4worldlovers: WELCOME! I’m Carmen Lanteigne, and I want to be the first to say hi, and if you are looking for a different way to train your body, then Pilates just might be what you need.

As a student of the Pilates method for over 17 years, I started Aligned Pilates in our family home as a hobbyist in 2007. Today, Aligned Pilates is the place where people come to learn a transformative way of exercising using traditional Pilates apparatus, including Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, and other auxiliary devices that help the body to become stronger, work towards better alignment, and feel good overall.

Practicing Pilates consistently brings the body, mind, and breath to work harmoniously, creating a Pilates lifestyle. This well-being feeling helps us go out into the world more peacefully.

My best day is when I share a way of exercising different from anything a person has experienced and witness people feeling the work making a difference in their bodies.

Sometimes my magnificent ChiChi, Pablo Grande, comes to work with me and loves nothing more than chilling in his cozy bed watching people practicing their Pilates.

Aligned Pilates Studio is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, equipped with classical Reformers, Mats, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, and other smaller auxiliary apparatus to learn the Pilates method.

Students that practice Joseph Pilates’ exercises use his genius apparatus to help develop a mind-body connection, improve alignment, and build up physical strength in the body that, over time, leads to better posture, flexibility, and increased stamina to do daily activities.

A balanced body is a conditioned body that moves with strength, flexibility, and endurance. It focuses on core strength and stability, which includes stabilizing the pelvic and shoulder girdle and maintaining postural alignment while in motion.​

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, spent more than two decades refining the STOTT PILATES method of exercise and equipment. ​

Whether it be their body, mind or spirit, my focus is to help others strengthen their core in preparation to discover and carry the mantles life has placed on their shoulders.
