4worldlovers: The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Ottawa Chapter focuses on the Defense, intelligence, and security communities.

Chapter activities include executive breakfast programs, featuring government and military leaders, the annual Golf Tournament event and Leadership Awards, and our long standing IT Security Course (worth 22 credits toward CISSP/CISM). The chapter awards a number of STEM scholarships for graduating high school seniors and science teaching grants to area high schools. AFCEA Ottawa also supports a local Technical High School in their mission to become a nationally recognized STEM High School. The chapter also provides two Awards to High School students who exemplify the core values of the institution based on teacher nominations.

The chapter held a three-day event sponsored by Microsoft Canada and covering the Canadian Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) cloud certification process. The event addressed topics such as SA&A Foundations, How Hyperscale Changes the Context, Leveraging International Certifications and SA&A Certifications Specifically for Hyperscale Cloud. The chapter rounded off the three-day event with a practitioner's panel of government of Canada chief information security officers and senior advisors.
