Movies 'n Stuff: what do users think?

Krystal Mercier: Great place to buy or rent movies

Benny L.: Very cool store. You can buy DVDs and rent them. One of the last remaining places to just browse the shelves and rent movies. The prices are great as well.

Lee Turcotte: Amazing feeling of nostalgia and personal service. In the short time I was in the store I saw the owner personally assist a variety of people from all walks of life. A stark reminder of the effect of the digital age on physical media and an actual location providing a service that can't be replicated online. Cool to see a store like this thriving and hear what people are watching and interact with people.

Dean Blachford: This store helps us with our school movie nights. They are extremely kind and helpful.

Kristopher Morrison: Great little place, lots of selection of both new and older movies and tv shows. Owner is A+ and really knows his stuff. Very inexpensive movie rentals.

Roger Roberge: Excellent service and selection. Love going there on a regular basis. Check out their comprehensive website.

Christian McPherson: The greatest store for DVDs and Blu Rays. Peter is the best! I order everything from him- skip Amazon and make a journey to his store.

Bruneman88: Great place. Well the only place to grab a movie anymore. Lol. Awesome selection, and Peter rocks! Very knowledgeable. Check it out...

Colin Sawka: I ordered a WWE DVD online. Problem free and sent a nice note with my order!

Rohan Deshpande: Awesome store with great selection, and very nice staff! Will definitely be coming here often.

Christopher Tharby: I went searching for a secondhand movie store, and I was amazed to find this little movie rental place. Excellent selection, personable staff member, and a bluray blowout sale that increased my collection. They don't do movie store like this anymore.

F Premont: Very nice!

J W: A must if you live in Alta Vista. Pete is a legend.

Mariette Vintage: Love this place! Awesome selection, friendly owner passionate about film. Another bonus for me is they still require masks, a local shop who cares about keeping the community safe. Highly recommend this gem!

elisabeth nicholson: BEST movie rental place ever! Super-friendly, super-helpful, super-responsive.The owners know everything worth knowing about movies and TV or streaming series; they can provide expert guidance and suggestions. They have an unbelievably rich collection of classics and all-time great films, and they can find and procure almost anything. They are also an important landmark of the community, dedicated to the vanishing model of the independent small business. For me—a movie and video buff—Movies ‘n Stuff is the most unique and treasured establishment in Ottawa and all Eastern Ontario/West Quebec, and I feel incredibly lucky they’re in my neighbourhood.

Glebe Video International: what do users think?

Phil Fleury: A true jewel of a video store, with a fantastic selection of international titles. Indispensable to film students, cinephiles and Glebe residents for decades. May it last many more.

Caleb Wong: Excellent selection. The owner is friendly and helpful. I come here every week.

Regina Nadolsky: Excellent service and we are very lucky that Ottawa still has this video store. Excellent service and a very knowledgeable and pleasant owner. Thanks Peter!

Kidane G: Owner was extremely nice, it's a great place with thousands of movies to choose from. I'd reccomend for sure!

Nino: Very friendly, very helpful staff/owner.

James Stewart: The place is the last of it's kind. You'll definitely find that film you can't find anywhere else. Bring cash with you.

Candureactor B: Are you looking for hard-to-find titles or maybe you eschew high-priced cable and streaming services? Then step back in time to this awesome shoppe!

Tyler: Amazing international selection!

pc perfect: Great and unique collection, well over 20000 titles. A treasure box of art.

S. Gurman: As perhaps the last video rental store in Ottawa, Glebe Video is certainly the best. But it would be the best in any case due to its huge selection of videos from many countries and including dvds of films from the 30's and up, which have been restored and are now available for viewing. There is just no comparison with the limited number of films available on Netflix, etc. And, finally, the staff at Glebe Video are knowledgeable film lovers!

Frank MacDonald: Amazing rental shop. Always find what im looking for. Awesome staff as well.

Andre Diorio: A treasure house of new, old, domestic and foreign movies

Kirsten O'Brien: Knowledgeable friendly staff. Endless titles

Philippe-Antoine Hoyeck: One of the few video rental places left in Ottawa. Now that Invisible Cinema, Tundra Moving Pictures, and Phoenix Video have all closed their doors, Glebe Video International is just about the only place left to rent anything else than the typical Hollywood blockbuster fare. It is also the only place left with knowledgeable staff who are interested in film and who are able to recommend titles.Glebe Video is located on the second floor of 779 Bank Street, just above the Royal Oak. The space is on the small side and a little cramped, for the good reason that the walls are covered from top to bottom in shelves of DVDs. Of course, they have the new releases found at any rental place. But the main attraction is the international films, independent films, documentaries, and classics that one would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else - including VHS tapes of films that were never converted to DVD.In the 7 years since I discovered Glebe Video, I don't think I have once gone in and not found what I was looking for. Despite the unfathomable number of films they have, the staff always seem to know what they have and where it is. Glebe Video is a gem, but with Netflix and illegal downloading putting more and more places out of business, it's one that I'm afraid we might soon lose.

Mayfair Theatre: what do users think?

Andrew: Amazing theatre and a classic piece of the city.

Joshua bradbury-klyman: Nice to have an old style cinema where you can watch independent films. Popcorn and soda are reasonably priced.

Nick Wilson: Classic in every way

Arturo Fernandez: Great experience

Ilon T: Very cool theatre with great movies!

Emile Traore: Fantastic cozy theater with a classic vibe that shows lesser known movies of great cultural value.

James Kozilek: The Mayfair is a pillar in our community and a must-visit for Ottawa film fans. They offer great service, fair prices, and a variety of new and repertory films. I go whenever I can, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Landmark Cinemas Orleans: what do users think?

Troy Van Dusen: Great place, went to see new planet of the apes. Great atmosphere and staff.

Sean McAlpine: Always clean with great movie selection and nice comfortable stadium seating.

Robin Rehberg: With the new spacious reclining chairs I don't like going anywhere else. Although the popcorn is not as good as it used to be.

J H: Was able to meet Jameson and Alex, service they provided was 10/10

Shannon Severin: Always love. My go to theater. Great seating and customer service and clean

Pierre Labbée: Impress with the seats.

Lauren Wilson-Millette: Clean cinema, never too busy. You can pick your seats in advance and they have good menu options. I love the new premiere seats!

Martin Aubin: VIP all the time !

Richard Sioui: Great theater.....last time they kept lights open during about 15 minutes into the movie but they did give us free admission at the end though. I give 4 stars because the soft drinks are mainly empty and always 1 butter topper doesn't work lol. But great place to watch a movie 😉

Lionel Perron: Cinema 10. Saw Dune. Movie was awesome but there were some reflections on the screen from the ambient lighting.

Diane Jesmer: Went on a Tuesday. Pristine bathrooms. Popcorn is the best!
