Since he was in his car seat he has been watching the clocks in the house. His first words were “tee taa, tee taa” as he imitated the cuckoo clock in the kitchen. As he grew he would sit beside me in the workshop.

As a young man he asked me to teach him. Every year when he would visit for the summer I would train him – he even came on house calls. When I would visit Vancouver our free time was spent working on clocks of friends and family there.

I took an electric advertisement clock to John because I couldn’t find a replacement movement. It had a badly worn-out wheel and did not run.

John found the right Ingraham movement on eBay and was able to replace the damaged wheel after replacing a bushing. The clock was an artifact at the National Gallery of Canada. It is back at its proper location and is working very well. Thanks John.

I came in to pick up my pocket watch today. I had been looking forward to this day for months. This watch was my Grandfather’s, who I unfortunately never got to meet. He died 3 days before I was born. The watch was kept in my Dad’s desk drawer, beside my Grandfathers medals from WW1. The watch never worked but I always thought it was really beautiful. When my Dad passed away a couple of years ago, I inherited the watch and I promised myself I would get it restored. Fast Time had repaired a watch for me a while ago and did a great job and I felt I could trust them with this important job.
