Jenny W: I had 2 short stays a few years ago when I was in a bad place and dealing with crippling anxiety and depression, among other things. Then recently, I had a setback and found myself there again. They welcomed me with open arms. There’s an ambience within the house and the staff that make me just feel safer right away, and they’re actively inclusive to all populations, communities, and demographics. There’s diversity of all kinds among staff as well which allows you to hear different perceptives and benefit from several peoples’ experiences.The daily one-on-one sessions are really helpful. I never felt judged. They’re meant to be a place for people in acute crisis, so the stays are short and the focus is on coping skills to get you through the immediate crisis, and providing resources. The resources tend to be places you can seek longer term or more tailored support, and actual techniques to get thorough crises.I’m so grateful to know that Barrett House is there if things go really bad. I feel stronger after my stay and I’m armed with new skills and resources. Every staff I’ve met has been kind, patient, professional, empathetic, and supportive. I hope to be in a position one day to be able to support Barrett House. They take people who are at their lowest low and they coach them to be able to help themselves. I’m sure they can’t save everybody, but they help many people. They’re doing good and important work.

Smith: I am a landlord. ODSP is expected to house everyone, including people who need medical care. It's impossible. Some of these people need ongoing medical attentionAnd it's not fair to anyone. Some need special accommodation. Every day.
Ashley S: It serves its purpose; however once in the office your going to thats a whole different tale. 3rd floor ODSP, 4TH floor Healthcard, 1st floor probation.

Rory Baxter: I really like and appreciate what the Housing Help Centre does. My friend apply to Housing Help Centre to get some help for first and last month rent, as well as a bed. They got there new bed 3 days after applying and rent first and last, was paid in full 2 days after getting the bed. They where able to answer all questions my friend and I had. 100% recommended if you are looking for Housing and/or just need help with rent.
