Garry started OrthoMedix at the Southvale Medical Plaza in 1992. Until a building fire in 2009 necessitated the move to St.Laurent location.

His ultimate goal was to respond to a growing need for a professional establishment to fit and manufacture orthopaedic devices and appliances in the Ottawa area.

Garry's reputation is built on quality of work and the personal service he provides to patients.


2022 Podocanada acquired OrthoMedix, and Garry became part of the new team.


Lorie has over 25 years of experience in the Nursing field, with the majority of that time spent caring for Seniors; either through the management of others, or direct hands-on service herself.

Lorie obtained her Practical Nurse diploma at Cambrian College, and has certification in Orthotherapy and kinesitherapy.

Lucie started her career in the health care field as a Personal Support Worker in a nursing home 30 years ago.

In 2018, her father Garry hired her to work side by side with him at Orthomedix looking after customers and fitting their footcare needs.

In 2022, Lucie became part of the new Podocanada team and we are glad to have her on board.

Since October 2017, Lori has been instrumental in the administration, reception and client service of the front desk along with assisting in the selection of orthopedic appliances and footwear.

Lori has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Carleton University. She has an extensive background in both the private and public industry with a focus on administration, client services, and human resources.

Our BioPed Ottawa (Kanata) Clinic provides comprehensive lower limb and footcare services, including assessments, gait analysis, and scanning and fabrication of custom orthotics in our on-site lab. Each BioPed client receives a comprehensive, hands-on biomechanical assessment focused on their feet and how they move. Any potential sources of pain and individual lifestyle factors are taken into consideration to develop a care plan that is unique to each client.

A complete Biomechanical Assessment takes about 45 minutes.
