Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home Ltd: what do users think?

Jim Cox: My mother has been at Jubilee Lodge for 7 years. I have visited several facilities in the city over the years and in my experience, this one is one of the nicest if not the nicest one as far as how my mother has been treated and how they have treated my family. With Covid there has been many more restrictions in place but the staff has always gone out of their way to accommodate the residents and families as much as they can. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff.

Gordon Rehm: Your staff should be proud. Your care and compassion for my mother is greatly appreciated. Your response to my father proves you are above the rest. Thank you

Sharon STONE: Jubilee is a very nice environment, initial rooms are small/shared, and although mom was only there for a couple of weeks, before her first choice came available, the Staff were very good to her, concerned, always in contact with me on any changes that were made with her medications, or if she needed anything. Only reason we moved her to first choice, was because of the size, she was overwhelmed, afraid of getting lost, even though the staff took her wherever she needed to go, sometimes she would just go for a walk in her wheelchair, but because of her dementia not remember how to get back. They always made sure she was taken care of. Thank you!

Stan Edwards: A very good Lodge, great staff,& Exercise program is good for those that can handle it.

David Freeman: . My 90 year old father has said he prefers it to his previous location. I visited numerous other long-term facilities

Christian: I had the pleasure of working at this site and I just want to say that the staff was amazing and extremely kind!

Sandy Scott: Staff have a difficult job, but care about the residents!

Extendicare Holyrood: what do users think?

LInda Shier: This home appears to try very hard to provide activities to keep the residents engaged. I thank the recreation staff for that Their are many caring staff members that go out of their way to treat the patients like human people with feelings., Thanks Kieth! From what I hear the menus look good but the actual food is often not consumable. I realize that items like steak needs to be mushed up, spices and salt can not be used. I suggest having condiments ready and served with the meal. Perhaps some Mrs Dash spices, mild hot sauces, mayo, ketchup, mustard. Lime, butter HP sauce. Can be always available and quick to be served before the dinning begins. The residents need napkins and need to be reminded on how to use them on the on going basis.Medical care needs to be address and copies of the results from all tests and doctors reports should be provided to the patient. We are not putting our loved one in Hollyrood to die. We want them to thrive and have care to extend their lives. Each patient needs tender care. They often need to be transferred to wheelchairs, tubs, beds. This needs to be done with care and compassion as it can be a very painful process. The straps must be spread out as to not put undue pressure on the back of the legs. Please do not talk about a patient when they are right there, include them in the conversation. Change napkins with care and application of protection cream is applied on the cleaned skin. Just like an infant, a rash is unacceptable. Please provide your clients with a written statement of all charge to their account monthly. On the whole it appears that friendships are nurtured between some of the staff and clients. This all helps in making my family member safe and cared for. I thank all the special staff that go the extra mile to add joy to our parents lives. You know who you are! Wishing you and your families health and happiness in the New Year.Ps. I would love to see the daily activities posted on a private app of secure Facebook page. I gives me great pleasure to see my sweet mama smile.

Sonja T: . Outdoor spaces in summer season are small but pretty with many flowers. Most staff have positive and kind attitudes so my loved one feels happy, safe and secure. This has been a blessing during this time of reduced family visits due to Covid 19.Staff have worked hard to keep up with the ever changing visit recommendations from AHS and have managed this reasonably well! There have been no significant communication issues with nursing staff and administration; it is timely and appropriate. My loved one really enjoys meals and snacks - taste, quantity and variety appear to be suitable.Prior to Covid, we found the location to be great as it was easy to get to the nearby mall for an outing and the local neighborhood was pleasant for little walks.Bathing is the one area my loved one dislikes as there are only two baths in the building and due to staffing, must be scheduled - which is not received well.

Kathleen McQuay: I'mhappy that my good friend has a place to stay when it is so hard to find places to be.

Shauna Forsyth: When my friend was placed in Hardisty I was immediately impressed with their instant evaluation of her needs and requirements, the immediate discontinuation of unneeded meds, and her almost immediate return to her normal.

William Chandler: The care staff is amazing. The nurses, well Parm you will always have a place in my heart. The OT department is above and beyond. Christine Umutoni. I have not walked since 2017, because of you I can now use a walker, in my heart you are my hero. Much love my friend. Nera, promise me you won't ever leave 3d floor.

Is what i observed..:The staff is alway including me with updates on changing conditions when they happen. The staff is caring in a natural attitude they are very attentive to the needs of my wife.

John Lim: The professional work of the Physio Dept is beyond words. The time and effort that thephysiotherapist put into my care is truly remarkable. The progress I made in my recovery is ALL due to their endeavours.

Revera McConachie Gardens: what do users think?

S. King: I recently spent quite a bit of time at McConachie Gardens and over two weeks had the opportunity to eat my daily meals there. I have to say the food was excellent - really top notch - from the breakfasts through to dinners. Not what you would expect of most retirement homes - the kitchen staff are excellent and the results show.

Geri Britton: with numerous activities on a daily basis. There is a dog walk because they allow pets which is great! The interaction between staff and the residents is incredible. They do everything they can to make the residents feel comfortable and provide them with the best environment they can and of course make them feel like they are home.If you are looking for a senior residence for a loved one we highly recommend McConachie Gardens. From the facility itself, to the staff, to the many activities and outings provided to the residents it’s a wonderful place to spend your senior years.I would just like to add, I wrote this review in 2020 before COVID overtook all our lives. I know things have had to change at McConachie because of COVID but it doesn't change my opinion in any way. I can't wait for things to get back to normal so I can participate with my mom in all the great things they used to do.Geri and Ron – daughter and son

ken Spillett: Our mother moved to supportive/assisted living in McConachie Gardens in February 2020. It is a newer and clean facility with considerable staffing support. We were particularly grateful for McConachie coordinating the medical supports for our mother with her family physician. The nursing station and LPN's on site would follow the directives of her physician and also relay information about our mother's care to her doctor. Additionally, they kept our family informed of any changes in her health so we could also play a role in coordinating care with the doctor and staff on site. It was clear to me a number of staff members knew our mother very well and she had fond and close relationships with them. The commitment to care and the flexibility we experience at McConachie meant mother was able to stay in the same facility, and even the same room, from her entry into assisted living through compassionate end of life care. It also meant the care team had a keen understanding of our mother's needs and would call us into the facility when they believed it was required. Knowing we could rely on them to communicate with us as necessary was especially important and helpful as we looked after our mother through COVID 19 restrictions and did not have the same flexibility in visiting as we did prior. The coordination between our family and staff was exceptional. We took great comfort in knowing our mother was well cared for and our family made a good decision in placing her in McConachie Gardens.

Bill Webber: My wife and I have enjoyed living in McConachie Gardens for the past 20 months. We have been served by an incredible staff, from cleaning staff to ED. Dining, before Covid, has been one of the special pleasures. A staff who knows all of us by name, that makes every effort to keep us active and involved, that is caring and understanding makes this a home away from home.Covid presents many challenges for all of us, in my view, we are coping well.

David Whitson: Faced with finding a place for "Dad", the wife & I toured pretty much everything in the Edmonton area. One place stood out above all the rest. McConachie Gardens. We love it, we can feel good about him being there, and most importantly, he loves it too.

Amanda Kuseta: Beautiful new facility, modern, warm and inviting. Falitities and accommodations are beautiful

CapitalCare Norwood: what do users think?

Imee R: So glad I got a chance to work in Norwood Palliative Care Unit temporarily. It’s so well- organized and efficient. Care manager and all the unit staffs are very warm and accommodating. Thank You!Just wanted to share some updates about this review 😊 I eventually employed as a permanent staff here in Norwood. I’m lovin ’ every shifts I have, though sometimes it’s challenging but we always have a great support from our bosses “higher management “ our manager Casi is so awesome in leading of providing the highest quality of care to the patients and yet at the same time looking after the safety and wellness of all our team. Thanks so much . Updated’ pics of Capital Care Norwood annex new bldg.

Jacqueline Rishaug: Dr H Sidhu is my mother’s physician and we thank our lucky stars. Dr Sidhu comes to my mothers extended care facility, which helps me because of the mobility issues that she has. My family and I appreciate his caring and patient demeanour.

D Johnson: The staff here care so much for their patients. They are so professional and easy to talk to with and concerns you have. They go about and beyond to go the extra to care for each patient. Our Mom recovered far faster then we expected with their care. We are so happy that there is health care professionals that love their job on Floor 3

Melody Hamelin: The decision to send our mom into palliative care was a very difficult one for the family. We were struggling to continue caring for our mom at home, and we knew that we needed full-time, professional care for her. A staff member from the Norwood called to discuss the admission procedure in detail and left us feeling reassured that mom would have excellent 24/7 care. Mom was provided with a clean, private room, and we were able to bring her clothing from home as well as personal possessions to help to make the transition easier. We were able to visit our mom any time of the day or night. The Norwood hospice staff was very supportive and took the time to patiently answer all of our questions. They showed genuine care and compassion for our mom and for the family during this difficult period .Thank you so much to Nili, Sheryl and all of the staff who tirelessly and gently cared for our mother. It was comforting to know that her last days were in a loving, supportive environment.

Kevin W: Great care ...professional staff

Kirk Dewhurst: My father just got here and so far I am impressed. He is in a room by himself and it is nice, it’s clean and lots of light from a large window. The staff so far is friendly and helpful. I have been here before a few times when other family members have been here and the experience has always been pleasant. It’s not great if you have to be here but if so you will be well taken care of. Patients coming here from hospitals are usually here for rehabilitation and hopefully are able to go home and the time spent here is usually pretty good.

Laura-Lee Rahn: It is absolutely the worst to be sick. I was overcome with a sudden and mysterious total body paralysis. Spent weeks in the Royal Alexandra Hospital. At 53 years old told I'd be in that condition for the remainder of my life. However, that was not God's plan for me. I spent a month at Norwood working with their staff with the goal of eventually going home. The other patients and the staff make it more of a home than hospital. Small and intimate and filled with health professionals who like their jobs and want to help you. They became like an extended family to me.The word "Nursing Home" can be very frightening. With images of the elderly abused and neglected. That is NOT Norwood. In spite of my condition and being surrounded by others in likewise circumstances, it is a good place. If you're heading to Norwood, you will be in good hands. God bless.

bcangel grant: It was the hardest part of love is watching someone so close to you die .The nurses were exceptionally wonderful and compassionate.Mrs . Kornak passed away in dignity.Thank you !! For keeping her as comfortable during her final days .

Andrea Parliament: Our experience was exceptional. Kind, personalized care. Thank you for making my mother's passing so much easier to accept knowing she was being so well cared for. My mother's last words were to welcome back her a favourite nurse after two days off. Thank you.

Blair Fulop: thank you on the 4th floor for all your caring and taking careof me when i really need the help.i would recommend this place to all my family andfriends. excellent services all except the foodi would recommend not eating it lousy foodthe same thing everyday.

Werner Becker: What kind of hospital is that on the one hand wants to help sick people, but on the night after the shift without protection, it sends its employees to the parking lot for miles. This is an indecent and indecent behavior towards his employees, who do such important work.

vahid ghadiri: They are the best !!!

Ashbourne: what do users think?

Kathryn Roberts: The Ashbourne is in Edmonton, Alberta. It's a non-profit and inclusive apartment building - all the suites are rentals. It opened around 2000 and has been a reliable home for the residents ever since. Often there's apartments for rent if people are needing temporary accommodations while getting treatment at the nearby hospital or visiting from out of town. The rent includes the evening meal! The Ashbourne is an independent living facility, thus family and friends are welcome to visit anytime. One can "age in place" for the most part, because there are assisted living services available if necessary. There's also a lovely, shaded, fenced-in outdoor courtyard for BBQs or just to get fresh air while visiting with others. Our family will sit outside when we have a family member visiting with a dog and especially when we're worried about one of us having cold symptoms. The Ashbourne supplies good, plentiful meals in each floor's dining room, as well as comfortable, well maintained suites. The location is in the heart of the university, in the Garneau neighbourhood, so plenty to see when walking about.

Ruth Petesky: My mom lived there for about 3 years. She had to move to receive a higher level of care. She very much enjoyed the activities provided by Ashbourne. The food was excellent, which is really important for showing care for the well being of the people who live at Ashbourne. My mom was there during Covid lockdowns and the staff took the safety of all who came into the facitlity very seriously and they tried there best to provide some level of entertainment for the residence as was possible under such difficult circumstances.

Tracy ET Stewart: . There is a good drop-off zone, and there is a 15 minute loading zone in front when you just need to run in quickly.Overall, I highly recommend the Ashbourne - we've been very thankful to the staff for making a good home for our family member.

Don Ianson: I have a family member living at The Ashbourne and I'm happy to give the highest rating to the people, location, and the services and facilities. The real difference maker is the people, at every level. Discovered The Ashbourne by taking a tour and talking to some of the staff. Instant peace of mind. Highly recommended.

Ernest Jacobson: My sister lives at Ashbourne, and it is a very good place. Meals are very good, staff are helpful and friendly. Organized outings and activities are frequent and are valued and appreciated by residents. My sister is very happy living at Ashbourne, and I enjoy visiting her there.

Tracey M: My mom moved into Ashbourne in 2019. We loved everything and everyone with Ashbourne. Her apartment was perfect and homey. My mom loved the food. Meals were flavorful and served plated to the residents. The location was great for our family and friends to visit on a regular basis as well as location to the U of A hospital. All the staff is welcoming and caring, friendly and fun. Lots of events for the residents and family. We lost our Mom before Xmas, all staff was supportive and compassionate. Our experience with Ashbourne was everything we had hoped for. My Mom was so happy there ❤️ Thank you to everyone at Ashbourne

Meghan Markowski: My grandma lives at Ashbourne and has had an amazing experience. The staff is kind and helpful. There are activities for residents to attend which is especially important when the resident lives alone, which is the case for my grandma. My Grandma attends the dinner put on by the company each night and says the food is very good. She also is sat with another single so she is not alone. Ashborne gave my grandma a community after the passing of my grandfather and we are forever grateful.

Robert Markowski: The level of personal care is amazing. They truly get to know the residents and treat them like a family would.

Carrie Markowski: My mother-in-law has lived here for a number of years and really enjoys it. There are field trips and lots of daily activities to keep her busy, and her place is warm and cosy! Thank you Ashbourne!

Kirstin Sykes: My parents lived in the Ashbourne for about 5 years together before my father needed a higher level of care and they had to move. After my father passed away, my mother chose to return to live there on her own. The variety of activities and resources available to residents is wonderful. The staff are very engaged and many have worked there for a long time providing quality care. The food is prepared on site and is of good quality and variety. The location is convenient and easily accessible. I would recommend this facility for your loved one as a great opportunity for them to have an active social life in a welcoming environment.

Marianne Rankin: Two of my family members enjoyed living at Ashbourne. Very nice sized suites. All staff is very helpful, professional and caring. The LPNs and HCAs were absolutely outstanding and accommodated my relatives changing needs as they aged. Truly wonderful.

lorne pendleton: One of the best not-for-profit homes for seniors in Edmonton because most staff really like to work there. I do some volunteer work for them. They are across the street from the University of Alberta Hospital and a block or two off Whyte, and that is also convenient for the LRT and bus. They are plugged into advanced innovation and offer 'smart n friendly' technology for those who want a little extra peace of mind. I suggest you take a tour to find out more.

thomas bizi: Great place to work as a nurse best LPN and RN ever

Luci Hachey: I contacted the Ashbourne to find out more about the facility and see if it might be an option for my parents. I found the staff that I was introduced to very friendly. I was given a tour of the entire building it was very clean and inviting. The Ashbourne is very close to the University Hospital which is extremely convenient. While my parents aren't ready to leave country living for the big city, I would definitely encourage others to consider the Ashbourne.

David Wolfe: Amazing staff and Services ! Can not say enough about this place. Set your mind at ease when your loved one moves in. Always going the extra mile for their clients. 100% Recommended, if you can find a vacancy!!!

Claudette Shuchuk: My husband and I have nothing but total respect for the management and staff at the Ashbourne. They took amazing care of my mother in law. They always had the time and patience to deal with her even as her mental condition worsened during her stay. The facility is clean and well maintained. The food is excellent and the care is first rate as the staff go the extra mile. My husband and I compared the Ashbourne to many other facilities and found it to be the best in price and services offered. The facility is set up as an apartment which my mother in law liked because she didn't really want to live in a nursing home. This facilitated her agreeing to the move. Residents have the option of eating in the same floor dinning area or in their room. They provide weekly delivery of bread milk and other basic need items. The location is excellent, close to restaurants, shopping, banks and medical facilities and bus service is located nearby. Their social activity programs are excellent and a hairstylist, no charge laundry facility is available for all residents to use.The manager of the facility, Sherry handled the most delicate issues with compassion and empathy. I have recommended the Ashbourne to a neighbor who's loved one is now living at the facility and she has nothing but praise for the Ashbourne.Based on how my Mother In Law was treated at the Ashbourne while she was at that facility I would give it a 5 star Rating and recommend that you call the Ashbourne to find out more.

Sprucewood Place Housing Community: what do users think?

Pam T: My sister lived at Sprucewood Place for over nine years where she received excellent care. The staff are truly caring and go above and beyond to help the residents. The activities are always varied and numerous. I was always confident, and at peace knowing that my sister was in good and capable hands. I highly reccomend Sprucewood Place.

Dwayne Lagimodiere (Eazimonie jr): 👌👍

Brandy Phillip: The facility has a big care team with lots of senior staff, a very interpersonal recreational team and one of the few sites that have support workers. Proud to call it my second home.
