Linda Kennedy: My daughter calls me a wine snob, as I am very choosy about what wine I will drink. She took me here for my birthday in July of 2018 and I was WOWED! I have been back many times since…it is my favourite place to go for wine! Great wine choices and the food and service is fabulous! My favourite food is the White Cheddar Fondue paired with a Malbec Wine! It has a quiet, romantic atmosphere where you can talk, eat, and drink! I Love this place!

The menu is over complicated on an i pad.Would be great to order your items on the i pad instead of giving the order to a server. Extensive wine list however, when we asked for another bottle of the same wine they did not have it in the cellar. The Charcuterie board was great, lots of variety! I’d suggest the warm sausages on your board.

Stephanie Macdonald: So if you are ever looking for a wine store that has exceptional customer service than this is the store for you. I happened upon this store years ago when I was hosting a wine and cheese night for some friends and I had first stopped at Paddy’s Cheese and they had recommended that I stop at The Wine Cellar to pick up my wine and they would help me pair my wine with my cheese. So I wondered over and sure enough the gentleman asked us a few questions and before we knew it we had a few bottles of wine for our cheese night.

Elizabeth S: I went to the Wine Cellar for the first time yesterday to buy a gift for someone. I was greeted by the very friendly and helpful Ruth. As a tea totaler, I know nothing about wine. Ruth was very patient and showed me multiple and affordable options. Within 10 minutes, I left with 2 bottles of while, gift wrapped in a very cool carrier. Ruth even opened the door to send me off. What a pleasant experience. I'll definitely purchase gifts from here in the future!

LSTT: We saw a sign on highway 14 that said "Turn left for Barr Estate Winery." So, we did. It's not polished, but rather genuinely rustic and quaint. The small tasting room is also the fermenting and bottling room."The Barb" rhubarb is a sweet and tart wine that exposes the real flavour of the fruit. You'd better love raspberries to try "The Other Red," and the Ruby fortified sour cherry wine belongs on my ice cream. And if you drizzle some over your ice cream, then it also becomes my ice cream.Barr winery is a lovely afternoon out with family or friends, and just minutes from the city.

Janice Bossmin: Our Wine Tasting with Carole was such a pleasant experience. Carole’s knowledge of the red, rose and sparkling wines chosen was so appreciated. She came on time, delighted us with stories of the wines and their histories, and set up a sumptuous charcuterie board. Her energy was infectious. We learned lots and would definitely book her again.

The wine tasting itself was great and very informative which the guests loved. I had also ordered a charcuterie platter and it was delicious!! We had a Hawaiian themed Bday party and to top it off, if the wine tasting wasn't enough, Carol also does hula dancing and she asked if she could do a dance at the end of the tasting. Needless to say, this was the absolute homerun and my wife was practically in tears with the gesture. Ty Hawn (hawnted): Wonderful selection of wines.. I am always well received in this store, in spite of my colorful presence. They lack a little bit when it comes to their choice of spirits, they do have a selection of local premixed drinks, and I think I saw a big beer cooler. The staff are knowledgeable and always quite friendly and upbeat. If it wasn't indicative of a drinking problem I would try to spend more time here than I already do. Great liquor store.. better local wine cellar.

All the food was so amazing that I forgot to take pictures. It was all flavourful, tasty, and well seasoned. Each of us had a different favorite dish but also enjoyed everything.My favorite was the Gnocchi with mushroom and cherry sauce, followed closely by the Bacon.The only drawback from the night was that nearby parking was pretty expensive but also not unexpected for the neighborhood.
Ivy L: I love going to Tzin whenever I'm in Edmonton. I hate Edmonton but Tzin is one of the only things that makes Edmonton bearable for me. I might be biased though because tapas are my favourite type of food.The food is definitely pricy for small portions, but that's generally how it goes for tapas. I think considering how delicious the food is, the price tag is fair. The Bacon is phenomenal. My husband doesn't generally like bacon, but at Tzin, he ate most of the dish that we were sharing. I also really enjoyed the sea salt and caramel steak. Wood smoked caramel drizzled on a medium rare steak is something I never pictured together before, but they really make it work!I was introduced to Tzin from the Downtown Dining Week event and I'm so glad I did. The servers are always attentive and it's such an intimate dining experience.

Daniel Hefkey: Feeling that you are a valued customer is important when you are deciding where to do repeat business. In my case, I was searching for a very particular wine and the sales associate, Connor, was very helpful in securing the wine from their Calgary location.What was outstanding was when I received a call from Connor the next day. He informed me my wine would be going on sale so I should resubmit my order on the day of the sale. That Connor took the time to call was very much appreciated and I bought more than I had originally intended. Bottom line, they know their stuff, have good/varied products, value the customer and as a result, I will buy from HIGHLANDER again.

Cameron Ford: Had a wonderful lunch date with my girlfriend here! Inside is a nice, cozy eating area, and there is a patio out front as well. The staff were friendly and the service was just great. We had the cheeseboard, with 4 cheeses, and I had a mocha. The mocha was really great, and the cheeseboard was surprising filling, and very tasty. I would recommend the Manchego and Beemster XO cheeses!Vegetarian options: Cheese! Sandwiches! Only a few options, but there is a huge selection of cheeses.Parking: There is a mostly empty, small parking lot to the side of the building! We came while the street was closed for an event, so you may find there might not be available parking.

They have a wine preservation system to keep the open bottles fresh, which spares any disappointment at being served a glass of stale wine. No, this place is serious in what they do. The salami was melt.in.mouth. Cheese choices were happily left up to the monger and we ended up doing a tour of Québec. I have had some negative experiences with truffle oil and so was hesitant to try the truffle popcorn but it was prepared with other seasonings and a restrained amount of truffle oil. Really good! Even walked out with a box of crackers and some chocolates. Superb!

David Cuyler: Don isn't just the proprietor at Wine-Kraft, he's the brewing/winemaking Guru. If he doesn't know about it, it likely doesn't exist. I've been going in there for a coupla' decades now, and I'm not convinced I'm considered an "old customer" yet. If you're experienced brewer or a "noob", give him a try. Don't blame me if he gets you "hooked" on winemaking.
