Joy has trained with Imago Relationships International where she has earned recognition as a compassionate and effective therapist.

She has received advanced training in the treatment of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a validated therapeutic model renowned for helping people to address Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), deal with issues of loss, grief, anxiety, depression as well as to enhance performance.

As a wife and mother of two Joy has experienced the many stages of marital and family development, and has combined her life experience with her professional skill. Joy's strength and reputation extends to helping individuals, couples and families translate the challenges of relationships as well as the pressures of everyday life into opportunities for growth. Her personal philosophy is that change, stress, happiness and adversity are all part of life. It is not what we encounter that sets us back but how we connect/disconnect and communicate with those around us that shapes our experience.
