‌Students at Vimy Ridge Academy are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. Their stories merge both with the legends of the past, and with those of the future. They create their own stories by engaging in the unique opportunity to hone skills in academics, athletics, performing arts, citizenship and leadership. They come from all backgrounds, from all over our region, and join the forces of over 1000 student athletes who are on a personal journey to a successful future. They may commit to one of the exceptional alternative programs, or they may be training as an elite athlete who requires a flexible school program that allows them to be successful as an athletic scholar. Students in Grades 7 - 12 choose programs in sports, dance, and outdoor pursuits, or they create a flexible schedule in the Elite Athlete program to accommodate training in swimming, diving, gymnastics, figure skating, wrestling, martial arts, or alpine skiing, just to name a few.

Vimy Ridge Academy offers an authentic community school atmosphere, with exceptional teachers to ensure each student receives personalized attention and supports needed to excel academically. Pathways beyond High School are forged through our working relationships with agencies who support and develop youth with goals in their future. Professional and certified coaches provide high-level competitive training in fully equipped facilities through the essential relationships with the Academic and Athletic Development Society of Edmonton (baseball, softball, hockey, lacrosse, sport fit, and outdoor pursuits) as well as the University of Alberta Green and Gold Soccer Academy. The Edmonton School of Ballet is another fundamental agency supporting the Dance program at Vimy Ridge Academy and is one of the most respected professional dance programs in Canada. Every student completes a full academic program balanced with daily physical training in their specific program of choice. Greetings to the Ross Sheppard Community! As a third year Principal at Ross Sheppard High School, I am honoured and privileged to work alongside the staff, students, and families. Ross Sheppard High School has built its success by working cooperatively with parents and the community to provide a meaningful educational experience for each of its students. It is through these relationships that the staff at Ross Sheppard are able to help our students successfully navigate high school.

Ross Sheppard High School is a proud community of learners who embrace challenges and celebrate successes in academics, athletics, fine arts, and service. ‘WE ARE SHEP’ represents the pride, tradition, and excellence that is exhibited in our halls on a daily basis. We provide a safe and inclusive environment that focuses on engaged teaching and learning. I want all community members to know that I have an open door policy, and that our focus is on communication that supports next steps. It is our mandate to ensure success for all learners. Through dedicated intervention programming and succession-focused work, we feel that we are supporting students to take on the challenges of their next steps. My goals are to provide leadership that will continue to ensure a collaborative school environment, and differentiated instruction that meets the needs of each student. Educational programs must be meaningful for the students and Ross Sheppard High School takes pride in how we support students by linking the curriculum to previous knowledge and future experiences.
