Whitehern Historic House and Garden: what do users think?

Mariya G-va: Marvelous museum at the very centre of city! and the very professional guide will provide an interesting excursion through all the house for you [ even if you are an only one visitor! ].

E Lala: This house is beyond beautiful with an interesting family history. A very unique home and, although it’s smaller than Dundurn Castle, the home actually has more to offer in beauty and in engaging stories. So happy I made a trip down to see it. The tour guide was so accommodating and friendly, with a thorough knowledge of the house.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Alan Rodford: Beautiful location in the heart of Hamilton.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

Giovanni Succo: Wonderful tour today at this house. Our guide was great and knowledgeable and the history of the family was fascinating. A must visit for anyone who loves a genuine heritage home.

Maggie M: The history behind this house was very interesting. Not much is curated as everything you see, personal affects, furnishings, and draperies were all donated by the McQuesten family.Visited on Weekday …

Krista Rebekah: Beautiful!!

Ying Fu: It is a nice gem situated in the DT Hamilton. Since all the contents were kept well from the original owner to the city, lots of interesting facts and stories can be easily explored. It is said that one can visit this place free if he/she holds a Hamilton library card. The guided tour is a must to visit the site!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Our guide was very knowledgeable and made our tour both interesting and informative. Entry prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of parking nearby. I would highly recommend this museum as well as many of the other historic sites we have here in Hamilton.

Dundurn Castle: what do users think?

Therese de romas: Great day trip for family. Affordable tour that includes a kitchen demo. Staff are in period attire . Military museum and interesting kitchen garden that lets you smell and taste some fruits and herbs. Kids had fun playing in the military room and trying military clothes on the first floor. Great location for photoshoots. Saw some doing engagement shoots.

Andrew Soulsby: Interesting place. Tour guide was great. I believe her name was Jennifer.Visited on Weekday Wait time 10–30 min Reservation recommended No …

ayesha tasnim: Visited on Weekday

Jason D: , with a thunderstorm appearing at the end of our visit, serving to both clear the park out, as well as dampen our resolve to see the gardens in the back.We took a tour of the estate, while the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, I found it quite disheartening that the estate itself was in an early state of disrepair. It's effective enough to tell a story and tour through, certainly - but compared to similar places in other countries the peeling wallpaper and subtle cracks in the paint, along with some of the warping wood throughout the property leads one to wondering why these things are tolerated when you'd never see anything of the sort in any other commonwealth nations national historic site.Certainly worth a visit, and we would have loved to see the gardens in the back, but don't expect to be blown away with opulence as you might expect from other "castles"

e: Nice place

Hameed Bhatti: Beautiful historic site!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Victoria Kim: Absolutely amazing experience with a tour guide booked in advance, we're able to travel back in those times when Hamilton just started to emerge and establish as a newly built community. Having a tour guide at this place is absolutely necessary as you're going to learn a lot of facts and history, as well as all the questions answered. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to provide the best experience.

Carolyn Ward: A friend of mine and I ventured down to Dundurn Castle today. Our tour guide Moira was amazing. She was very informative and answered loads of questions. Worth the money and I would go again. I took over 80 pics.Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Andria Hexx: but when I stand back there I can imagine how incredible it must have been to live here back when it was in its glory!Definitely wander around & see the buildings besides the house also, my favourite is the little tower in the NE corner but there are a few interesting structures. Every time I come here I find it stirs my imagination and I wonder about the lives of the people who stayed here...Sad this place hasn't had the upkeep it deserves---it could be a real gem for the city & would be the perfect place for weddings and big events. But it remains a diamond in the rough until then.I would totally volunteer to do some work or groundskeeping here!

Nicole: Really cool place to visit, abandoned asylum with really cool history. You can't get inside but you can walk all around the buildings. Really gives you the creeps when you know the history behind the place.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

That Guy: I've always wanted to see what's inside but I wouldn't recommend it since there's probably asbestos everywhere, so beautiful though

Tanveer Virk: This place is eerie. if you're a horror geek, consider it visiting.

John C: Century Manor has a lot of history some bad some good. If the walls could talk, we would be amazed what really went on inside this now old abandoned building. It's too bad the city has not taken an interest in Preserving this historic place and landmark that people from around the world can come and visit. I believe now it stands to be demolished for a long-term care facility, so sad.

Mike Rozon: Cool place to hike..spotted a fox!The old asylum is there.

Stephanie Keobel: Gorgeous building!Couldn't get inside of course but worth a wander around if you're in the area.

Zachary Curtis: Well maintained property 🤭

Chevy Trucks: Just walked around in the forest on the trails they have thereVisited on Weekend Reservation recommended Not sure …

Helia Oliveira: All I could think about while I was there was, all the sick that gone through the place, and maybe haunt it, I had an eerie feeling. It's very sad that this beautiful abandoned, run down building wasn't restored and use as something good!!

Ben Bondzio: This building needs a revitalization, Architecture is lost on plywood openings. A good Halloween haunt for those looking to be spooked

Kayla Sgrigs: Closed to the public! Looks soo spooky and historical

Ava Kislinsky: Super cool and I always go when I'm in the area. There is always security watching the place so be really careful. You can't get in since the place is boarded within an inch of its life. But still fun to visit.
