meal we ordered they modified a small plate for the one person

helena legault: Great place to go with friends! Amazing food and service.

Christy Haldane: Lovely spot and yummy food

Play Food & Wine: what do users think?

Christine Stenger: We had an excellent lunch today! We stopped in while walking around town and did a walk in. I loved the art here and enjoyed the service. They have exceptional service. Our server was very knowledgeable about the foods, the cheese, the wine, and more. I felt like I was able to truly understand what I was eating and where the food was coming from. I love this level of details when eating out.The wine was amazing. The small plates are paired with suggested wines. And I have to say they definitely met the mark. I had two seafood plates. The fish patty and a mini fillet. The sides were perfect accompaniments. I also loved being able to see art from all directions. The restaurant is rather small but very central. Out the window I could see the Ottawa sign and tourist reveling in the fun of it.I highly recommend this for lunch!Vegetarian options: There was a African rice dish on the menu for lunch. I also saw a few starters that were also veg.Dietary restrictions: They request you let them know if you have any restrictions.

Hana Tanasijevic: Had a lovely dinner! Very nice restaurant with a wonderful curated menu. Really enjoyed the wine pairing

Mikhaël Bélanger: I went to Play for the first time a few years ago, before COVID, and always considered it one of the best dining experiences I had in my life. I didn't have a chance to come back until yesterday, probably 6 years later. Let me tell you, that experience has not changed a bit. I have been to fancy restaurants like Bouchon and Blue Hill, and I still would pick Play over them in a heartbeat. The food is .... Mesmerizing. Their ramp gnocchi nearly made me cry of joy, the scallop crudo paired with that incredible Italian wine was mind blowing, and everything else, though not as memorable, was on point. We were served by Laureen, a Play's veteran who made us feel like longtime guests.Play is without a doubt one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. Incredible and yet, perfectly accessible. You should never hesitate to come.

Quenby Joanette: I had a large party for my husband's birthday, but the waitstaff at Play seemed to effortlessly keep up with all 9 of us. We went for their wine list and were not disappointed. We split bottles of amazing wine between us, and it was genuinely an immersive experience. Who needs Prince Edward County or the Niagara region when you have Play? It was a tasting extravaganza and so very memorable. Thank you to everyone who made this a birthday to remember. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff funny and professional. Next time, we plan on eating the food rather than just raiding their wine cellar.

Sonya Gankina: Went for Valentine's day and came back this week. Always lovely service. Interesting unique high-end craft cocktails. Love the variation of food depending on seasonality. Nice to get an "appetizer" from top half of menu and a "main" from bottom half - the ramp gnocchi is unreal. Kitchen even put on extra blue cheese for me like I asked which was very sweet. Incredible value of two generous high-quality plates for $49 compared to other fine dining places. Atmosphere nice but not pretentious.

Erling's Variety: what do users think?

OY CN: .Also, the duck tartare had a nice flavour. Really, none of the dishes were disappointing.Overall it was very expensive for small dishes, but the flavours were unique and if you're looking for a special night out with something different on the menu, this is a good choice.

Lucia Spallone: Only happinessOur Ottawa favoriteExcellent service and cocktails. The food just wow.A place to return! Thanks for the experience

Gage Stevens: Recommended dishes Duck Tartar

Hubert Villeneuve: The food is great. I really enjoyed the mushroom vol-aux-vent and the arctic char salad. The desert was very much on the sweet side though. The wine by the glass and cocktails are good and reasonably priced. Overall decent cost for the quality of the meal. The ambiance and open kitchen is also great. Cozy and laid back with a unique character yet still feels class.

Trav: .If you have never been here before, I highly recommend you come try it for dinner sometime. This hidden gem is a top spot in Ottawa for us and we recommend to everyone we can. Without hesitation, I’d try anything on the menu and guarantee satisfaction.Kudos to the staff at this place, and thank you for providing such a wonderful dining experience for us each and every time!

Emily J: Had the most DELIGHTFUL experience last night! We decided to try out the happy hour and it has got to be the best in the city!!! The oysters were so fresh and the house made hot sauce was to die for. We were simply blown away by the duck tartar. The charcuterie board was a steal and the spicy pickled carrots have our hearts Enough about food, the service was phenomenal: friendly, knowledgeable, great recommendations and wonderfully accommodating about my food allergy. We didn’t have a reservation, but they squeezed us in. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect, great for a romantic date night. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for everything!

Daphne Wang: even for tapas style. The red wine we had were way below average in our opinion

Sean Flynn: it might be chilly in there. Not a terrible thing but some of the seats/tables were warmer than others. I’ve also been in the spring/summer and it’s perfect.

Michelle Lloyd Ozturk: was wonderful and the atmosphere was on point. My husband and I stopped by the other day to celebrate my birthday and the owner was so kind and gracious, even bringing a piece of tiramisu to the table with a birthday candle. The owner was able to recommend an amazing wine and broke my streak of not being able to find a pinot noir that I liked. We ordered the antipasto and the prosciutto pizza and enjoyed every bite! I can't wait to come back here with family and friends, there is truly no end to the good things I can say about this place. I definitely recommend that you don't sleep on this place - you're missing out!To the owner: thank you for an amazing cap to a beautiful birthday. My husband and I enjoyed your stories, your recommendations, your food and your hospitality.

Hank Hill: I went to Vespa for dinner with my wife and another couple. The service was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We had pastas and pizzas. Both winners for sure. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy.We will definitely return again.

Kai Lu: . The pacing and pairings were excellent. We ordered the scallop ceviche, tuna tartare and Burrata. All these dishes were good, but the ceviche was especially a treat.Recommended dishes Scallop Ceviche …

Nin: A gem that one should all come and dine at. If you love small plates, mouth watering dishes, knowledgeable pleasant staff, great ambience and intimate settings then you MUST come here. I came here with another friend and we loved the evening. There is nothing to say negative about this place. We were greeted as soon as we entered and attended to immediately. The food came out in stages that weren’t rushed so we got to enjoy each plate at our own time. Great food and great prices!

Om Thakkar: Aperitivo truly embodies the essence of Mediterranean warmth and hospitality! From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was welcomed with open arms and a bright smile, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The food at Aperitivo is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is crafted with care and precision. Chef Nick is undoubtedly a culinary genius, his passion for food evident in every bite. Not only is the food delicious, but the presentation is also impeccable. Chef Nick's artistic flair truly elevates the dining experience to new heights.I must also commend Manager Erica for her outstanding hospitality. Her warmth and genuine kindness create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like family. Erica's infectious smile brightens up the restaurant, and her dedication to ensuring every guest has a memorable experience is truly commendable.Overall, Aperitivo exceeds all expectations, thanks to its delectable cuisine, talented chef, and exceptional staff. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of an unforgettable dining experience. I cannot wait to return and savor more of Chef Nick's culinary creations. Bravo to the entire team at Aperitivo.

Adam F: A real industry standard setter.Always going above and beyond, not just with their grade A service, but their fabulous menu and culinary wonders they serve up.The cost may be high for a great night out, but it's worth every single cent.

two six {ate}: what do users think?

Sandra Bethell: Delicious, fresh, beautifully prepared adventure in food. We started with excellent cocktails, the mezcal sour was superb. Our group of four shared the delightful Argentinian shrimp aguachile made with rhubarb. Mains included the Duck and Lamb. I find a good restaurant can be measured by how they treat their vegetables. The exquisitely prepared turnips, marinated heritage carrots and unique potatoe sides were an excellent accompaniment to the perfectly cooked meat. The crème brûlée was amazing. Service was outstanding. The server gave an excellent understanding of the available wines. I would not have walked into this spot were I just passing by, now, I look forward to returning to Ottawa specifically to go here! Bravo, chefs and servers!

Renée M: My husband and I had such a lovely time at Two six ate. Staff was warm and welcoming, food was a delight and the drinks were great. We will definitely be back. It felt like home and we had so much fun !!

M-C H: Loved the food and drink. Includes vegan options. Wow!

Shaun Cawley: Great service and experience at Two six Ate! We had the Sunday dinner which is a three course meal for 68$. The appetizer and dessert were spectacular, the main was just good. Would recommend getting a reservation as it was pretty busy and we will be going back again!

Kayla Wemp: I came here for my birthday on Friday and had the best time!! The food was great and the service was so nice. Thanks for making my birthday so special!

Chantal Beauregard: Went for dinner with a friend to celebrate. Atmosphere was cozy and service attentive. Food was delicious and the cocktails well crafted. The prices are a little on the higher side but everything was well worth it. I recommend this place.

Supply and Demand: what do users think?

Colin Mascaro: Never disappointed here. Food is unique and always excellent while the service is incredible... Not too formal but clearly know what they are doing.

Sumaira Islam: Came here for my partners birthday. The bread was definitely the best part of dinner, very soft and nicely buttered. My favourite dish was the squash cappellacci, absolutely delicious and a little sweet and savoury. The bucatini alla gricia was decent but quite similar to other pasta dishes in Italian restaurants. I did find the menu to be quite limited, as someone who doesn’t eat pork there was not a ton of options. I would however still come back when the menu changes as the food was definitely delicious.

Amuse Kitchen & Wine: what do users think?

Michael: This place is a foodie's paradise that'll knock your socks off. Their menu is like a flavor rollercoaster, mixing classics with new twists that'll have you wanting more. Every dish is a masterpiece, showing off the chef's skills and culinary prowess. The vibe is cozy for a perfect night out with your friends, family or a romantic date night. The staff is top-notch, super friendly, and always ready with awesome suggestions to make your meal even better. I would strongly recommend you check out this spot. Definitely worth the drive from Orleans! Will definitely be back soon! Also, if you like the show 'The Bear', then you'll love this spot - it fully captivates what Carmen was trying to create - a masterpiece. Thanks again Amuse!

Denise “Denise”: Went to Amuse for the third time and did not disappoint. It was great. Charles our server was great and amuse exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an outstanding food experience.

Nin: The best kept secret in Kanata! It’s a hidden gem. Looking for a special intimate time with some close friends or partner? This is my go to! The food never disappoints. The place is quiet and has a pleasant, soothing ambience. The food choices on the menu are ideal and perfect for sharing. The hostess is wonderful and she brings out the food in the desirable order and not all the plates at once. She is very attentive and top marks for making our dining experience a memorable one! Thank you and we will be back!

Tracey Evans: or be rushed through out dinner. I’d recommend ending resos earlier at a time that won’t make guests feel rushed.-Their tipping prompts are set-up in such a way that if you give 18%, you’re made to feel cheap, because that lists the service as “good” rather than “great -20%” and “excellent - 25%”. This leaves a bit of a bitter taste in a guest’s mouth who is trying to leave a fair tip - making them feel cheap. A bad way to end a great night.

Tom Coxford: An excellent downtown Ottawa restaurant with an awesome selection of cocktails & small bite plates. They also have a great selection of wine, saki in addition to main course plates. Service is amazing and it’s located in one of OTowns oldest courtyards.Do yourself a favour and save room for their yummy homemade donuts for desertVegetarian options: I’d guess 35-40% of their menu is vegetarian based.Parking: Lots of paid downtown parking available near by

Michelle P: . Very rich, flavorful, and creamy...the texture is also amazing.Another thing to not skip is the donuts!!! I got the chef special

Chris Roussakis: I did like this spot a lot, buuuuuut it’s pretty expensive for what it is. I’m not a big fan of paying $22 for a cocktail.Mexican food should never cost $200 for two people. That being said, the restaurant is very nicely put together. It would make a nice venue for a wedding or a party.Staff are nice but there was only one waitress working on the Saturday night we went so things were slow.

David Lawrence: Great brunch! Loved the fried plantains.Food: 5/5 …

Amelia Pushelberg: Came here to try the blind tasting menu with my partner and was not disappointed! Very cute hidden restaurant with great ambiance. Our first course was PEI oysters with caviar, followed by watercress salad, fish tacos and eggplant lasagna. For $28/Pp on a Monday night it was a great deal.Would love to come back to try the full menuat some point.Heads up the menu did not disclose how much the beer on tap was but I believe it was $9-10.Since it was a Monday it was a bit quieter with only one person serving. There is parking on the side streets and 3 spots along the road out front

Sasha No: from Soca Kitch tonight.I went to their website and found their online pick-up system accessible and easy to navigate. Less than 3 minutes later, my cart was full of dinner

Jamey Pender: Great , cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Amazing and tasty food. The cheese platter, grilled halloumi and chocolate desert were excellent, served quickly and with friendly smiles. One glass of wine led to a bottle...Sensational wine and drink menu. A hidden gem in the Glebe.Vegetarian options: Excellent cheese platter with lots of homemade bread, delicious chutney and fruit. The grilled halloumi comes with other veggies and is perfectly seasoned.

Paul M.: Amazing atmosphere, intimate, cozy and fun. The steak was perfect, my Gin Martini to start was exactly how I like it, and such a great selection of wines.Doesn't hurt that the proprietor is probably the nicest, bubbliest person I have met, and that the service was 5 stars.... I highly recommend.

Mark Miller: This place is a favorite stop in for a quaint space to chat, grab a bite and share a beverage. I've been going here on and off for quite some time and it's one of my go-tos. The food menu has a bit of everything, the wine list, well equipped and the ambiance is great. It can get quite loud however due to its compact size and density of seating. I know where to sit to avoid too much commotion and chaos at this point but if you sit in the back against the wall, you may notice the decibel levels rising too high. Overall a sweet spot!Vegetarian options: Halloumi cheese, gnocchi without pancetta, fries.

Lothar Vandenberghe: Limited menu, no-nonsense dishes but deliciously prepared. Flavors are good.Wine selection top.Friendly staff.Must go there!Reservations are recommended

The Belmont: what do users think?

Taleen D: This place is an absolute treat! Don't be fooled by the interior. The Belmont may look like an ordinary bar, but their food is equal to a fancy, fine dining restaurant. We ordered the vegetarian family style, which includes: trini doubles, endive salad, cauliflower, broccolini, mushroom on toast, & lemon cheesecake. Thinking it might be small portions, we also added the beef tartare. All the plates were generous portions! Everything was so delicious, and the cocktails were tasty too. Although we almost couldn't finish the food, we did, and were happily in a food coma afterwards. Highly recommend it! We'll be back for sure.
