Hamilton Sewing: what do users think?

Cathy Johnston: almost every day. When it stopped sewing properly I googled where to take it for repair. I dropped it off, was given a quote for repair and tune up

Cindy Blair: Michelle is so knowledgeable and helpful. I have made 2 machine purchases here and would recommend Hamilton Sewing for all your sewing needs!

Tanya Norsworthy: My friends and I bought a Longarmmer from Hamilton Sewing last year. Michelle was willing to help us understand how to use the Amara Longarmmer by giving us some lessons. Also, we had to get the bottom trolley replaced due to a fluke manufactured defective part. Michelle and Leonard came to our place, replaced the new part and gave great service. overall, their service was wonderful! We are so happy to have it replaced. They were very patient with us and letting us know what to do and how to be aware of the Longarmmer uses. They are kind and professional.

Natasja Tee: Michele is the only lady or machinist that was able to fix my machine in all of Hamilton! She is AMAZING and KNOWS sewing machines! All her products are of the best quality. And quality is everything in sewing and Michele has it!!!

Stella Dickson: Excellent fabric store and great service.

Paul Safranyos: Lots of parking. Fast inspection of sewing machine with immediate dissection of actual and probable costs. Friendly and professional.

david shen: good

Sara Pacheco: Very friendly and a great selection of fabric. The fabric is very good quality and prices are so reasonable. I love supporting local businesses. Thank you for staying open even after such a tough several months due to COVID.

Carol Weland: Appreciate the dedicated service offered by Hamilton Sewing. Their knowledge & expertise as well as their kindness shines while maintaining business during this trying Covid-19 time. It may take a while to get your machine back when in for service but that's because they are so popular with sewers driving miles to get their machines here. It's a small store with a huge heart for their customers!

T S: I really like this place. Great customer service. Fabulous up to date knowledge about everything sewing related. My go to place for sewing machine repairs. Keep up the great job Michelle.

Lynne Prodeus: Helpful, friendly staff. Had the notions I was looking for and some pretty fabric. I will return

Lisa Wang: Last time I went in the lady that worked there was quite rude to me like she didn't want me in the store. It's surprising because I bought my serger there and had conversed a lot with the person in the store at the time during the buying and she was really nice and knowledgable. Maybe it's two different people. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Pi Romero: It was super busy but the young lady that helped us was really nice. They didnt have the machine I wanted but they were able to order this for me. I have to wait a few months but overall I'm happy with the experience

Rod Bentley: Spomenka is a very talented seamstress who takes great pride in her work. I have seen her work meticulously on a wedding gown and use the same expertise on a very intricate, designer velvet cocktail dress that basically needed to be rebuilt and sized down. She did a beautiful alteration and I would highly recommend her.julie

Tara Dennis: Spomenka is amazing. We have been going to her for years to have pants hemmed, shirts altered, buttons resown and even had a stuffed animal repair a few years back. I am so appreciative of the time and thankful for her talent. Thank youTara Dennis

Lila Pucci: Spomenka is an incredibly talented and patient woman who is so passionate about her work. In a rush, she kindly was able to alter my daughter’s prom dress with precision and care. She did not rush through the alteration, and gave us opportunities to make decisions about the progress of the dress as it was intricate. She was fairly priced considering the short turn-around time and the high volume of work required. I certainly recommend her for her warm and welcoming demeanour and secondly for her exceptional skills and advice.Service:Alterations

Michael Stanat: Fast with amazing work.

Alexandria M: Believe in the super power of a seamstress! I’ve bought a couple of items that were too big on me and thanks to Spomenka the clothes fit perfectly.Services:Alterations,General repairs

Max Hunter: Beautiful fabrics! I've gotten into quilting in part because of their fabric selection.Staff are very helpful, and the store is well set up.

Diana Kato: I attended a basic serger class last night and it was so great! I learned So much and feel so much more confident to have fun with my serger now! The instructor Liz was so patient to go step by step through all you might need to know to not be afraid of your serger. The small class of 5 was nice to be able to ask questions. Liz also went ‘overtime’ with some extra fun tips❤️This was my first time at the store and I will be definitely coming back to shop and attend classes! Thank you for a great class

They have an awesome selection of those too, even some really cute cheeky ones ☺ 😉 . I'm a customer for life!!!

Empire Make Space: what do users think?

Yvette Cowe: I can't remember the last time I sewed anything, so I'm starting from square one. Ariane is so patient, encouraging, and accessible. She helped me make my first ever item of clothing without ever once making me feel rushed or silly. I can't wait to really dig into learning this new skill.

Hedia B: This is an absolutely amazing place. I walked in with very little confidence about sewing, I walked out with two beautiful cushion covers that I sewed myself by following beautifully instructed and simplified steps given to me by Ariane who runs this wonderful place. I thought I'm going in to learn how to sew a straight line but through step by step guidance by Ariane and more importantly, absolutely zero sales pitch, I want to go back and learn more. Who knows, maybe eventually I can make a simple a dress for myself 😃. Everything about this place is calming and joyful, and doesn't need those vibes? Thank you Ariane for the amazing instructions and for the confidence I walked out with after only 2 hours in your amazing space.

Jonathan Coates: Ariane runs sowing classes that my daughter absolutely loves dearly. I would highly recommend for anyone that is interested in the craft to take a few lessons. Also heard from Ariane that a couple had thier first date taking one of the classes what a great idea!

Rachel Connell: . Grief is so weird but I can’t imagine a safer space to explore learning a new skill. 100% would recommend to anyone new or advanced as she has a wealth of knowledge, fabric and community drop ins making it an affordable space for all :

Amy Feng: I just had my first ever sewing class with Ariane this evening. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely come back for more classes.

Alicia Cox Thomson: This is my favourite store on Ottawa Street! The owner is so helpful and knowledgeable about all things sewing. I took a beginner sewing class and she taught me how to use my old Singer. It was so informative and I use her instructions all the time! She has plenty of fabric to browse through and lovely handmade items for sale. Love Empire!

Jasna Maksimovic: that I could see plus a large drafting/cutting table upstairs and another downstairs

S Daigle: I went there to use the industrial sewing machines in the studio. It is a huge, bright and well equipped space. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I will return for sure. Prices are completely fair.

Stoney Creek Sewing Centre: what do users think?

caleb span: They did an outstanding job fixing my tent zipper.

Ann Cripps: This is the place to go if your looking for friendly, helpful and quality work. I have dealt with one other company over the years for my old 1970 White sewing machine and had it back in the store twice as the work wasn't done properly. Since having it fixed by Jack of Stoney Creek Sewing Center I have had no problems. I really enjoy dealing with the owner and I would recommend this business.

Erin Beevor: I'm beyond thrilled with the Stoney Creek Sewing Center. I've taken my sewing machine for servicing at this location for years. Recently I received my mother in laws serger but didn't know how to use it. The owner patiently taught me how to use, thread it, tips etc They both work long hours to get alterations, repairs etc completed for their customers. They have sewing supplies, needles, thread, sewing machines for purchase. I'm so grateful we have them in our neighborhood. If you are looking for a sewing business to support, this is the one. I promise you will be impressed!!

Mr Hyde: The gentleman at this shop has made several armchair covers for my leather couch and chair over the years. He always does a spot on job at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Allison K: . He estimated approximately 2 weeks turn around time, but it was ready in 5 days! I could not be more pleased. She's ready to go for another century! Thanks again Jack - I know you work on these old machines because you love them, not because a tune up is particularly profitable for you ☺️

Anorexic Panda: The professionalism with which they open and close seams on your thickest winter jackets is impeccable!👏 Ideas they come up with to fix your stuff are fantastic. The look of your clothes after fixing is so professional. I highly recommend this place☀️

An Vi: Don't throw away your clothes that you think are unfixable. Take them to this shop and they'll do an amazing professional job you'll never be able to tell there used to be a cut, a rip, a hole, a snap missing.. They'll brainstorm the best solution possible to your problem, their prices are low for the fantastic professional quality they provide.👏

Dymain Panday: Shortened the sleeves on my jacket just the way I wanted. Great service and work. Thank you!

Britty Bear: Highly recommend! A gentleman helped me out last minute with my sons Halloween costume - very friendly, very quick service!

Umm e Ryan: sewing Center

Kim Branezac: Lovely small business owners who would do anything to make customers happy. For the person who reported that his 80 year old mother was ripped off, she returned her machine and then had them repair her old machine at the same price. When reviewing it’s usually a good idea to tell truth. The rest of the reviews tell the truth about what an amazing business this is.

Angie Nesbitt: Very Nice people in there. Very honest and helpful. Much easier to deal with than other local sewing stores. Would highly recommend.

RoKCRWLR Offroad: Great service and honest business owner

Tammy Sorento: excellent workmanship and fair prices

Linda Woods: Great service and really decent prices.

Liaison College Hamilton: what do users think?

Gary Hill: I graduated from Liaison College April 20, 2018. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to become a chef or even if you only want some basic cooking skills. I initially signed up to do the “Cook Basic” course. I was having such a good time learning and applying what they taught us that I went and got a loan and signed up for the “Advanced” class. I am now working as a cook and I love it. Christine Demko and her staff go above and beyond for their students. The instructors are top notch and the class sizes are relatively small. They will help you find a job after you graduate and even if you’re looking for another job 5-10 years later they will still help you. It was a very good experience. If you’re thinking of becoming a chef or just want to learn more in the kitchen for your family, then I highly suggest you look into Liaison. I’m happy I did. Thank you Liaison for making my dream come true!!

Emily Adams: Positive:Communication

David Rochon: Great staff

Frank Pizzacalla: but Brantford school is a joke in it self went there and drop out because they where not teaching me what i need to learn or know :

Ester Samarita: I love cooking even when I was young. And I dreamed of becoming a chef one day. I came to Canada as a Live-in caregiver or nanny. I worked for a family for more than 4 years, but my dream did not stop there. When I was given the chance to go to school, I looked around for a good culinary school and found Liaison College through the billboard advertisement in the streets of Hamilton. And I looked in the internet the nearest branch of Liaison College in my workplace and the culinary program they are offering. Upon checking their website, I saw an opportunity because they have this part-time course for Diploma Cook Basic program that suits my work schedule. So, I went in Liaison College at Jackson Square branch to enroll and found it very interesting. The instructors were very helpful making it sure that we the students will learn the basic techniques of not only cooking but also baking. Our practical lessons helped me developed my skills and broaden my knowledge in cooking, giving me confidence to do such job. I am now working as a Sous Chef at Charred Rotisserie House. And I thanked Liaison College for helping me achieve my dream.

Brett Nuttall: of the college are all factors in my accomplishments, because they wanted me and each student alike to succeed. I would recommend Liaison College Hamilton, to anyone that have serious aspirations to work with food.

Robert Doolittle: I started at Liaison college in October, after already having 8 years in the industry I thought school would be easy, Chef Steve taught me to take better care of the ingredients and use the information provided, along with theory and terms. Now in the advanced portion of my term Chef Dan a C.C.C Chef is teaching us how to run our kitchens and take our knowledge and passion and let it show in our food, Chef Dan is teaching us the importance of being on time and showing up to class. Murline,Angee,Nicole are the heart of Liaison and make every attempt and effort to make things run smoothly, Liaison is a small family always available to offer guidence to help you further your career.Robert DoolittleChef De Cuisine 2016

Melissa Schilz: Small class sizes, a flexible course schedule and the ability to complete the entire program in an eight month period led me to enrol at Liaison College Hamilton Campus.I was someone who already had a “career”, but I was unhappy. I wanted change and the chance to learn the required skills to pursue my true passion....cooking.Upon my first meeting with Chef Daniel I knew Liaison was the right choice for me. I was given many options as far as scheduling, course dates and financial options.Throughout my eight months at Liaison I was engaged and challenged by both Chef Dan and Chef Steve daily to be better and do better. The small class sizes made for an optimal learning experience. All of my questions, concerns or any feedback I feel I needed were always available immediately. My time at Liaison was the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. Murline, Nicole, Chef Dan and Chef Steve were an amazing support system for someone going through a major career change. I always felt like a family member and was never treated as “just a student”.I developed several friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Chef Dan and Chef Steve continue to mentor me to this day and have guided me into my new career. Their support and guidance means more than they will ever know.I am now employed full-time at an award winning winery in the Niagara Region. The skills and training I received at Liaison led me to a promotion and a raise within my first five months of employment!Melissa S.Chef de Cuisine Diploma completed October, 2014.

Rob Balla: Great School! I Love It!
