Sandra Stephens: I had a terrifying labour experience and could not have asked for better or more compassionate and supportive care from my Midwives of Mississauga team.When deciding to choose between midwives vs OB care what tipped the scales for me was the 6 weeks postpartum care by the midwives as well as the 1 hr appointment durations during pregnancy. I never had to wait to see a member of my midwife team and it was very easy to schedule appointments and get in contact with them. I had a normal pregnancy and everything was going well until week 30 when I went into spontaneous early labour resulting in an emergency c-section and a 47 day stay in the NICU with my 10 week premature little one. Even though my daughter was getting 24 hr care in the hospital NICU, the midwives were there for me during my c-section recovery and NICU journey. They came to my house to check on my incision, mental health and breast milk pumping progress. When I was first discharged they came multiple days in one week and after as recovery was in progress would call and check in still multiple times a week. They referred me to lactation consultants when I needed them and psychiatric support as a result from the traumatic labour experience. They were incredibly important to me, directing me to all the right places during that difficult time. I am not sure how I would have navigated it without them.Now having experienced a labour that ultimately required OB and hospital intervention in the end, I would absolutely hands down do midwife care again for my next pregnancy. Even after my care was transferred to the OBs for the emergency c-section my midwife stayed with me through the whole procedure and visited me in my hospital room following the procedure. They were a special part of my pregnancy and came through for me when I needed them most. A special shout out to team 4 - thank you so much.

Although I did not get to have a midwife during labour because of a medical condition I had, it was still a pleasant experience leading up to that. I had two different midwives then the ones from Team 2 that did my followup at home and they were great as well.

Kinza Dar: I wanted to write this review to share my experience with Midwives of Mississauga. During my visits the receptionist Rachel was very welcoming and professional. All my appointments were on time and scheduled accordingly. I was assigned three midwives during my pregnancy. I met with Marla, Georgina and Erin C. They were all very kind and listened to all my concerns and questions I had. Erin C also took the extra steps in getting tests done during my postpartum recovery. My midwife during my labour and delivery was Marla. She was pleasant, kind, helpful and informative. I had a great experience having her as my midwife. I would highly recommend seeking a midwife if this is your first pregnancy. Thank you Midwives of Mississauga for a pleasant experience.

Melissa Wood: I would highly recommend Midwives of Mississauga as they are truly outstanding care providers and I really encourage woman to consider the option of having a planned home birth.I felt so confident in the Midwive's expertise and abilities to ensure that myself and baby were safe and well cared for. They came equipped with so much - medications and equipment that would have also been available in hospital.Our Midwives also provided clear and detailed information so that I had the ability to to make informed decisions about our care.It was just so relaxing and comfortable to be in my own space and have privacy throughout the birthing process. To be able to eat and drink and move about as I pleased was so enjoyable as well.I have so much gratitude and appreciation towards these ladies for the excellent care they provide and highly recommend them!!

Sylvia Sandoval: I had an amazing and supportive experience during my care with midwives. Each time I met with Remi, Erin G or Mariah, they were always caring and truly listened. I never felt rushed, and was always able to ask all the questions I had. I was going through a lot of family issues during my pregnancy and they recommended resources for me to reach out to, which I'm so thankful for. My midwife team explained everything to me and made sure I understood what was happening, especially during labour. Mariah made sure she explained what was happening, what she was doing and really helped me through my contractions. I had an amazing birth, prenatal and postnatal care. Thank you to the entire team! Also, the admin team is super caring. Rachel was always so nice and easy going when booking appointments.

alyssa stanwick: I’ve always had troubles with doctors making me feel rushed and not heard, with my midwives I couldn’t have felt better after every appointment, they always went the extra mile to make sure I understand, they took their time and listened so well. It’s a much more of a personal experience than going to a doctor in my opinion. I transferred mid pregnancy and met many different midwives throughout the remainder of pregnancy and WOW each midwife was so caring and kind! It’s amazing you can tell these ladies love what they do. I explored an OB and another midwife clinic before deciding on East Mississauga and I’m so happy I did. Karen was the one who delivered my baby and she was exceptional. She made me feel so comfortable and was so supportive and professional. Saison Monya: I honestly don't know who to thank first, but definitely one of the best experiences that my family and I could have when we arrived in Canada, was meeting the EMM, who from our first contact with Caroline, their kindness, courtesy, understanding, marked a big difference. Our experience in the health sector was new because we came from another country, however the empathy shown was incredible at all times. The two midwives who were assisting us throughout my wife's pregnancy and after it were Lea and Lisa, at all times they made us feel as if we were from home, they resolved all our doubts and in each consultation their support and experience marked a huge difference to have our baby. On the day of delivery due to external situations, the midwife Kelly assisted us. She did not leave us alone at any time, her constant monitoring and great empathy made the total difference in a new place and where she made sure that we had everything we needed for the health and well-being of both my wife and my Baby. Unfortunately we couldn't have a natural birth and we had to have a cesarean section, however despite that decision, the midwives did not move away from us and their company calmed anxieties and fears and helped us have a great reception for our baby. My only comments from the entire team that assisted us, including the hospital's medical team, were incredible and I don't hesitate for a second to recommend their services, the level of energy used, their presence and support are factors that we will always remember. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING PART OF NIKKI'S STORY, we hope our midwives can see this comment, which is just a hint of all the love given during this journey that is just beginning.

They always helped put my mind at ease and supported me.We ended up having an elective c section last minute and the team was so so supportive and we were there for me during the delivery. The support they gave to me when I decided to go down the c-section route was everything I needed - not once did I feel judged or did they try to convince me otherwise. They were my support team and wanted to support what I felt I needed - their understanding, kindness, professionalism, and care will be something I will always remember. We were originally going to do a hospital birth but Lynn really helped us change our mind and we decided to do a home birth. She is very informative and answered all our fears/concerns concerning a home birth. We ended up having a breached baby and had to do an emergency cesarean. When I had a follow up appointment with the OB that delivered my son I had just about the worst experience. The appointment was rushed, I was still laying on the bench/seat after she checked me and she opened the door, she couldn't get me out the door quicker. It was the rudest thing! For this reason and many stories I hear from friends and family who have had OBs, I can say I'm really glad I chose to be under the care of a midwife and that with Hawthorne Midwives! Thank-you so much for the excellent care!!

Salimah and Naa helped me in labour. My delivery was not smooth and doctor had to assist. Unfortunately my baby was not put on my chest after the birth and there was no delayed cord clamping even though I was reassured that those are the things midwives take care of and I don’t need to give birth plan to the hospital staff. rejah anwer: Salimah helped us with our 4th Child. Had a lot of positives from her and the team. She helped as much as she can with our wish to have minimal intervention. Also, her experience helped when she recommended intervention at one stage of labor. She and team was present for most part of the labor which was a big plus and different from our previous experiences. Would definitely recommend.
