Chris Janzen: I can only share my thoughts on what I tried, but from the wonderful scent of the store to the fresh, soft, delicate, and just a little sweet, pork bun, the experience was a delicious escape from the bustle of the mall. I'll be visiting again.

Diane T: So I had stumbled on this place on my last trip to Edmonton and had to come back for more. I picked up the irresistible congee and also the pork cheung fun. Both were tasty and comforting. The congee was thick and had lots of meat and century egg. The green onions and the white pepper is a must. Their chicken pao was also very good. Also another cash only place but they really make it worthwhile. The horse hoof pastry was still warm when l tore into it. Sooo good!

Percival Lee: A wonderful gem of a bakery with a small menu of items that are made to order, and a few other items that are frozen and ready to take home as needed.When I’m downtown I like to drop by here for fresh buns or BBQ Pork Rice Rolls they make. Usually it’s a 10 min wait for piping hot food to go, and it’s always worth the time.
ps lao: Hidden gem in chinatown. Their steam buns are so fresh its probably the best you can find in town. Prices are very reasonable but make sure to bring cash with you

Anthony Ngui: Frozen dim sum and a limited selection of baked/fried goods ready for pickup. What I like is they also offer other items on demand too so check out the menu at the service counter for congee, fried noodles and some steamed dim sum items and deep fried pastries. Mostly for take out. Seating in very very limited and it's not meant to be used.

My favourite items are definitely the steamed rice cakes, and the mango butter cakes – they’re sweet without being too rich or overwhelming, and the fruit flavour is just the right amount. The staff are friendly, and their prices are more than reasonable. Plus they have super delicious bubble tea! Their wedding cakes are gorgeous as well. If you’re in the market for a sweet treat and want to support a local business, head to Hong Kong. You won’t be sorry.

HK bakery has always been top notch. Our go to place for the fruit cocktail cake for birthdays. Lots of fruit and we like that the cream is on the lighter side. Cha siu bao (bbq pork bun) and bo loh bao (pineapple bun) are our go to pastries there. The dan tat (egg tarts) are good too. There are places with flakier crusts but I like the denser crusts. It’s a matter of personal preference. My wife loves the white soft rice cake/pastry with red bean filling. We also always order some frozen chicken sticky rice wrapped in lots leaf. The price is decent for the portions of all the stuff we get.

Kelcy F: Never short on selection. Fresh product with a taste that does not disappoint. The staff is always friendly. Ive frequented enough to remember the cash only policy, but a debit machine would be nice. The neighborhood has a reputation for crime, so you'd not carry much cash as it is - that means less purchase power.

Filled out the form online and about a week later they called to go over the order and confirm the details, next time I would just go in person to do it. But it came out exactly like I asked! I got the confetti cake and it is so lightly and fluffy and the buttercream is amazing. Not too heavy or sweet. The price was more than reasonable for a custom cake. I can’t wait to get another cake!

Nancy M: A great place to work. I worked at Sunrise Bakery for seven years and six months....2006. It was definitely a good experience to learn what it takes to make pastries and Dairy Queen cake centres. The best part about my experience there was the whole management team. They made you feel like you're family by they way they interacted with the employees, rewards and bonus that you can't get in big corporations. Just an overall great place.
