Nana Anane: So I usually order Party Trays from another place in the city but Saturday around 1pm they were closed so I decided to Google Chinese in the area and stumbled upon East City.I was absolutely thrilled with the party tray I ordered from East City. Despite the short notice, they exceeded my expectations. They don’t joke around with portions; I ended up buying more than enough for less $ than what I buy from the other place. It was just an order of Fried Rice and Spring but I look forward to trying out other items on their menu!

DArcy Wright (Artista): We felt the urge for some Chinese takeout and Must say that we were pleasantly surprised at how consistently excellent everything was. From the ease of ordering to the sincere greeting by the manager at pickup to how incredibly delicious the food was...and all at still very fair prices. I know people from the West mountain that make the drive to U. Ottawa to get their food from here, too. Hard to find a higher compliment than that!

Houseman from The Hammer: I've been going to Shanghai for well over 20 years. The food is always top quality and very consistent. The Chicken Balls are filled with a large amount of chicken breast meat so the meat to batter ratio is far better than most places. Even the Chow Mein and Rice dishes all have white chicken in them. I highly recommend the Soo Guy which is beautifully battered and deep fried chicken breasts. You can order it with sweet and sour, lemon, Shanghai special, mushroom and almond sauce. Another dish I highly recommend is the Beef with Mixed Vegetables. Their Spring Rolls are the best in the city. The rice paper after being filled with superb ingredients is then battered and deep fried. Super delicious. They have some really great combination plates that are a good bang for the buck. Their service is always fast and friendly. Check out Shanghai and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

AL Duncan: We ordered the chicken balls, garlic spareribs, egg rolls, special rice and beef with almonds. The spareribs were the best part: good flavour, moist inside but crispy on the outside! It was all really delicious, freshly made and in good portions. Not salty or oily at all. A good Hamilton mountain spot .
