Tan Tran: Absolutely the best customer service!! I'm a novice when it comes installing floating shelves with live edge wood. Had some beautiful, but large slabs of live edge wood that I grabbed from the Lumber Shack in Alymer. This shop milled and cut it to size perfectly. They also provided some amazing advice for a newbie. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back for other projects!

We had House of fine Carpentry redo our columns in the front of our house. Service was excellent (some other companies would not even provide us with a quote!) Dealing with Rory made it hassel free and we have added much needed equity into our home!
We had three interior doors replaced and the quality of the work is exceptional. The carpenter who completed the job, Tyler, was professional, conscientious, and polite. Justine Verheem: Thoroughly enjoyed the Woodshop Basics course taught by Liz. The atmosphere is very friendly, supportive and safety oriented. You leave class feeling comfortable with the machinery and basic knowledge of how to cut, sand and stay safe. Looking forward to my next workshop!
Jeff R: An amazing location! I signed up for a paddle making case with Jason, which was a phenomenal experience. The woodshop itself has every tool you could need, for members to access, and they also run different courses each month to learn about hand tools, as well as making other items.For the workshop, Jason's knowledge was phenomenal from the basics of choosing the right shape, length, and handle, to all the steps to design the perfect paddle for each attendee.Making the paddle was a very relaxing process, although intensive! I'm looking forward to doing another workshop, and learning even more about woodworking with hand tools.

Andrew Lupsity: Took the intro to woodworking course hosted by Liz. Was a very good introduction to all of the essential power tools for woodworking. Liz was super knowledgable and provided good guidance, but the course also allowed for lots of time to practice things on your own. If you are just starting out i would definitely recommend taking the course. The shop itself has lots of space and good dust collection set up if you are considering becoming a member.

C Gar: . Due to the nature of his work he was unable to teach us his skills growing up. So I am really happy to have found Ottawa City Woodshop. Here is the place where I can begin upgrading myself to get some of my father’s great skills, and this time hopefully pass some along to my own children.This wood shop posts new projects every month on their website and you can sign up to classes to make all sorts of things—tables, chairs, boxes, even toboggans. The shop has all of the wood machinery you would expect from large to small. The staff are patient with first timers and are able to give some personal attention while you work. The photos I posted are from a coffee table class.The only problem with the place is—the classes fill up fast! You can email the owners to ask when they post classes so you can try to be there on time to register first
