Rutherford House: what do users think?

Janice Chau: Convenient location near an LRT station. Home of Alberta's first premiere and his family, and contains a lot of original belongings. The docents are passionate and knowledgeable, and offer a guided 45min tour - I opted to take a self-guided one, but would recommend doing the guided instead when timing permits. Admission is affordable and they accept credit.Only complaint is the front door is locked, and you need to knock to get in - I did that a few times and then called but I think they had left the front desk to check on tourists inside already. It didn't end up taking more than 10 minutes for them to come to the door but it did leave me contemplating if I should keep waiting or not.

Wendy James: Well worth the visit. Tour host was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Great way to learn some of Edmonton's history and take in a beautiful historic home.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Edgar Cabral: Our guide, Mr. Colby, provided us fantastic details about the Rutherford family and their legacy to Edmonton. To avoid vandalism, it is necessary to be part of a guided tour, especially if they are short in Staff. Paige Lacy: I’ve been to this house several times before and each visit just seems to get better. We had one of the best tours ever given in my experience by Colby, a wonderful graduate student in history who gave a detailed account of what it was like to live in Edmonton over 100 years ago. A warm and endearing tribute to Alexander Rutherford and his family. A must-see for any visitor, particularly for students and staff at the University of Alberta.

Kristina Woelber: Such a beautiful Alberta heritage home. The preservation and work that has went into this home is impressive. However what really made the experience so special was Louise McKay - I have never met a more knowledgeable professional on not only the Rutherford House but historic sites in Edmonton. Her personalized tour was first class, fun, and informative. She spoke so highly of the home and transported us back to another era. I’ve done many guided tours all over the world and this was by far #1.Thank you so much Louise for your exceptional knowledge and for making our day. People like you are rare! We hope to rent it out for Sam’s event soon!

John Walter Museum: what do users think?

ZAK: The John Walter Museum is located right in the heart of Edmonton’s river valley in Kinsmen Park. As an accredited museum, the site interprets the life of John Walter and the Strathcona community of Walterdale from 1870-1942.The park has walking and biking trails, picnic sites, a playground, an outdoor pool and the Kinsmen recreation centre.

Dwayne Lavallee: This is the first time visiting the John Walter Museum and area since moving to Edmonton 7+ years ago. I am glad that I could take some time, and enjoy walking through some of Edmonton's original historical sites on a sunny winter's day. Once the Museum opens up I would definitely take in a tour so I can learn about some history of Edmonton through John Walter in the past. I greatly appreciate the effort people have put into helping preserve these historical landmarks.

Sulaiman Ibrahim: Very nice house

patel darshan: Best view

Brooke Bartolitius: This area of the city is truly a gem. If I want to go exploring near the river valley, I almost always start here at John Walters. I like looking at the old buildings and reading about the history of the area posted around. It connects to the entire river valley trail system with access to basically all the bridges and fun architecture in the area. This area is one of my favorites in the city.

Wayne S: Very impressive park

Amanda Henderson: We love this park.

Chelsea Stone: This place is a great hang out spot to cook over a fire and hang out with friends.

Billy Harach: Very nice campground. Campground is on a peninsula which is very cool. Camp spots are well treed and private. Lake tends to become weedy thru the summer. Fishing is good but be cautious of hidden rock islands. This is a very nice campground!

Mona Sabry: Great park for BBQ and family events

M. Fox: Wonderful off leash dog park!! The tasty berries in the summer are great! The real bathrooms are better than an outhouse, but certainly could use improvements! The biggest con is the city shuts the tiny dog water fountain off 2 months too early and turns them on 2 months late, meaning the water fountain should only be off when it's minus 20 with lots of snow.Restrooms: It's good to have a real washroom not an outhouse, but the bathrooms need upgrades!!

Piyush Goyal: Awesome place for picnic

Kim: It's a cool place with 3 different climates and the associated plant cultures. The fourth pyramid is for featured events, which is Lego by NULAG when I went. It's a good experience and the place is very nicely kept. But it's a bit of a let down in terms of how small it is. It's got variety but it's so small that it is a let down and a bit dissapointing. You can literally spend less than 15 minutes here in total and that is taking time taking photos and observing things already. The Lego feature was a very nice one and I spent more time there admiring it. It IS worth going to, but just know it's small and something you can go through very quickly.

Rene McCallum: Was a very interesting beautiful place that's forsure! 4 pyramids with different types of climates and plant life and legos!. The tropical pyramid has a game you can play right when you enter of finding all the animals hiding while looking at all the plants.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

A facade and very fake, I really want to like Edmonton core but the traffic and now parking is being charged up the you know what. I get they want you to walk but Canada and the USA was short sighted with Car/ oil & gas money to think what if.It's ok for a stroll but females should walk with a friend in some areas.
