Léon Anthony: I'm aware of This gym beening around since the 80's but I'd be surprised if it's been since the 70's. If you are looking for the Globo gym workout this isn't the place to be. This is more of an athletic gym, no mirrors, no selfies;, just chalk, squats, good morning, clean pulls and PRs. Work gets done on this gym.

Larry Yang: This is a real Olympic weightlifting club with a real veteran coach. Great training environment for beginners and experienced lifters alike. Full eleiko sets and individual platforms for everybody. Ample parking space.

Daniel talked to me about the benefits of kickboxing, and what I was looking for from this type of training. He explained the warm-up and cool down/stretching exercises and why they are beneficial and how they fit in. He took the time to reshow me, and breakdown the movements when I asked, and forgot. He never once made me feel like a failure or like I embarrassed myself. He is friendly, very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. The energy and excitement he gives makes for an amazing class!!!My class was based out of F.R.E.E Fitness, such a great new gym, easy to find, lots of parking, great hours and staff. Lots of equipment, and so many different services offered. Very very clean and well lit, great set up and friendly members. I’ve worked out in different gyms, but when I walked into F.R.E.E Fitness, it felt like “home”, a great atmosphere and great gym!!!!!

Not only are the coaches energetic and fun but they are supportive and create such a welcoming and safe environment. Nick and Hannah are excellent coaches that have helped me meet my weightlifting goals with programming and support that has kept me balanced and injury free. Weightlifting is technical and hard to pick up without a coach, so if you are looking to get into it I couldn’t think of a better way. Also, the group is diverse in skill set and age; it really is for anyone.

Rebecca Warren: I wasn't intending on having a lifting coach when I met Hannah but after our first session together I was hooked. I went from hating the gym to waking up at 5am to go happily. Three years later and I'm incredibly thankful I said yes to the initial session. Hannah is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and without I'm sure I wouldn't have made the progress I have. She's literally on my list of reasons why I don't want to move to another city.

ryan pappano: Best gym in edmonton, hands down

kdawgmaster: I will support all the evolve locations. The north end, compared to the south, is very similar, just with some mild changes. Theblonger turf, something i didn't end up using during my week of use, looked like it was an awesome spot for a person to really push themselves with sled pushes and such. It appeared to be about double, maybe a little more, compared to the Edm south location.The gyms atmosphere is INSANELY inviting, and one of the things i like about Evolve is the lack of mirrors. Mirrors are distracting, and often, when used, can cause people to break form as they try to inspect themselves doing the exercise.Even though i was a member and informed the staff that this was my first time there, they still did a walk through with me, thus making the experience universal, which is great.Keep up the good work, everyone!!

Fernando Sacluti: I walked in to the facility for the first time and got a good tour from Matt. He showed me all the important things about this place and I’m getting eager to come workout. It’s a “no frills” gym for the most part, for those serious about staying fit. The assortment of free weights and bands are good. I’m not worried about waiting long times for equipment to be available as there is a lot of stuff.

Amandeep Malhi: Great gym to workout at and great trainers as well from what we have seen. This review is more so on a trainer there, Aman Jaggi, but reflects the gym, it’s culture, and facilities as well.We have been training with Aman for the last three months and it has been an amazing step in our fitness journey. He is a gem of a person and trainer.Aman keeps our workouts interesting and exciting by always throwing new thing into the routine, while still keeping the core exercises part of the repertoire. He positively encourages us to push our limits to reach new levels of strength and conditioning. We have surprised ourselves with the progress we have made.Aman genuinely cares about our fitness and checks in outside of workout days to see how we are progressing. He also offers advice on eating healthy and how a proper diet can lead to better results in the gym. With Aman, we get someone who is there to listen, motivate, and provide valuable advice whenever needed.Going to the gym can seem hard but on our days training with Aman, we always make it out and it is something that we look forward to. The feeling of having pushed ourselves to our limits has had a positive impact in our lives.We are grateful to have Aman as our trainer and look forward to continuing to work out with him at Evolve.

Bob Macklon: Liz Macklon In January 2023 I made the decision that I needed to work with a personal trainer as I was having more and more difficulty just accomplishing activities of daily living such as being afraid of falling down when outside and not being able to get up, having trouble getting up from low chairs, going up stairs and having to use both feet on each step.I have now been working with Aman three times a week for seven weeks and have seen a vast improvement in many areas. My balance has improved greatly.I can walk further when shopping without my legs hurting and feeling weak.I can now stand up unassisted from a low gym bench. I have much more flexibility in my limb movements.I had a rotator cuff injury in my left shoulder over a year ago and had been having physio for most of that time. Since starting the gym exercise I have much more pain free movement and the arm is a lot stronger.Attending the gym has also provided much needed structure in my day. I always have an increased energy level after my hour with Aman at the gym. I have more confidence in what I can accomplish.Aman is a wonderful instructor. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He explains everything well as well as demonstrating the exercises with rationale for them and always ensures that I understand.

Ryan: Of all the commercial gyms I've had an opportunity to visit, I've never been to one with such an inclusive and wholesome community as Evolve South. That, combined with the excellent equipment available makes it an obvious choice for any serious fitness pursuits.

Jennifer Nealon: Amazing atmosphere and the instructors are very helpful to everyone’s individual needs. Even though the workouts are small groups, I feel supported and guided in a non-judgmental space. Booking the workouts is easy on the app and you are able to follow up with the trainers directly whenever you need. The other athletes are very friendly and hold you accountable, as in you want to keep coming back to see your new friends! I highly recommend checking out this gym!

Claudio Anders: When I joined BB I was not a fan of group fitness however what Anthony and the team over at BB have built is so much more than a group fitness class. The classes are limited to a handful of individuals at a time and the workouts are tailor made for maximum performance. I gained 5lbs of muscle in one month and gained a substantial amount of strength. More than that the small class sizes promote a sense of community and I found myself looking forward to every session not only for the workout but for the people and coaches that create the soul of this facility. Everyone is at a different level and everyone encourages each other. Between sets we get to idle chat and I got to know some fantastic people. Their workouts helped me achieve my goal of becoming a Correctional Peace officer and at almost 40 years old I was able to perform at a level that suggested I am younger than I am. Unfortunately I’ve had to put aside my time at BB for personal reasons but I find myself thinking about them often and I am looking forward to the day that I can join them again. If you’re looking for a place to learn how to lift weights or challenge yourself as a veteran lifter BB has something for you.

I wanted to get back to exercising regularly, but I wasn't at all keen to start going to a giant gym.The Barbell Base turned out to be the perfect alternative. The staff are all fantastic and attentive during workouts, correcting form and keeping everyone on track. The workouts are varied and really well balanced, with something different to do every day.Best of all, the atmosphere and sense of community at the gym is incredible. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly and are generally there just to get healthier. It makes for a really low pressure environment and with the small class sizes it feels like going to work out with a bunch of friends rather than a bunch of faceless people who are only in it for the gainz.

Liam Johnson: Great gym with top of the line equipment and wonderful facilities. It can get quite busy during peak hours but the sheer number of squat racks makes it more manageable. The only thing that would make this a 5 star review would be making it a 24 hour accessible gym. As a shift worker the weekend hours can be difficult to work around and I find myself frequently unable to go to the gym because of this. Other than that though I have no complaints. The facility is clean and updated. The equipment is top notch, and the staff are friendly and helpful. On site physio, chiro, massage, and personal trainers are a big plus too

Marco Katz Montiel: A glitch at the beginning gave me an opportunity to appreciate the excellent management of this gym. I have never seen a business deal with a problem so quickly. Now that Tyler got it all cleared up, I am glad to have a monthly membership at a fine facility right in my neighborhood. This clean place has well-maintained equipment, excellent changing facilities, and friendly staff members ready to help whenever needed. I look forward to having this as my workout home for a long time to come.

John Dmytryszyn: Hands down the best gym in the city for the following reasons;The facility itself and the equipment are in immaculate condition, well maintained and always clean. The staff work around the clock to make this possible and despite that are always happy to help answer any questions or provide assistance when required. Beyond that, the trainers at this gym are top tier in knowledge and experience, providing industry leading advice and tips on achieving goals. To go further, the staff and members both work to create a culture that welcomes newcomers, encourages growth, supports a healthy lifestyle and above all else; creates comradeship.All of the above is due in large part to the manager Sadie, who goes above and beyond everyday to ensure these principles and practices are delivered with excellence. Truly wouldn’t be the same without her diligence, huge props deserved.All in all, definitely glad I signed up here, you will be too.

Arthur Sutherland: I have been going to this gym since December of 2022, and quite frankly it has to be the most pleasant experience I've had. This is coming from someone who has gone to LA Fitness, Goodlife, Fit4Less and felt underwhelmed by services they tender.The staff have essentially encouraged me to be the most active I can and they even pushed me to achieve my goals as much as they could.It's probably the cleanest gym I've seen, the manager Zoe is always on the floor cleaning, dusting and interacting with members, always happy to have a quick chat and see how your doing.I've never once seen Zoe in a bad mood or unwilling to assist with anything, I've even had her be my spotter for some heavier lifts I was doing.The trainers here are talented and also very good at pushing you, I train with Eric and no matter what I ask from him he always has an answer and is willing to take steps to try and help.The other members here are incredibly respectful of one another and I've never felt slighted or harassed by anybody.It's even gone so far as becoming friends with some of them. I've even had other members just mention how much progress they've seen from me which is such a motivational aspect.Honestly just top notch service from this gym. I've already referred 5 other people here just cause of how inclusive the place feels#soyboys reign supreme

Io Yoda: There’s all these cars parked all over the building that you can’t seem to find a spot that’s close enough to get into the health club. You have to go there at the end of hours like after 9 o’clock at night or before 6 AM other than that it’s a average self-serve health club
