Izakaya Tomo: what do users think?

土萠ほたる: and his friends. The food is out of this world 🌎 and really enjoyed chilling to some authentic J-rock. If I had it my way, I'd eat here daily during my stay in the city.Unfortunately, I live in Vancouver Island and tye pandemic rolled along, then gave the loser the boot while both my girls are now teenagers busy with summer jobs and no longer interested in roadtrip back to the area. However, totally bookmarked this place in hopes I will be able to visit Edmonton again to really relax and eat here again.Kid-friendliness: Good kid-friendly environment. My two daughters felt right at home with the food and music while the staff were very polite and mindful to my girls.Parking: Free parking stalls with ample parking. If only it was that easy in restaurants where I live!

Jonny Vu: Best meal we have had in Edmonton after evacuating. Service was amazing!

Jesse Ertman: Good food! The Edmame was delicious. Had a decent amount of gluten free options and had gluten free soy sauce which was nice. Service was great our waitress was very friendly. If I had to complain about something I'd say the chairs aren't very comfortable. No backs on them, but that shouldn't stop you from going there. Definetly one of the better sushi places in the yeg area! Also service was fast so if you need a quick meal this is the place to go!Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options!

Lydia Chugg: So good and great service!

Andrew Kim: Very good assortment of dishes on menu, sushi and nigiri’s are on point and very fresh, was so full but couldnt stop eating. High quality service and friendly staff Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have clean high chairs readily available, kids cup and bowl as well as kid learner chopsticks 🥢👍🏻

Washoku Bistro: what do users think?

Carly Marie: Cute little spot with a fair sized menu. The portions were great, with amazing flavour. Great little space to meet a friend or take someone on a causal date.Vegetarian options: Limited options for vegetarians, the Yam rolls were a win though.

Love Your Back: We were close in the area when I had a craving for sushi.. after a quick google search this place came up with great reviews and decided to walk in. We were greeted right away, had to wait a few mins for a table but we’re put in one of the rooms: I’m always afraid of out of sight, out of mind.. but we were looked after! Also if they offer you complimentary miso soup, get it! It was warm & yummy! I’m more of a traditional sushi gal, I don’t care much for fancy rolls, so what I ordered was negitoro maki, salmon maki, dynamite & California rolls.. everything was fresh, rolled tight & pretty wasabi flowers. Yummm! We will return!

Yeh Warren: Chicken karaage curry is awesome!

Daniel Jimenez: Food: 5/5Recommended dishes Katsu Don, Hurricane Roll

Twitchy: Had lunch at Washoku on a recent Saturday. I expected it to be busier but there were only 5 other tables occupied. Service was very good. We had the chicken udon, a sashimi & nigiri bento, salmon combo, tuna combo, shrimp combo and a yam roll. The udon soup, rolls and nigiri were all very good and I would give them a 5 star rating. However the bento box had a couple of items that stopped me from giving Washoku an overall 5 star rating. While the bento box was generally very good, the slice of octopus was extremely chewy. Also, the tuna sashimi was very cold, not quite fully thawed out. The salmon sashimi was fine.

Yokozuna: what do users think?

Wai S: I absolutely LOVE this place! This is one of the few Japanese restaurants in the city that keeps it authentic yet still modern! The service from the staff is friendly, professional and quick! The food is always amazing! Portions are a good size and tastes great each and every time! It’s nice that not all the dishes are completely soaked in sauce, I like how everything compliments. Prices are excellent! I was recommended to this place from my Japanese friends and it is my go to!!

THERESA S: We had a lovely dinner at Yokozuna recently. I have learned that the best way to ensure a table is to make a reservation. We shared a large sashimi platter as well as dynamite rolls, California rolls and edamame. Everything was delicious, and the staff were very attentive without hovering. The booth seating offers a little privacy and is ideal for date nights. We will definitely be back.

A Raj: My wife and I finally got to try this place. Excellent customer service! Super friendly and quick. The atmosphere was great, and we loved the little hidden booths on the sides. The food was amazing! We barely used the soya sauce and ate the ginger separately to cleanse oir palate between each roll to get the flavor instead of dumping soya sauce on it and eating ginger together. The quality and taste was fantastic. The price was reasonable. Having tried numerous sushi places in Edmonton, this one is our new favorite. We can't wait to come back!

Cat Tunzon: Celebrated mom’s 65th birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was great and we think the price justifies its taste and serving. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Try the Butakaku for appetizer! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back 🤤Oh, I remembered that it doesn’t have kid’s chair, but my 15mos old didn’t bother and still loved the food!

Let's Grill Sushi & Izakaya: what do users think?

David Duong: Got the Miso ramen, comes with meat, seaweed, corn and an egg.Oddly enough they dont have regular Tonkotsu ramen on their menu. The broth was savory and the noodles were good. The highlight of this restaurant's ramen is definitely the cha shu meat.Very flavorful and seared well, I definitely reccomend getting extra meat. The egg was unmarinated but cooked well. The portions however were a bit lacking, I found myself only relatively full and I even drank all the broth.Coming here was a nice experience, glad I tried it.But if I ever did come here for ramen again, it would just be for the meat.Otherwise there are other ramen places I would rather go.

Jennylyn Villagen: Very good ramen one of the best ramen I had and the staff is nice

Cee Gee: I love the unagi rice bowl. It’s everything in it.The sushi doesn’t taste like fresh compared to other Japanese restos that I’ve been to but it was still good.

Janny Nguyen: The katsu curry and salmon oishi roll was absolutely delicious! The grilled stuff was also really good, especially the Lamb. Would definitely be back!

Taylor Bauwens: Always great food for a great price.

mireille cumine: I can't speak to the other food so much because I only ever have gotten the spicy ramen but holy moly is it good! The service is great. Food is delicious. I could drink that broth with a straw just nothing but broth. It's so good. The tra is really yummy too and the tea pot it came in is really beautiful and now I want one just like it.

Eriq Collantes: Always good food and service. Still one of the best for service and quality

Darryl Molloy: I absolutely love this place! Fantastic food and great value for the money. What's not to like?!Oh wait, there's more! As with almost all of my reviews, it's the staff who either make or break the customer experience.Incredibly kind, funny and a true delight to interact with the staff here. With every visit, they reinforce why I will be a lifelong customer. Great food, great value and fantastic people! Can't recommend this business highly enough!

Shogun Fusion: what do users think?

dudethatscomplex: Great service and even better food!

Kalyshia Lalande: Ordered for delivery. Best damn spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had. Cannot wait to go in person one day and experience the rest of the menu. Absolutely blown away. The pho chef recommended special was incredible and they take such care in their packaging and the portion size was incredible. I am so so happy that I tried this for delivery 10/10 will recommend just based off of this experience. Fresh, flavourful, tasty, delicious. What more could I need. Thank you, Shogun Fusion.

Erica boberica: Shogun downtown just off Jasper Avenue was my first ever Sushi experience in Edmonton almost 20 years ago.I haven't been back since before the goofy Pandemic.Went back tonight. Still just as good! Clean. Friendly quick service. Really good valueRecommend the all you can eat. You can pretty much get everything from the menu including some viet and western choices. Steal of a deal for $39.95.YUM! GO THERE!

Nathaniel Khallil: My fiancé and I just had lunch here! Despite some of the comments/reviews made about the chicken, I found nothing wrong with the taste. That said, the lemon grass beef was incredible.I have not been to every Vietnamese or Japanese restaurant, fusion or not, in Edmonton yet as a base line for my opinion; however, this was easily the most delicious beef I have eaten in Edmonton in months. To be clear, I'm not suggesting that other restaurants in Edmonton do not also have nice Japanese food or serve poor quality food. The meat served to me was just so delicious, that Shogun will easily be my first choice when I invite guests/friends or family out for dinner going forward. I am usually quite picky with meat when I eat out, too.Next time, I'll give the pork a try as well, but do yourself a huge favour and try the lemon grass beef when you visit. The thin strips of beef were thinly cut, charred wonderfully and packed with flavour. I had it is part of a main menu offering, but regretted not ordering the AYCE specifically because of how darn delicious the beef was once I learned it was available for AYCE, too.

Emil Yim: Shogun Fusion, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Edmonton, is a culinary revelation. Despite being open for just a year, this restaurant has managed to create a dining experience that transports you straight to Japan, right from the heart of Alberta. The interior design is a marvel, beautifully capturing the essence of Japanese aesthetics. It's a setting that perfectly complements the food, which is nothing short of exceptional. The Takoyaki, a must-try, is delightful when savored hot. The beef teppanyaki are a standout, tender and beautifully seasoned, their enticing aroma of Japanese BBQ filling the air as they arrive at your table. The beef tataki, subtly marinated, allows the quality of the beef to shine through. An unexpected find on the all-you-can-eat menu is Pho. While the soup base may not be the star of the show, it's an interesting addition that showcases the restaurant's fusion approach. The sushi rolls are a highlight, offering a variety of complex flavors that are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the eye.The owner's warmth and friendliness add to the overall experience, making you feel welcome and valued. Despite the slight misstep with the Pho, Shogun Fusion delivers a dining experience that is truly worthy of a 5-star rating. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking an innovative Japanese dining experience in Edmonton.

Min Chong: Amazing! Always great service. My husband and I have been coming here for special occasions for over 10 years. It's been a while since we've been back last, but it's still a great time.Went for the All-you-can-eat dinner and it was SO GOOD!! Great variety, great quality. Definitely recommend! Perfect date night

Janice Overend: . Service is amazing, place is beautiful, food is delicious.Parking: The lot out front is usually full during peak times, but lots of street parking, paid just off Jasper, or free a block or two north of Jasper.Wheelchair accessibility: Half their restaurant has a raised floor, but they have several booths and tables available with no elevation change.

Cassidy Capper: is amazing and their food truly delivered! It was super tasty and gave a good portion for one person. Their TNT roll, and anchovy garlic edamame was to die for. I 10/10 recommend. However, I have only tried their food through 3rd party delivery apps so I cannot vouch for their atmosphere and service, but I would definitely give it a go having tasted their delicious food.

Elaine: Christine, is an amazing manager! She’s hard at work, running very smoothly, great experience, ensuring customers are happy! The staff is super friendly, delivering excellent service. Chefs make excellent sushi and delicious and artistic dishes! Love this place in Windermere, will come again, especially the Tuesday’s $1 salmon sashimi!

Bobby B: is so creamy, filled with umami and delicious. The bacon gives it such a savory taste as well.Shacka shacka fries are like mcdonald fries, stuck in a bag with shacka shacka seasoning and than mixed. It's sweet, salty and filled with umami and crispy.

Alex K: Dorinku is one of my all time favourite restaurant’s. The pressed salmon sushi is very good and the carbonara udon, is probably my favourite dishes to try. The calamari and chicken skin was pretty good as well for appetizers. The employees are very welcoming and gives it that authentic Japan vibe when you walk in.Parking: Has a strip of parking, if its not busy its not bad parking

Sydney Rayne: delicious food and service is always great! the pressed salmon sushi roll is sooo tasty. as well as the chicken udon! great flavour.

Esther Lac: This restaurant serves amazing quality Japanese dishes. Their sashimi is fresh and you get a solid cut--worth the money. The blazing unagi roll was LITERALLY FIRE. On fire. We were wondering what made it "blazing" and literally lighting fire really nailed down the name. It was tasty too! The tempura was fresh and battered perfectly--it wasn't soggy or cakey. The beef tataki was flavourful though the pieces are quite small. Definitely a great place to go if you want tasty and quality sushi in Edmonton!

Brian: The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the Bento Boxes, and the teriyaki chicken. There is a lot in the Bento Boxes, so it's great if you're really hungry. The service was slightly weird, as our food came one at a time, with our Bento box B coming first, then 5 mins later, the teriyaki chicken came, and then another 7 or so mins later the two bento box A's came. Other than that, the service was top notch- the server was really nice and polite.Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options in the menu- at least one vegetarian option per 'section'.Kid-friendliness: It is a very child friendly place- there are even seat boosters if needed I believe.Parking: There is a lot of parking in the street mall, however it is always around 70-80% occupied.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible.

Andy L: , 2 sushi

Ronnie N.: Had a good experience here, good service and good food.

Danielle Jeannotte: Best Japanese in town! They make their own sauces from scratch. Authentic flavours. Their bento boxes are huge. You only 1 for two people. If you both are really hungry, add an appetizer. The quality is second to none. Have not tried many of their rolls, but the rest is fresh, authentic and consistently wonderful.

Jillian Ahlisch: Excellent experience. The food was fresh and good quality. Miso soup Salmon sashimi, fursoato special roll, and butterfly roll were all delicious. The service was wonderful. We will definitely be dining again

Andy L: . The sashimi felt like a good value given the quality and price. That being said, the pieces were smaller than most places. Overall, it felt like a small hidden gem on Whyte.

Pauline Wong: Always a pleasure dining here. We dine in and order takeout regularly and the service is consistently great every time. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and fresh, the menu is extensive with lots of vegetarian options, and the portions are generous, even for takeout.

Mikado Downtown: what do users think?

JC Yu: but the warm and crunchy with the sauce really seals the deal. Mikado also comes out with new rolls or items being introduced every couple of months as a marketing or seasonal thing

Missy ice: Had a fun night mostly due to the company I was in and the excellent service. Our server, Ann, was lovely and attentive. The restaurant was over air conditioned and it felt like we were eating in the North Pole. The food was ok. Excellent chicken karaage, sashimi, and rainbow roll. The spicy tuna had an aftertaste that I didn’t love and the chop chop roll wasalmost dry. The worst was the tofu twist. It was smothered with sauce and really goopy. The tofu was soggy. I do not recommend unless what I described sounds delicious to you. I would be back though, the service was great and find the big parking lot downtown to be super convenient.

Hei Strawberry: Fantastic place. Greeted by the staff as we entered the establishment. Decor was very nice and a well lit interior. Clean seating areas and bathroom was well kept.We were able to get the room seating which was amazing since we just walked in during a busy time, and would have had to wait. Normally you would need to reserve that type of seating.Waitress was polite, attentive, and helpful when asked about different food items. Food was hot when it arrived, refills for drinks were consistently topped up.Another worker stopped by the room to ask about the food, thanked us for visiting the location and then left with a small bow.I was not able to finish my pot of tea sadly, as I was too full. I really enjoy good tea.

Li: If you are a true connoisseur of quality cuisine, Mikado is an absolute must-visit. Prepare yourself for an explosion of irresistible flavors, captivating freshness, and a culinary experience that is simply spectacular. From start to finish, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to provide an unparalleled culinary experience. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the delight and freshness of Mikado - a culinary experience that you will certainly remember for a long time.

Sushi Wasabi: what do users think?

S C: What can I say? The food was just fabulous. The location boasts lots of parking and a nice environment to eat.As with all sushi in edmonton nowadays, the price is pretty high. No different here. The quality of the food was just amazing though. Here’s what I ordered:- Agedashi tofu- assorted sashimi- Chirashi bowl- mackerel sushi- salmon maki & tuna maki- assorted tempuraEverything was great but I have to say that the tuna mani was the highlight. I don’t know what they do to the fish and how they roll it but the taste is very distinct. This is a place that I can’t afford to eat regularly but I’ll definitely be back for special occasions. I totally recommend this place for sushi.

Tora Hoshizaki: Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had!! The fish is fresh and made to perfection. Very authentic Japanese restaurant and ownership.Food: 5/5Recommended dishes Wasabi Combination, Negitoro, Chirashi Don, Roll …

Michael Chan: Been coming for years. Food is never less than 5 stars. Always the best bet in Edmonton for high quality sushi.

Andy L: . Some of the items that are definitively worth getting are: beef tataki, assorted sashimi, chop chop cone, negitoro cone, and their special rolls.

Christina W: an authentic Japanese restaurant that reminds me of the time I enjoyed the food in one of those local family restaurant in Japan. Food is excellent, all raw fish were so fresh, cooked dishes taste great. You might find it a little pricey but it is what you pay for what you get. So it is still worth it.We got there at 6pm and we were the last table. Therefore advance reservation is definitely suggested. We had a very enjoyable dinner there and will come back when I miss my Japanese food again.

Alex Lin: Good service, probably the most authentic japanese food I had in Edmonton.

casey obyrne: I lived in Japan for a year. Sushi Wasabi is the closet I’ve come to Tokyo. You just can’t beat it anywhere. Enjoy because everything is always fresh or it’s not available.

Jennifer N: One of the best sushi places I’ve tried in Edmonton. We got salmon donburi, chopchop negiri and aburi salmon maki. Would recommend trying all of them as the chopchop and salmon melted in my mouth! Also great service! Sooo goood 😋

Julie K: I finally came here after years of hearing how delicious this place is and it didn’t disappoint. The place is fairly small and you have to make a reso in advance to go here but it was so delicious!I can’t remember what we ordered as my friends ordered them but they were so so yummyI cannot wait to go back!

Pricing is a bit high for what we got but it is always a reliable place for a decent meal.Update: most recent visit the food was excellent and service was fabulous!Visited on Oct 16. Got Bento Boxes and extra rolls. Service is great. Most of the things we ordered tasted decent. But we found the Tempura very greasy and somehow also under cooked. The left over taste of cooking oil did ruin the dining experience a bit.

Jeff Vanelle: One of the few Japanese places in a food court that I trust blindly.Great couple running it, committed to good food.I would book a table if this was a stand alone restaurant, instead of a food court stall. The lunch bento is unbeatable downtown, for its price and quality.I hope the renovations of the mall won't hit you too hard.Thank you for the years of great lunches!
