Uncle Ed's Ukrainian Restaurant: what do users think?

LeeAnne Wojciechowski: The food here was excellent! Fresh and tasted great! Our server has short blonde hair, I forget her name but she was so kind and very attentive. I came here with my grandmother on Aug 24 around 11:10am, she got borscht and I had the crepe, cabbage rolls and meatballs. When we were paying, I hope that same server noticed I put 10$ in the tip jar for her, my grandmother put maybe 1.50$ because I told her I would put the bigger tip in. I'm just not sure the server noticed and mightve thought we only put the 1.50. Next time, I'll leave it on the table so she can see we appreciated her service allot. We'll definitely be back, the food was absolutely great!

Roy Eykelbosh: Have eaten here many times. The food is always excellent. I've had more ethnically correct Ukrainian food at events in Alberta towns with a history of Ukrainian immigrant settlement. Uncle Ed's is as close to the real Ukrainian deal as you'll find in ethnically diverse Edmonton. I had the meatballs dinner which was great and Judy had the cabbage roll 1/2 dinner. Both dinners had cabbage rolls, perogies, crepes, meatballs etc, just more meatballs on mine and more cabbage rolls on Judy's.The service was good, quick and homey casual. The restaurant is part of a restaurant/ethnic food store. I love the frozen borscht but they seem to have reduced the size since pre-covid. I bought two borscht to make up for the size reduction but miss my giant vat of borscht so I took away an atmosphere star.

Red Purse Reviews: This spot is the answer to Ukrainian food as Italian Centre is to Italian. Part shopping, part sit down, delicious meals. Also distribution for mundare sausages. As I was dining I couldn't help but notice this pink guitar. I couldn't read too far away and afterwards, I got up close and it was an auctioned for breast cancer fundraising. Still not sure which musician? Very community oriented and worthy cause.

Shumka Ukrainian Foods: what do users think?

Asian Springroll: Came here this morning and got 4 items. I really enjoyed and lady was very nice to me. I been here many times and I always enjoyed it.I liked the sausage and cabbage roll 3

Louanne Dal Bello: I used to live in Edmonton and my friends and I were talking about our favourite restaurants. When I brought up Shumka, everyone agreed! I lived on Jasper Ave and had to take 3 buses to get there, but it was well worth it. Now I live in the US and it would be several more buses I'd have to take, but I'll tell ya what: it would be worth it. The food is delicious, abundant and fresh. Someone is using their Baba's recipes and it shows.

Роман Букатюк: and nalysnyky were not bad, but way too expensive: 1 CAD for a small piece

Chanelle LaFitte: 100000/10, highly recommend nalysnyky and all the perogiesVegetarian options: very veggie friendly

* Janis *: oh, so good!! It's always ready when you walk in and you can buy premade, frozen to cook at home also. Just love it here

Taste Of Ukraine: what do users think?

Sharon Hawrelak: Best Ukrainian restaurant in Edmonton. Love the authentic decor and the food is delicious. Party of 5 with 2 multiple repeat diners. Traditional Ukrainian food differs by region and can be very heavy but this menu is diverse enough to be reminiscent of the traditional style of my ancestors as well as friendly to the lighter Canadian palate. The "only pickles" were the bomb - loved having less vinegar and a hint of garlic. One of our party of 5 rated the pork cutlet as the best they ever had and all of the dishes were flavourful and excellent quality. The portions were perfect. I make traditional Ukrainian food regularly but with excellent food and service, and affordable prices at Taste of Ukraine, we'll definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and side dish portions are appropriate for children.Dietary restrictions: Traditional Ukrainian food uses a lot of dairy, and I'm slightly lactose intolerant, but I didn't have any problem with the food here.

natalie Szekely: If you like pyroghys you NEED to eat them here. They are so good! And if you love them, take some frozen ones with you.

tracy snow: 1st time there and food was so delicious. Can't wait to go back. ?It started with a little bread and garlic butter. Delicious! We ordered sausage perogies as appetizer. They were divine!Main course was salmon pastry with sauce, potatoes with dill sauce and a Caesar salad. Croutons were melt in your mouth, no joke.My husband had meatballs and gravy and perogies, which he was moaning through each bite. Dessert was a crepe with chocolate and ice cream. Every single bite was a mouth watering masterpiece. I cannot wait to go again. We are planning to bring the in-laws next time. I recommend that if you havent tried this restaurant, you should really go and support this quaint out of the way restaurant for some real at home Ukrainian food ??. Or if you haven't been in awhile, have a visit again. It's worth your while!
