Nicole Hrycash: I am not one to leave reviews, but after the experience with my Mother and Grandmother today I feel I need to. What a 5 star experience all around! The actual restaurant is beautiful with the decor and colours chosen, with large windows for lots of natural light, being on the second floor also adds a more elegant feeling, and the bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Our server was awesome as we felt very comfortable from when we walked in, taking the order, bringing out the order, checking on us, bringing a take home box, to paying was all a very lovely experience! We all ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Bannock, by far the best I have had, fresh ingredients and full of flavour with large portions. We will definitely be coming back with others, and spreading the word of this hidden gem in the City, well done Runway 29!

The weekends have karaoke, and myself being in a band, and a vocalist, thought this group of singers were quite talented. 4 stars my vote.

And the food, while not 5-star spectacular, was quite tasty and satisfying. I got a plateful of a ketchup-flavoured popcorn and then a big plate of nachos - the latter of which I intended to share but my friends got there too late, so I'd already scarfed it all down by the time they got there, lol. I guess I was hungry! Not so full of food that I couldn't also chug down a pint of Lucky, a can of Alley Kat Aprikat, and a rum and diet coke.Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options. Popcorn, or salad, for ex. But most of the menu is meat-focused.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is right on street level and the washrooms are both on the main floor just across from the bar. You might need someone to hold the washroom door open though.

Jurate Motiejunaite: This is a great place to drop by on Tuesday evenings! It's much cozier inside than the outside decor would suggest. The food was great; the service is friendly and fast; and the atmosphere is amazing. Come by for Tuesday comedy nights at 9pm - different comics will cheer you up and/or make you explore the facets of human existence you didn't know bothered you. A great way to decompress!

JD 3: This place has had an upgrade since I had been there last. Not that I didn't like it before, but it has been classed up a bit, it's in basement level which gives a cool vibe, the cocktails are fantastic, and the bartender was top notch. If you're in the Edmonton downtown area I think it's a must check out.

It was a really busy night with the Eagles concert down the street. That said, the service was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere was just as good, everyone was super friendly. Good drinks, great conversations, and excellent food. If your in downtown Edmonton I highly recommend a visit to Kelly’s Pub.

Bender716: We have a new staff member from eastern Europe who has been quite unhappy with many of the restaurants here, finding the food expensive but of low quality. I needed to but burgers though and thought to get Newcastle as we have enjoyed the food there at work in the past. He was impressed, as was I, yet again. The quality and value of the fair line up nicely. If you are looking for good pub food, this is a great option. And they make a great Caesar.

Jane: My first experience at Cask and Barrel with my friends was so memorable I will definitely come back with more memories. The atmosphere was great I went on a night when the Good Vibes event was being held. Local DJs showcased their talent, the music was a very good vibe. The food was special because it was made with love. When food tastes good you know it was made with love. Cask and Barrel’s Greek salad made me fall in love with cherry tomatoes. They choose the best ingredients on the market and I can tell because their cherry tomatoes are the best I’ve ever had. They are strawberries in disguise! Because they taste exactly like that. Every dish was perfected dressed with mouthwatering sauces or dressings. I highly recommend the Greek salad and Penne Jambalaya! The prices are reasonable for what you get. The flavours, portions and presentation are there. Not only was all the food made with love but it was also served with love. David, our server, was an unforgettable star. He made my friends and I feel welcomed, well looked after and entertained with his friendly, charismatic and passionate service. The fact that he was serving alone on a busy night and didn’t show one ounce that he was stressed is profoundly commendable. He kept his cool, good vibes, smile and friendly service throughout our stay. It goes to show just how much of a natural he is at what he does. He always made time to check in with our table and always made a friendly and funny memorable way to converse with us each time. When we ordered things that weren’t available at the time he made sure to recommend a alternative that still would satisfy our craving. He really cared about getting things right. His efforts, passion for what he does and his good vibes/character make David standout he is a gift to Cask and Barrel and to the hospitality industry. He is an asset. A good vibe. I shared some special times with friends, family and coworkers; I have made some new friends here. My sister and I have had a tradition of sharing some nachos, salt pepper and a Blue Moon each month. Whatever happened in the weeks prior, it felt like a celebration - whatever the chosen meal, though, the vibe of this place, its excellent service, and its tasty food make for a good time every time.
