Strathcona Science Provincial Park: what do users think?

Gordon William Brunin: I met the love of my life there last year!

Craig James: I ride my mountain bike there. Fun trails.

A Laroc: So many trails! Such a hidden gem. Great place for a peaceful stroll and lots of picnic areas.

Richard Corry: Great place to stage and bike from.

Dmitriy Puryk: Great 👍🏼

Andrew Szeto: Nice little quiet place to go for a stroll. A bit hidden and out of the way. But nice if you are looking for a park in the city that's not busy.

Stuart pretzlaw: Always a great view!

Eckehardt krieger: Loved it. Every experience

Kyler Dyck: Very good time

Darryl Molloy: The park was once an aboriginal camp and the park was established to preserve the site from encroaching industrial development. The park contains several abandoned interpretive buildings which unfortunately are now shuttered. Remnants of the park's history as a public science center include triangular obelisks, a boardwalk and some interpretive plaques.Another discovery in the glorious city which I am fortunate enough to call home. Definitely a repeat visit is called for!Restrooms: Plenty of public washrooms.Picnic area: Ample areas for a picnic.

Elk Island National Park: what do users think?

M J: Great place to go with family to enjoy nature and watch the wildlife.

albertabowhunter: Wonderful place to visit, especially in September when the elk are bugling

GringoW1995: We camped here in a motorhome at Astotin Lake for one night. Very friendly staff, great signage and great information about Elk Island. Unfortunately we didn't see any moose, bison or bears, but we did see 4 squirrels 🐿️

Nick: Very nice and peacuful. Quute a lot gorgeous lakes and trails to visit, alot of bisons too

Ashiq Hussain: Beautiful

Chelsea Elliott: Great experience... Definately recommend

Mac Luu Ha: Can anyone tell me where to watch buffalo??? Cause i dont any sight of even one, are they hiding or sleeping?

Ryan Gray: Please keep in mind that these are all wild animals and should be treated with respect and caution.

Tyler Friesen: Love this place! 10 minutes outside the city and you feel like your in a different world. Hiking and trails are amazing, the thick forrests and rolling meadows are out of dreams. The smells as you walk will enchant your senses and leave you coming back for more.Restrooms: Nothing fancy always cleanDog-friendliness: Some trails but not all allow dogs. Due to wildlife and preservation of the trails. Check the maps first

Ryan MacArthur: This is a beautiful park that contains many wild animals. It is a shot in the dark if you are going with the mindset of seeing a ton of bison roaming around. They are there but you need to identify their habits and go with their natural timings. It may be better if the park updates their movements on their websites to give people a better chance to see the elk or bison. The swimming area and park is awesome with many amenities that the kids love. Blue green algae explosion has hit the water bad this year though.Playground: Awesome amount of different features and unique play areas. Kids love running around on this. Kids also have fun trying to find all the animal information stickers around the place.Restrooms: Very clean and easily accessible. It is nice to walk into a park and not worry about having to go to an austere dirty bathroom in the sweaty heat of summer.Picnic area: Beautiful spot to have a fire with the family and enjoy all the views. If you are lucky and able to mix the picnic with live music it is amazing.

Harshavardan Ma: It is a great getaway place… The place isn’t much crowded and it’s peaceful… There are loads of trials and places to rest or take a break… The lake way is extremely good… The staffs here are friendly and kind… Make sure to grab a map if you are there for the first time… A calming experience guaranteed…

Zaphia Condie: It was gorgeous and quiet. We really enjoyed our time there.Restrooms: Restrooms were pristine. Clean and no smell.

John Addison: Had a great time. Pushed our comfort levels a bit trying to keep up with our son. Got used to the heights after a while and had fun. Turned out to be a good workout holding on to ropes for dear life while standing on wobbly pieces of wood 30 or 40 feet in the air. We'll go again. Seems like the kind of activity that you could do a few times over the summer without getting bored.
