Michaela Storoschuk: A very unique and niche bookstore that hosted a lovely art show. The vibes were thoughtful, lowlit and green. The people were kind and informative. The book selection itself was the most curated that I’ve ever seen before with books fanning from pop fiction, history, religious texts and smut. 10/10

Peter Vander Klippe: Epic books is a great neighborhood book store. They don't have a deep selection in store but what they have is all very good. Also you can get them to order basically anything in for you that you could want. Great place to go if you are looking for a recommendation, less so if you are looking for an obscure book that you don't want to wait for them to order for you. Staff are excellent, very friendly, and the store is clean, well lit, and well taken care of.

Josiah Nahwegahbow: The most amazing little bookstore. You have to call to make an appointment, but it's absolutely worth it. May seem odd to do so, but it's easy to make happen. If you are a bookworm or love cozy bookstores, then you have arrived. The owner was lovely and very helpful!

Shopping right now is limited to appointment only but that is more than acceptable given the currently situation our city is dealing with. We are all in this together. Nik Crawford: An appealingly appointed book store, it's like stepping into someone's curated personal study. A wide variety of aged and rarer volumes. Less selection of more contemporary titles than other used bookstores in the downtown area and a little pricier all around. That being said, the proprietor was extremely helpful and very friendly, and the quality of the older books was excellent.

Charles Small: but everything is extremely well-organized: history, psychology, religion, philosophy, classic literature, biography, literary fiction, gender studies, black literature, world literature, anthologies, poetry and more, all have their sections, and there is always a good turnover. Don't miss the downstairs -- there is a huge collection of science ficton and fantasy, including classic, pulp, retro, plus occult, crime fiction, classic Penguins, young adult lit and more.
Cindy: An incredible bookstore with a huge variety of new and old books, reasonable prices and really lovely people running the shop.
Tim Reynolds: West Side Stories is an excellent book store that has quality items in it. The people who run the store are very knowledgeable and very helpful in regards to books. Pricing is fair in there. They are definitely following covid-19 guidelines and the store is very clean. It is also very organized and I had no trouble finding what I wanted in there. They also carry an interesting selection of rare books I highly recommend this store

Nick cabral: I Haven’t bought a book in years, recently found one I was really interested in. Called the store pretty close to closing not only did she help me locate the author!I was told I could place a pre order online so when it hits Canadian shelf’s I can get it delivered right to me! phraseography: Really nice bookstore, composed of three well layed out rooms. Tons of new and used books. The lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful. Parking on the street is easy to find. It is in a bit of a rough neighborhood.
Chris Wilson: There's something magical about The River Trading Company. It's the place you go if you're a lover of books. You could easily spend an hour browsing through the huge selection of quality books. I picked up 10 books for less than the price I would pay for two new hard covers. Super knowledgeable staff. Plenty of choices for whatever you love to read.
Stan Barber: Great selection and prices. Never really know what you'll find here. I've always gone with a couple things in mind--sometimes I've found them, sometimes not. But even when I don't find what I intended, I still leave having found something else. I think The River is also set apart from other stores by how well it's organized. Everything is arranged by genre and in alphabetical order by author's last name. I've found a lot of used bookstores are sort of chaotic with everything thrown wherever. Not the case here.The two owners are also very friendly and knowledgable. And there are very social cats here. I like this place.

Allison Lucas: Such a neat store! My boyfriend and I went and spent over an hour looking through all the books. The vault was definitely really neat as well- that's where you'll find most of the history books. The prices are pretty good and you'll definitely find unique books you didn't know you even existed but that you won't be able to put down.

Chris A: Really, rest solid backboards. I get the 56pt and they are the best I have seen. I used to use Bill Cole for 30 years, going back to as a kid. But the founder retired and things don’t seem the same. Ran into Comic Pro Line and their acid free bags and boards are great. Very happy with the quality. Shipping is pricey, suggest you wait for a sale or free shipping promo and then just place a large order.

Marc Loev: Comic Pro Line is the best comic bag and Board product I have ever used to protect my comic books. I initially became aware of this product line while watching a social media video reviewing various company’s comic bags. Everyone wants Mylar for its clarity and protective stiffness but they are expensive. Comic Pro Line offers a compound called OPP which is much less expensive than Mylar but looks and feels similar. I purchased the Silver/Reg sized resealable bags and 28pt silver boards. They have been AMAZING!!! So clear and provide the the right thickness and stiffness to keep the books from bending. I have ordered multiple times in large quantities. They arrive quickly and safely. They even place heavy duty thick corner protectors in their large outer boxes to protect their boards from crush or corner bends while in shipping. I have never had any boards arrive damaged unlike some other companies I’ve used. Service is amazing- a small closely held business that understands customer relations. Try their OPP bags- I can’t say enough.I am a relatively new customer and received nothing by their company for this unsolicited personal review.
