Furusato Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?

Phillip Hayek: Recommended dishes Assorted Sushi

Greg McCool: I was blown away by the food. Probably the best Japanese I've ever had. I will definitely be back there again.

Jillian Ahlisch: Excellent experience. The food was fresh and good quality. Miso soup Salmon sashimi, fursoato special roll, and butterfly roll were all delicious. The service was wonderful. We will definitely be dining again

Andy L: . The sashimi felt like a good value given the quality and price. That being said, the pieces were smaller than most places. Overall, it felt like a small hidden gem on Whyte.

Pauline Wong: Always a pleasure dining here. We dine in and order takeout regularly and the service is consistently great every time. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and fresh, the menu is extensive with lots of vegetarian options, and the portions are generous, even for takeout.

Gerry R.C: Great foodWaitress great price is fairA little noisyManger gotmad because I did not want to sit next to three kids..would not thank me or say thanks.good food really is unlimited at times loo

Richard Boulet: The staff are all super friendly and attentive. The all you can eat menu isn't as diverse as some other sushi restaurants we've been to, but they make up for it by doing everything they have very well where those other places are hit and miss. We loved everything we tried, I was thrilled to see that they had takoyaki and it was delicious! This will be our new go-to restaurant for dinner whenever we're in Edmonton.Update 2 years later, this is still the best AYCE sushi restaurant we've been to in Alberta. These guys are doing everything right, if you haven't tried them out yet you're missing out.

Yokozuna: what do users think?

Wai S: I absolutely LOVE this place! This is one of the few Japanese restaurants in the city that keeps it authentic yet still modern! The service from the staff is friendly, professional and quick! The food is always amazing! Portions are a good size and tastes great each and every time! It’s nice that not all the dishes are completely soaked in sauce, I like how everything compliments. Prices are excellent! I was recommended to this place from my Japanese friends and it is my go to!!

THERESA S: We had a lovely dinner at Yokozuna recently. I have learned that the best way to ensure a table is to make a reservation. We shared a large sashimi platter as well as dynamite rolls, California rolls and edamame. Everything was delicious, and the staff were very attentive without hovering. The booth seating offers a little privacy and is ideal for date nights. We will definitely be back.

A Raj: My wife and I finally got to try this place. Excellent customer service! Super friendly and quick. The atmosphere was great, and we loved the little hidden booths on the sides. The food was amazing! We barely used the soya sauce and ate the ginger separately to cleanse oir palate between each roll to get the flavor instead of dumping soya sauce on it and eating ginger together. The quality and taste was fantastic. The price was reasonable. Having tried numerous sushi places in Edmonton, this one is our new favorite. We can't wait to come back!

Cat Tunzon: Celebrated mom’s 65th birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was great and we think the price justifies its taste and serving. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Try the Butakaku for appetizer! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back 🤤Oh, I remembered that it doesn’t have kid’s chair, but my 15mos old didn’t bother and still loved the food!

Kyoto 🍣 Sushi 🍣 Japanese 🍱 Restaurant: what do users think?

Jennifer Reekie: We go here every year for our son's birthday. Always excellent food and service.

Chris Everitt: Wonderful place, wonderful people, and wonderful food!

Krystah: I’m so glad I found this place! I think it’s the biggest pieces of fish I’ve ever seen in a roll. The spicy roll wasn’t overpowering, it was just right. I ordered pick up, they give you a good sized portion of wasabi and ginger and also give soya sauce and chopsticks. Seems like a small thing, but some places don’t include chopsticks. Prices are amazing for the portion size. I was super happy to see miso soup for only $1! I will definitely be back!

Oriaifo Obhielo: Really filling

Penny Chiew: Have been coming here for years. Great friendly service and affordable and delicious sushi.

Jennifer L: Delicious, fast and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend!

Tanuki Kyoto Sushi: what do users think?

Kelvin Young: Sashimi was some of the thinnest pieces ive seen but otherwise it was decent. Ice cream is a big plus. Good flavours too

Adam: Not a bad place to eat, food was good, prices not bad and comparable to other Japanese restaurants. Service was very slow though. They appear to be understaffed like most places these days. I wasn't aware they had an all you can eat option which looks intriguing. Saw other patrons enjoying some Japanese hotpot which I think is part of the all you can eat. Also, be sure to wash your hands after handling the menus, they are falling apart and dirty. Printed during the feudal era I'm guessing....

Marjorie Marshall: My friend and I loved it!!! It was delicious. We will be back for sure.Just 2 recommendations. The sashimi , my friend felt it should served over ice. We both thought it would nice to have Japanese music playing. The staff was extremely friendly and they explained and answered our questions.Other than that!! Wow my Hawaiian roll was the best thing ever!!!The food is still spectacular. I had the Mexican roll. The tuna tacos and gyoza. My friend had the mango roll and spicy tuna roll. Everything was delicious. Again great food!!!

Fern Drader: . The desserts were great as well amd prices were fair. Got our food minutes after ordering and there is a garden od sunflowers beside the patio! It's definately our favorite sushi place in edmonton now! The pork gyoza was fantastic along with the two dollar miso soup, the oliver roll, sakura roll, and the green tea mochi!

Kent Kawamura: Sushi: average tasting, very small portionTakoyaki: mehShoyu ramen: quite goodSashimi: pretty goodShrimp tempura: pretty goodKaraage: not very goodOverall food was pretty decent, except the sushi. Staff were very friendly. Atmosphere is nice and casual.

Molly Chen: Update Aug 2023: great service and food, as always. Pricing is a bit high for what we got but it is always a reliable place for a decent meal.Update: most recent visit the food was excellent and service was fabulous!Visited on Oct 16. Got Bento Boxes and extra rolls. Service is great. Most of the things we ordered tasted decent. But we found the Tempura very greasy and somehow also under cooked. The left over taste of cooking oil did ruin the dining experience a bit.

SUSHI AROMA: what do users think?

Cordial Contractor: Decent product at a good price point. Maybe not the most elegant decor but they have put their money into the kitchen and food experience versus the eye candy which I appreciate. The rolls are creative with a decent sticky rice and nice light taste.Anyone that enjoys this cuisine will probably be glad they went

Yuliia Stepanenko: Amazing sushi 🤤Food: 5/5Parking options Free street parking …

Ngan Tran: Enjoy every time I visit this place. Definitely my go to sushi in Edmonton. Their bento boxes and rolls are delicious at decent price.

Mars: Quality and quantity of food is spectacular. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor.Takoyaki, love platter, karaage chicken, deep fried oysters and Salman tataki.I will always go back here for the food. The service, however, is slow. Usually one person man's the front and they are always slow to bring menus, take the order and then return with boxes at the end.Either than the service 5 stars! Everything, including washrooms are clean and tidy.

Kim: Loved their Chirashi!!!

Volcano Restaurant: what do users think?

Vincy Hungry: Despite what the other reviews say, I would say their service was the best aspect of the restaurant!Volcano has been around for a long time but it was never my first choice. But tonight’s experience changed my perspective! Our server, Archie was very attentive and friendly! We were very comfortable and had a good chat.I would agree with other reviews that their food is not the most authentic, the rice in sushi is quite sticky in comparison to Japanese sushi rice. However, I think the price is fair for the product, especially during happy hours. It’s hard to find a late night restaurant with so many choices in their menu and amazing customer service. So I would highly recommend night owls to come support this local business if you get a chance! Also I never knew you got a complementary birthday cheesecake if you show your ID! What a lovely way to make their guests feel special. 🎂🎈Parking: Lots of free parking spots!

Crystal Puim: Don't order via Doordash. They ALWAYS get the pick up time wrong and the food is cold or they offer to "reheat" it. Have you ever tried tempura chicken reheated? It's not pleasant....you just taste oil. Too bad because the Japanese Fried Chicken is really good when it's fresh.Update they offered in store credit and we tried it again made fresh. THIS time it was how it should have been. I appreciate them offering to correct the mistake and will visit again. Stars have been updated.

Maki Maki Japanese & Vietnamese Restaurant: what do users think?

joe blondin: Top notch sushi every time i come here! Consistently amazing food plus super friendly staff makes it easily one of my favourite places to have a night out. Shaira was a real delight, great service!

alma angeles: . The presentation was good and most importantly, everything tasted great. Yum! Ambience is really cool. I love the decor and the music and the vibe, it really set the mood. Most of the customers we spoke to were pleased too. Staff was very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, they were very eager to serve in any way they can. Parking was spacious. You couldn’t ask for more. Thanks, Maki Maki!❤️❤️

Anne Angeles: The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We came in on Sunday and it got a little busy but our waitress remained a good host. We ordered what we would typically get at other Japanese restaurants, expecting the standard smaller servings we are used to seeing nowadays and were completely blown away when our plates were brought out. There was so much food. To give you an idea, the beef tataki was on a large square plate and the serving was easily three times as much as what I’ve seen from other Japanese restaurants. The dragon eyes were about two times the size of what I’m used to as well. We also got the spicy tuna rolls, agedashi tofu, a bento box, and deep fried squid. Everything was well cooked and tasted great. Definitely coming back to enjoy the service and the food. Highly recommended!

Manchi Lo: I have been coming here for over 12 years and I have had my birthday celebrations here too because of the awesome food, excellent hospitality, quick service and friendly staff. They have renovated their restaurant to keep it fresh and beautiful too. They have great photo backgrounds to take with friends and a private room for gatherings too. They are open late so it's perfect for post shows at the northern Jubilee too or after any concert or game. The staff make you feel like family and remember your order and what you like. There have a delicious variety of Vietnamese and Japanese food. The pho and sushi rolls with sashimi are a few of my favorite. I definitely recommend to come here and go plan your next special occasion here.

Geoffrey Parlby: This was our go to place for all you can eat sushi. Went there today and it's closed permanently

Chocopie: . I will give the the staff the benefit of the doubt, as there was another group 10+ and a group of at least 8 as well. I offer advice to others who plan to come to this restaurant. Come with a smaller group

Henry Vu: I think the All You Can Eat menu completed revitalized this place. You get to choose 30 pieces of sushi, a bunch of different rolls, a Poke bowl, 1 grilled option, 1 deep fried option, 1 main and UNLIMITED appetizers/soup/salad for only $40.*Food*- Sushi: Delicious for the price. Fish wasn’t the freshest but you could always use the grill to enhance the flavor. The butterfish and salmon tasted amazing. Not a fan of the red snapper and tuna.- Beef Tataki: Beef was nicely seasoned. Could replace the weird seaweed with 1/2 pieces of fruit. I personally like more citrus in the sauce.- Miso soup: A little too much miso.- Rolls/Hand rolls: Very delicious, nicely seasoned and all had great combination of different flavors.- Short Ribs: Lacked saltiness/umami and was overly sweet.- Drinks: They have great cocktails.I had a blast overall. There were MANY options to choose from and the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. The AYCE menu is highly recommended

Denys Zhadan: Recommended dishes Miso Soup, Beef Tataki, Mango Roll, Dragon Roll, Tempura Shrimp 8pcs, California Roll, Soup

Emil Yim: An intriguing culinary experience that combines traditional Japanese cuisine with a modern twist. The restaurant's all-you-can-eat menu is a highlight, offering a decent array of options that cater to diverse palates. The soup selection is particularly commendable, with four distinct varieties. Each soup is a testament to the kitchen's ability to balance ingredients and create harmonious dishes that warm the soul. However, the grill selection at Soleilki is somewhat limited, which may leave those seeking a more extensive range of grilled delicacies slightly disappointed. The curry udon was also swimming in grease which upon consumption, immediately unsettled the stomach. In conclusion, Soleilki Japanese Fusion Kitchen + Bar offers a dining experience worth exploring. The fusion of traditional and contemporary elements in its menu, coupled with the restaurant's commitment to quality, makes it a noteworthy addition to Edmonton's dining scene.Parking: Pay attention to paid parking hours

Jasmine Hafso: This place is nicely decorated and has a very calming atmosphere. The pacific roll is delicious. They have a great variety of dishes at very reasonable prices. The cocktails here are also very flavourful. One of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton!

Nix S: I took my friend here for his birthday as he was craving for sushi. This place is a hidden gem on Whyte Ave. The food was amazing, and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even came out of their way to make a treat for my friend. Thank you for the great experience, we will definitely be back. And I will recommend you to everyone that I know.

土萠ほたる: and his friends. The food is out of this world 🌎 and really enjoyed chilling to some authentic J-rock. If I had it my way, I'd eat here daily during my stay in the city.Unfortunately, I live in Vancouver Island and tye pandemic rolled along, then gave the loser the boot while both my girls are now teenagers busy with summer jobs and no longer interested in roadtrip back to the area. However, totally bookmarked this place in hopes I will be able to visit Edmonton again to really relax and eat here again.Kid-friendliness: Good kid-friendly environment. My two daughters felt right at home with the food and music while the staff were very polite and mindful to my girls.Parking: Free parking stalls with ample parking. If only it was that easy in restaurants where I live!

Jonny Vu: Best meal we have had in Edmonton after evacuating. Service was amazing!

Jesse Ertman: Good food! The Edmame was delicious. Had a decent amount of gluten free options and had gluten free soy sauce which was nice. Service was great our waitress was very friendly. If I had to complain about something I'd say the chairs aren't very comfortable. No backs on them, but that shouldn't stop you from going there. Definetly one of the better sushi places in the yeg area! Also service was fast so if you need a quick meal this is the place to go!Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options!

Lydia Chugg: So good and great service!

Andrew Kim: Very good assortment of dishes on menu, sushi and nigiri’s are on point and very fresh, was so full but couldnt stop eating. High quality service and friendly staff Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have clean high chairs readily available, kids cup and bowl as well as kid learner chopsticks 🥢👍🏻

Let's Grill Sushi & Izakaya: what do users think?

David Duong: Got the Miso ramen, comes with meat, seaweed, corn and an egg.Oddly enough they dont have regular Tonkotsu ramen on their menu. The broth was savory and the noodles were good. The highlight of this restaurant's ramen is definitely the cha shu meat.Very flavorful and seared well, I definitely reccomend getting extra meat. The egg was unmarinated but cooked well. The portions however were a bit lacking, I found myself only relatively full and I even drank all the broth.Coming here was a nice experience, glad I tried it.But if I ever did come here for ramen again, it would just be for the meat.Otherwise there are other ramen places I would rather go.

Jennylyn Villagen: Very good ramen one of the best ramen I had and the staff is nice

Cee Gee: I love the unagi rice bowl. It’s everything in it.The sushi doesn’t taste like fresh compared to other Japanese restos that I’ve been to but it was still good.

Janny Nguyen: The katsu curry and salmon oishi roll was absolutely delicious! The grilled stuff was also really good, especially the Lamb. Would definitely be back!

Taylor Bauwens: Always great food for a great price.

mireille cumine: I can't speak to the other food so much because I only ever have gotten the spicy ramen but holy moly is it good! The service is great. Food is delicious. I could drink that broth with a straw just nothing but broth. It's so good. The tra is really yummy too and the tea pot it came in is really beautiful and now I want one just like it.

Eriq Collantes: Always good food and service. Still one of the best for service and quality

Darryl Molloy: I absolutely love this place! Fantastic food and great value for the money. What's not to like?!Oh wait, there's more! As with almost all of my reviews, it's the staff who either make or break the customer experience.Incredibly kind, funny and a true delight to interact with the staff here. With every visit, they reinforce why I will be a lifelong customer. Great food, great value and fantastic people! Can't recommend this business highly enough!

Kabuki Sushi & Grill South: what do users think?

Esther Lac: This restaurant serves amazing quality Japanese dishes. Their sashimi is fresh and you get a solid cut--worth the money. The blazing unagi roll was LITERALLY FIRE. On fire. We were wondering what made it "blazing" and literally lighting fire really nailed down the name. It was tasty too! The tempura was fresh and battered perfectly--it wasn't soggy or cakey. The beef tataki was flavourful though the pieces are quite small. Definitely a great place to go if you want tasty and quality sushi in Edmonton!

Brian: The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the Bento Boxes, and the teriyaki chicken. There is a lot in the Bento Boxes, so it's great if you're really hungry. The service was slightly weird, as our food came one at a time, with our Bento box B coming first, then 5 mins later, the teriyaki chicken came, and then another 7 or so mins later the two bento box A's came. Other than that, the service was top notch- the server was really nice and polite.Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options in the menu- at least one vegetarian option per 'section'.Kid-friendliness: It is a very child friendly place- there are even seat boosters if needed I believe.Parking: There is a lot of parking in the street mall, however it is always around 70-80% occupied.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible.

Andy L: , 2 sushi

Ronnie N.: Had a good experience here, good service and good food.

Danielle Jeannotte: Best Japanese in town! They make their own sauces from scratch. Authentic flavours. Their bento boxes are huge. You only 1 for two people. If you both are really hungry, add an appetizer. The quality is second to none. Have not tried many of their rolls, but the rest is fresh, authentic and consistently wonderful.
