4worldlovers: Highland Dancing is a traditional athletic solo dance form originating from the Highlands of Scotland. It is often performed to Scottish bagpipes or other upbeat Celtic music. In its current form, dancers can compete at outdoor Highland Games and other indoor competitions under the governance of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.

4worldlovers: Welcome to Defining Movement Dance, or DMD as we like to call it. We are Hamilton’s only Hip-Hop & Street Dance focused dance studio, where students of all ages have the opportunity to learn about the foundations, the culture, and it's history through in-person programs with encouraging, passionate and knowledgeable instructors. With programs in Breaking, Popping, Locking, Hip-Hop, All Styles & Freestyle, Parent & Tot Hip-Hop and Adult drop-in classes, we have something for any dancer interested in the culture. In addition to all of that, we also offer Private and Semi-Private lessons in Jazz-Funk, Salsa, Hustle, Contemporary, Latin and Ballroom.

At DMD the emphasis is on growing in dance and not competition, but we do offer and see value in it. However, learning and enjoying the healthy lifestyle it promotes, the artistic expression it cultivates, the socialization and confidence that can come from it are the most important things to us. We believe every BODY Can Dance! We are built to move, and through dance people can grow in all aspects of their lives.

Since 1999 over 18,000 students have taken dance classes at our location, more than at any other studio in the Hamilton area. We started as a very small school but have grown to become the largest dance school in Hamilton.

As a parent we realize you have a choice between several different dance schools. All studios are not the same. We constantly renovate and improve our facilities and provide ongoing training to our staff to ensure we are always providing our students and parents with the best experience possible.

Our goal as a studio is to provide an entertaining, fun, and social atmosphere for learning many different styles of dance. We provide dances such as: Ballroom and Latin in, social and international, for pleasure and competitions. We cater to kids, adults, couples and weddings. We offer Ballroom and Latin to adults and children. We also have ladies classes such as: Ladies Latin Rhythm, Belly Dancing, Yoga, Line Dancing, Stretch and Fitness. For kids and teens we have Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lip-synching, Theatre Dance, and Video Jazz. We hold lessons 6 days a week for various dances.
