The marinated olives were amazing served warm. Great bowl of black and green pitless olives with bread. The truffle fries were just alright - a little cold but had great flavor.We each ordered a different main. They were all good but just a tad salty - but that’s fine, we ordered lots of wine and the servers brought us water. I personally had the tenderloin and it was cooked medium rare and came with potatoes and asparagus. The other dishes - salmon, duck, and mussels - were presented very beautifully as well.The ambiance was nice overall.

Faiz H: I came here on a Saturday night after a work dinner and it was the perfect end to the night. The DJ was spinning great music, bartenders were quick with making the drinks and serving. Kitchen was sadly closed but it was late so its completely understandable. The crowd was a mature group, well dressed. Overall a great time!
Fraser Bell: Bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable and overall seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. Food was expensive but well worth it. I had the beef tenderloin and it was delicious. Interior decor and lightning set a nice vibe. Would eat there again.

Our Duna Schnitzel is made using only the finest quality center cut of the pork loin. There is a tasty reason for this. It is much less sinewy and therefore much more tender than other schnitzels.
Every piece of meat is carefully pounded with a large mallet until our large schnitzel measures 30 centimeters in diameter. This involves more work than for ordinary schnitzels but, in the end, our guests get to enjoy an exceptionally large and tender schnitzel.
The schnitzels are then carefully hand breaded in flour, egg wash and the finest quality bread crumbs before being expertly pan fried in vegetable oil.
Our schnitzels are made exactly as our grandmothers prepared them one century ago. This is why our patrons can enjoy the finest, most tender and crispy schnitzels anywere.

Michelle Brooke: One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Incredible food and atmosphere! My fiancé and I came here for the first time a few nights ago and we loved it. The spaetzle noodles are amazing and so is the schnitzel. I am German and I found the food very authentic, just like my mother’s and my Oma’s cooking. We also loved the pierogis. The atmosphere is beautiful, lovely music, and we had very kind service. The food was prepared with care and the portion sizes are very large! We took leftovers home and had those for dinner the next evening! I can’t wait to come back and eat here again.

Not only is the food outstanding but the service is just as amazing… the waitress went above and beyond and the owner even came out to thank us for coming. Christine Stenger: We had an excellent lunch today! We stopped in while walking around town and did a walk in. I loved the art here and enjoyed the service. They have exceptional service. Our server was very knowledgeable about the foods, the cheese, the wine, and more. I felt like I was able to truly understand what I was eating and where the food was coming from. I love this level of details when eating out.The wine was amazing. The small plates are paired with suggested wines. And I have to say they definitely met the mark. I had two seafood plates. The fish patty and a mini fillet. The sides were perfect accompaniments. I also loved being able to see art from all directions. The restaurant is rather small but very central. Out the window I could see the Ottawa sign and tourist reveling in the fun of it.I highly recommend this for lunch!Vegetarian options: There was a African rice dish on the menu for lunch. I also saw a few starters that were also veg.Dietary restrictions: They request you let them know if you have any restrictions.

Mikhaël Bélanger: I went to Play for the first time a few years ago, before COVID, and always considered it one of the best dining experiences I had in my life. I didn't have a chance to come back until yesterday, probably 6 years later. Let me tell you, that experience has not changed a bit. I have been to fancy restaurants like Bouchon and Blue Hill, and I still would pick Play over them in a heartbeat.The food is .... Mesmerizing. Their ramp gnocchi nearly made me cry of joy, the scallop crudo paired with that incredible Italian wine was mind blowing, and everything else, though not as memorable, was on point.We were served by Laureen, a Play's veteran who made us feel like longtime guests.Play is without a doubt one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. Incredible and yet, perfectly accessible. You should never hesitate to come.
Quenby Joanette: I had a large party for my husband's birthday, but the waitstaff at Play seemed to effortlessly keep up with all 9 of us. We went for their wine list and were not disappointed. We split bottles of amazing wine between us, and it was genuinely an immersive experience. Who needs Prince Edward County or the Niagara region when you have Play? It was a tasting extravaganza and so very memorable. Thank you to everyone who made this a birthday to remember. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff funny and professional. Next time, we plan on eating the food rather than just raiding their wine cellar.
Sonya Gankina: Went for Valentine's day and came back this week. Always lovely service. Interesting unique high-end craft cocktails. Love the variation of food depending on seasonality. Nice to get an "appetizer" from top half of menu and a "main" from bottom half - the ramp gnocchi is unreal. Kitchen even put on extra blue cheese for me like I asked which was very sweet. Incredible value of two generous high-quality plates for $49 compared to other fine dining places. Atmosphere nice but not pretentious.

Tara Glaude: What an absolute gem! Went for the first time with a couple of friends for dinner. The space is very inviting and we sat at the window which I always appreciate. Has a casual feel, but the cuisine is definitely upscale! My friend ordered the chicken and pierogis & said it tasted as good as it looked! And she is Polish so she knows her pierogis! My other friend and I ordered a couple of apps to share, the arancini and the salmon. WOW WOW WOW!!! Presentation was incredible, wish I’d pulled out my phone to capture, and the flavours! Absolutely incredible!!! I could have had a third app for sure but the 2 made a delectable light dinner 🤤Deserves all the exclamation points ok!!!! Joseph van Blokland: What a wonderful place. Started with an amazing warm salad, of perfectly cooked and seasoned vegetables. Then had a lamb shank, octopus and a veg lasagne.Great cocktails, Cabernet Sauvignon, and my wife's Argentinian shrimp pasta was perfectly done.Very attentive service, and was lucky enough to get a parking spot right out front.

Then after their food was brought out in take out containers, the medical issue subsided a little to where our friends decided they could at least have dinner at the table. Again, our server was amazing. "We'll just replate it!". The leg of duck confit was crispy on the outside and full of flavour underneath. It was served with a purée of parsnip topped with bacon, and a flavourful garnish. Gaetano Licari: Very great vibe. If you go on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and or Saturday night, you are always greeted by the owner, Fortunato. He greets you with a warm smile. A handshake, and if he knows you personally it’s always a hug, and or a kiss on the cheek. From when you sit down, the servers are right on top of you getting ready to make sure that you enjoy your evening. The food is fantastic. The service is majestic. And be prepared that when you are ready to finish paying the bill, they will always offer everyone at the table a drink of choice. Viva Italia.
