4worldlovers: There is no better way to gain an appreciation for nature, wildlife, and yourself then by spending time outdoors seeing how beautiful and diverse the Great Lakes are. By learning to kayak you can unlock a totally different perspective on the region.
Camp on an island in Georgian Bay, tame the currents of the mighty St. Lawrence River, see the wild coastline of Lake Superior or learn to surf on Lake Erie.
In level 2, it is time to start venturing off into coastal waters. This program is offered in two options:
Option 1: Tobermory Basecamp: Best suited to people who prefer not to do backcountry camping or would like to have a greater emphasis on individual skills.
We camp in a single front country camp spot in a beautiful location. Each morning we do a weather forecast as a group and pick a world class launch spot on the Saugeen/Bruce Peninsula to explore and learn.
Option 2: Instructional Touring (Fox Islands, Moon River): Best suited to people who are confident in their skills.
We do an expedition style instructional tour. The course is a 4-5 day consecutive trip. We will explore a beautiful and special location, while going over the program.
Option 3: Park and Play (Toronto, Niagara): There is no camping in this program. We meet each morning at a local launch spot. Toronto is accessible by public transit.

Richard Culver: Just finished a pool course.Time & money well spent.Simply awesome.Aaron and Brandon inspired confidence in this novice kayaker. Fantastic to be taken from "being apprehensive about capsizing" to "practicing proper rescue & getting back on board safely". PLUS attempting rolls. I am over 60 but believe with Aaron's instructions I might be able to complete a roll even if my hips don't move like Shakira. This definitely left me wanting another lesson.Added bonus, you get to do this learning in a Nigel Dennis Kayak. Those are definitely top quality.

Susan McLachlan: My introduction to sea kayaking was with Kayak Ontario this June for the Level 1 course. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be on the water. You learn skills that force you to be more comfortable on and in the water including wet exits and assisted and non assisted reentry. The paddle strokes taught are beneficial even with our recreational kayaks. We enjoyed the course so much my partner ordered a kayak for delivery this fall and I just picked up my very own Delta Blue. I recommend Kayak Ontario courses, services, and awesomeness to anyone interested in anything kayak related. Special thanks to Aaron and Lydia for the great instruction during th course and for all of our classmates for being so great as well. Can't wait to hit the water more confidently and of course keep on practicing.

La Dementor: Amazing experience everytime we've been there. If you're doing the longer route from Paris, must try the fresh water springs on the way, they are so cool and refreshing.River water is clean mostly, mud looks muddy at several spots. Also, there can be bugs closer to the shore in some areas, so make sure that the area is clean before you decide to take a dip.

john p: Overall positive experience. Things to watch out for...The grand river rafting is inside grand river conservation park. Forget the Jennings road.Your entrance fee to the provincial park is included with your rafting fee and if you wish to swim in the beautiful provincial outdoor pool you pay a mere $2.50 per person.... a great surprise bonus!We were surprised with some basic safety measures missing such as flimsy wobbling hand rail steps down to the water with a big drop that could be a problem for most older adults.The students working seemed to be serious and somewhat disconnected and disinterested in their duties. One of the owners spoke and was knowledgeable yet not very practical with giving specifics on how to guage just where you were in the journey.We expected staff to be coming along the journey in case of anyone needing assistance, but no.... you are totally on your own whether you know what you are doing or not....they said the water was only 3 feet deep... that is incorrect.... I checked several times an found at times it was 5 to 6 feet deep also ...There needs to be more markers on the way to indicate where you are on your journey so you can at least tell someone where you are in case of needing help.... I only noticed one sign I happened to accidentally view since the floating tube I was using does spin around once In a while.Overall it was a peaceful and fun activity that we were pleased we went on. Fortunately everything went well.Well priced for what you get I felt. It was fun.
Erika Theis: This was our fourth visit, first time on the 2 person yak rather than the turbo tubes. It was a cloudy day and chilly but ended up have a great time anyway! Looking forward to visiting next summer again.

It would have been more fun if individual turbo tubing was chosen. Since water current flow is medium, it was tough to raft.Staffs and guides are awesome, they explained the routes very well.Overall, it's a thrilling activity that's definitely worth trying if you're seeking an outdoor adventure
