Jasmine Michaelis: Beautiful view and scenery for photos of the lake and estate. Palm trees give it a tropical vibe like you aren’t in Ontario. Great spot to catch a sunset and you might see swans swimming near by!The food was delicious. I had the chicken gnocchi and the flavour was of one of the best dishes I have had. The server recommended a wine to pair it with and knocked it out of the park, I even had to go back and ask for the name of the wine.There was a live guitarist who set the mood and the atmosphere was made for a nice fine dining experience.Highly recommend for special occasions or events! Rina Alamag: to celebrate my parents' 55th wedding anniversary. A different experience, unfortunately so much less. Our waiter, although very nice, was clearly inexperienced. We had a noticeably long wait to receive our meals; my dad's fillet mignon was not prepared to specification. When we protested, our waiter took it to the kitchen, then returned it back to us insisting it was cooked as asked. Only when we cut into the meat to show it was overcooked that he took it back to the kitchen. My dad only received his meal when everyone else was already on desserts. No apologies, no acknowledgement of the mistake. The kitchen was definitely off this night. Also, there were not one but two flies that kept pestering us all evening! Was expecting so much more.July visit: My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here. The service is top notch, the food delicious with most everything prepared perfectly. The seared scallops melted in our mouths, however, the pork belly, while seasoned well, could have had crisper skin; it was rather chewy. I felt we were treated a little extra special given the special occasion. Truly appreciate this! Also there was a beautiful sunset! Highly recommended.

Maya Gdalska (mspace): Beyond a 10/10 experience. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely and comforting and welcoming, the drink list incredible including the mock tails. The wait staff was beyond wonderful, Brian and Kyle made the experience so relaxing and blissful by being very friendly and knowledgeable of drinks and food, having some fun banter and ensuring we had everything we could ever need, including bearing with us waiting out some short rain to enjoy one more patio day for the summer. Will absolutely be visiting again and recommending!

Leslie Alvarez: Excellent hidden gem in Hamilton! My boyfriend and I were in town for a concert and decided to grab a bite at this restaurant,We got the house burger and the roaster chicken, the best food I’ve had in a long time! We will drive from Mississauga again just to eat there it’s really good!! Definitely worth to check out if you’re in town.

Colin Gagich: Had a great time here with the family for a birthday celebration. Staff are courteous and professional. Every dish we had was well received and the specials are intriguing enough to go back. I'd recommend the Beef Carpaccio as a must.Only issue was the atmosphere, it wasn't very lively and does feel like a dead restaurant. This could have been the time of day or day of week but it's noticable. Also with the open floor plan it's especially obvious when the restaurant is empty. I hope this can be turned around, I'd want nothing less for this beautiful establishment!

Randy G: Party of 4, on a Saturday evening. We ate on the patio which is set beside the main building, back from the sidewalk. Very nice atmosphere for dinner, little street noise. Our server was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed appetizers, mains and dessert. The Key Lime tart was excellent. The interior of the tavern is quite elegant, and we’d definitely recommend, except for the Chocolate crème Brûlée which was more of a chocolate pudding and overly sweet.

Manu Br: The restaurant has a cool theme, service was fast and efficient and we loved their food and drinks. Their menu had quite a few unique options that I haven't seen in other places. We tried the chicken liver brulee, the lamb blanquette in a blanket and the rabbit and wild pheasant lasagna in addition to a few cocktails. Everything tasted excellent. I was actually hesitant because I usually do not like the taste of lamb nor rabbit but the food was delicious here. Glad I decided to try something different, it was worth it and I recommend.**Edit: for drinks, we tried the daiquiri, the new york sour and the suns out buns out cocktails. I liked them all but suns out buns out was my favourite.

No issues finding a spot but at busy times you may be far from the door.Wheelchair accessibility: Although there are places in the dining room which require stairs there is plenty of accessible seating. My family is both large and strange and we always get excited in public, so thank you to the staff for making it a special evening for all, my mother loved her 'alternative beverage'. I've not been to this location previously and so my only question is whether all the waiters are as handsome as Nick, or is he just exceptional? I suspect the latter but am open to a discussion about it. Thanks again!
KVan: I went in to read my book in the bar and have dinner alone. The server was incredibly kind, attentive, but also understood I wanted to read so did not hover. I read in the bar area, and although it was busy, I had selected a table that afforded some privacy and was a little quieter, which was really great for trying to read. Food was phenomenal! I had a baked garlic shrimp to start, which was very cheesy and the perfect size. I had the Oscar Sirloin, Chicago Style, cooked Medium Rare, with No Scallops and Garlic Mash. They gave me extra shrimp to make up for the scallops and the steak was cooked to perfection.A wonderful experience overall.Parking: Lots of space around and each spot felt close to the door.

Dawn Stowell: Exceptional experience. My reservation for two changed and I still went and very glad that I did. I ordered their Gluten Free Flourless Chocolate Torte. Tortes for those who don't know are made with a higher ratio of eggs and butter and as such a much smaller portion is usually the way to go. As a chocolate lover this was a fantasy come true. The density/texture balanced between fudge and a brownie was superb. The depth of chocolate taste was deep and luxurious. The sugar content was a perfect nudge down allowing for the chocolate flavour to reign. The presentation was lovely and the berries were carefully selected for peak ripeness and taste. They contrasted beautifully with the torte. I ordered a single scoop of quality French vanilla icecream for $1.50 additional. This allowed for a palette cleanser effect of sorts in between bites. I savoured this experience. My server was pleasant and not overly "nice,' and this was welcome and refreshing. For a Tuesday at 5 this restaurant had only two patrons, which was fine by me. My bill came to $10.74 and left enough room for a healthy tip. The server told me that the menu will be changing in a couple of weeks. I pray that when I return in about 4 weeks that this glorious dessert will still be offered.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available.
Alan Strang: First time dining at Chagalls, great service and food, Sweet potato waffle fries could have been hotter, so fabulous waiter compt desert. He was a great server. Nailed my steak doneness right on. Our friends Cob salad and Jambalaya were also well recieved.Some of the decor could use some attention, overall a great pre- HPO dinner.Water with sliced cucumber was a refreshing touch.

I actually ordered the local IPA on tap and it was out, so my waitress brought another Ontario-made option in a can, just in case, rather than coming empty-handed. When she brought the bill, she explained that they didn't seem to have a price for it and she charged me half of what I would have expected to pay! Glad I chose to leave Honest Lawyer for this place instead. I had the turkey burger to eat and it was delicious, too!

The chef has a gift beyond talent, I’m completely blown away but the quality, execution and consistency of my meals here. PERFECT octopus, beyond flavourful and silky risotto, thick cut salmon, it’s unmatched. Price point is reflective of the quality your getting, it’s high for the area but I prioritize an above and beyond meal here over even my other favourites. It’s incomparable. Ricky and Gary remember absolutely everything from my visits when I come through, they are both so personable and work together well to make us laugh and feel so welcomed and catered too. They indulge me completely and I truly feel like I’m being hosted by friends. Highly highly recommend. Go see the renovation alone, it’s magic how they transformed that space and refreshed such beautiful features in the building. I love their taste in decor. Truly a place to impress. I started with the wedge salad, scallops and ordered the tenderloin with the lyonnaise potato and vegetables as my main. delores maas: We attended the Conversate Restaurant originally for my daughters birthday in April and we experienced a couple of new opening learning issues that had nothing to do with the exceptional food. We spoke with Jessica and she handled our situation in such a positive and appreciative manner that we returned and received a personal treatment that was above and beyond what I have experienced anywhere. The food was exceptional, our server was knowledgeable about the food and made excellent suggestions to help us choose from the many delicious sounding dishes. We had a beautiful tomato based butter with soft warm bread. We each had a delicious appetizer, entree and shared desserts. We enjoyed our meals with wine and would highly recommend you plan to make attending this restaurant a relaxed experience and enjoy without rushing through each course.
