4worldlovers: Cornerstone United Reformed Church of Edmonton is a protestant church rooted in the Biblical teachings recovered during the Protestant Reformation. We are a member of the United Reformed Churches in North America (URCNA).

We sponsor "Core Christianity" on CJCA on Sundays at 8:30 am. You can also listen to Core Christianity online.

We have 2 different worship services each Sunday. We look forward to seeing you at both services. Visitors are most welcome.

Maranatha is blessed to have Rev. Terence Visser serving as our lead pastor, and Natasha Specht as our Associate pastor of Congregational Life.

We have been privileged to serve in the Beverly community of Edmonton since 1953.

The Maranatha congregation would love to have you come and worship with us! Nursery is available for children ages 3 and under.

The cross and triangle in the banner is the Christian Reformed Church emblem. The triangle represents the Trinity, the one God we know as three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The cross symbolizes Jesus Christ's sacrificial death on the cross for our salvation.

We call ourselves Christian because we believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour from sin and as the Lord of our lives. We call ourselves Reformed because we believe that when a person's heart is opened to the good news of the Bible, a complete transformation begins to happen in the life of that person.

We subscribe to three ecumenical creeds: The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Athanasian Creed. We subscribe to three reformed confessions: The Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism (a Reformed FAQ on Life), and The Canons of Dort. We also have a contemporary testimony titled "Our World Belongs to God".

Yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him.

Stephen had just spelled out the story of God’s promise to Abraham. He explained how God had made a covenant with his people and had fulfilled it (Acts 7:2-50). Then he charged the high priest and the rest of the ruling establishment with the murder of “the Righteous One,” Jesus Christ.

And at that moment Stephen’s day got much worse. The religious rulers were enraged. They were so angry that they dragged him out of the city and stoned him.

Have you ever seen someone going through a tough time and wondered, “I don’t know what I would do if that happened to me”? Here’s a wonder and awe moment in the story of Stephen.

As they pressed him, Stephen understood the power of God’s presence with him. He saw heaven open, and he found comfort.

When we face tough times or when it feels like the world is against us, that can actually be a moment when we can know the peace that surpasses all understanding. A time like that can be hard and trying, but it can also be an opportunity to draw close to Jesus.
