Frank Lee's Muay Thai Kickboxing: what do users think?

Ironman: Best gym

Trey Irwin: If you want to learn how to fight and compete, come to Franks. Best gym in western canada by a long shot, the history of the gym speaks for itself giving a real pro feel. I’ve trained muay thai in thailand and what Sifu Frank teaches is light years ahead of anything I learned over there. 5 stars isn’t enough for this place.

Clover Caster: very good💪

Juba Jubaka: Of it is the place for a good martial arts

Hunter Niles: You’ll never find a better gym anywhere else

Nikki Talbot-Jones: Frank Lee's Gym has an amazing learning environment. Very friendly trainers, Frank himself is a very energetic teacher. Your mates and teachers feel like family. Classes are packed with knowledge and are so much fun. Beginner classes are 3 days a week for 1 1/2 hr. The gym itself has been around for 41 years and is well maintained. If you want to learn Muay Thai I highly recommend this establishment.

DAWG: Trained at Franks for years in the 90’s. Frank, Billy, Gasper, Jimmy, Blake, Mike McDonald...just a great bunch of guys and a fabulous place to train. It’s nice to see that Frank’s is still going strong. I don’t know of any other gym that’s been around as long as Franks, which speaks volumes. I hope to visit Franks again someday when I’m back in Edmonton.

agzoul lahoucine: A perfect place to learn martial arts, take your time tell you found a right place and right coach

Aden Forest: Perfect environment for training. Multiple instructors push you to be better in different aspects of your game. Real fearless and hardworking fighters train here which gives you something to aspire to.

His classes are a great workout in addition to giving you a high-level skill set. You don't need to be great to start, you just have to start to be great. 10/10 would recommend him to anyone looking to get in better shape or learn to fight either for competition or self-defense.

Noah Hagos: Friendly atmosphere in my beginner Muay Thai class

Michelle Hanlon: Professor Mike is not only professional, but also a thoughtful and empathetic teacher. Time after time he has shown genuine concern and eagerness to help and develop the skills of all his students. It is clear that he legitimately loves it when his students succeed. If someone is having a challenge in class, he is there to hear them out, and give them just the right advice. He also has a wonderful staff around him. His jujitsu & Muay Thai class instructors enhance the teaching environment that he has fostered, and his front desk person, Annie, is always helpful and kind, both to new visitors and longtime students. There is a strong sense of community among students.Professor Mike has made Arashi-Do gym a safe and fun learning environment, where anyone can cultivate a great skillset for self defense, competition, or just a fun hobby.

Arashi-Do Martial Arts: what do users think?

Peter Crossen: older than other students. I immediately and always since then feel welcomed and pushed to do better. The students are also nothing but supportive and respectful to each other

michael hakobyan: Professor Lane. The man. The myth. The legend.

April Berndt: This studio is so welcoming. Both Professor Lane and Coach John made me daughter feel so comfortable she wishes she could go to Jiu Jitzu everyday. The building is clean and inviting. The payment process is fast and easy. There is a viewing area for you to watch the class. The coaches are just silly enough to keep the kids attention but also strict enough that they listen and respect the learning time. They have so much fun while gaining useful skills that I can already see is building my 8 year old daughters confidence!

Tiffany Lukian: Absolutely was sold on my first experience there with my 9 year old daughter. In short amount of time we were there on our first visit I seen improvements and growth in my little one. Lane made me feel comfortable, and made me feel like my kid is part of something great !

Nibras Sharif: The owner and instructors in this place are very positive and energetic. The whole environment here is happy and calm. My son loves coming here and they have done a great job of making him welcome and improved his focus. The facility is incredibly clean and they follow all the hygiene and safety protocols. I am writing a review because I found them from reading reviews and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to give confidence and focus to their kids.

Brittany McNamara: Amazing positive atmosphere and instructors!I never write reviews.. but my kido has gained so much from this place it's only fair they get the recognition they truly deserve. Professor Lane and all of the instructors welcomed our family with open arms and still continue to show us so much positivity and support years later.I cannot thank all the instructors enough at Arashi Do Mayfield. Keep being amazing!

Steven Sanders: I first started at Arashi-do under their MMA program and later switched to the BJJ and Muay Thai programs. Arashi-do and Professor Lane in particular have been a significant factor in assisting me in reaching several important goals inside and outside of the dojo. The skills and confidence that has come with those have helped me overcome mental and physical challenges that would have been otherwise very challenging. The cirriculum of both BJJ and Muay Thai translates well into a real world self defense situation. With this being said I have only ever heard the instructors advocate leaving a situation before it comes to blows. The instructors will work with anyone to reach their specific goals. Their timelines make sense and are made with safety in mind. Whether for conditioning or preparing for a higher level fight or just to meet new people, Professor Lane and his instructors are able to work with anyone who has a willing and teachable attitude.Beyond what is taught I have always found that Professor Lane and his staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of their students. They once heard in the news that a member of my profession had lost their life and Professor Lane took the time to privately ask me how I was handling the news. This outreach meant more than any other class I had had in my time at Arashi-do and it was my impression that they did it because the coaches see beyond the gym membership and truly wish to help all of their students be better and get through any difficulty that life brings forward.

Tanya Doucette: I was encouraged to do more than I ever thought possible in boot camp and was shown I could do it. During Saturday sparring I learned how to use the correct amount of power when pads where removed. I also has the chance to meet people from other diciplines or gyms and how to defend different moves such as a clinch hold gone wrong. Lol I started yoga and really enjoyed the peace and relaxation it provided. I would have liked to join BJJ and although that didn't happen I enjoyed watching them have fun rolling around the floor. My favorite BJJ trick was when they went from their shoulders to their feet. My main program was Kickboxing where I learned size doesn't matter it's training, heart and pure will. They didn't let me give up on me...I won't forget their training, their kindness or how much of a difference it made to my mental health. I felt healthy, I looked better, I was strong and confident.

Kevin Neves (kooliokevin): Excellent Jiu Jitsu classes for my 6 year old son

Ken Tran: Positive:ProfessionalismGood Performance and Discipline Martial Arts ! school teaches a strong self defense technique and help you confident in your life.

Sheena Neves: Our son has been going here since November last year, and he absolutely loves it! The instructors are amazing and so friendly! Thanks guys!

Kootie Kutney: My son started mini monkey classes in January, and I cannot say enough good things about the program! Professor Lane and all the instructors are amazing at keeping the kids attention, motivating and teaching techniques in a fun and relatable way for the little ones.I have definitely seen a difference in my sons confidence, fitness level, resilience and attention span since beginning. I highly recommend this dojo! The facility is bright, open and clean with change rooms and lots of space. I really appreciate the bleachers for parents to watch.Since Covid, we have been attending online classes. The care and passion for the sport from the instructors is still evident through the screen. We hope to begin in person classes again soon, after speaking and have the upmost confidence in the safety steps they are taking to keep everyone safe.

Sarah Williams: I've started taking muay thai classes here and I would definitely recommend them. The instructors are knowledgeable and very good at explaining the techniques, and pay close attention to each student. The class itself is not only good for learning the techniques, its also an amazing cardio workout, even if you have no desire to actually fight someday. And they are doing a wonderful job of adhering to social distancing/mask rules. If you are a new or experienced martial artist looking for a great place to train, check it out!

JP P: Prof Lane is an excellent instructor to my daughter. She’s been training there for 8 years now.

Min Yao: As a parent I highly recommend this place for children. My son Victor has been training in the Arashi-do Mayfield for more than 3 years now, and he absolutely loves it. This is his most favorable activity! The instructors are awesome. And to name a few, Professor Lane, coach Carlos, Coach Shawn, Coach Tin are absolutely amazing. We tried a few other place for martial arts before joining this place, and among all the places we tried, this one really stands out as the best. And our three-years + experience has proved that. Not only they are strong in technical training, they are also very good at teaching kids a lot of important things in life: discipline, being kind, fair play and a lot more. And equally important, the coaches are very kid and caring towards the kids, and I can tell that they actually care a lot about the training, growth and well-being of the kids in their program. I am so happy about this program, and have been recommending it to my friends. It's definitely one of the best decisions i have made in terms of my son's extra-curriculum activities! So a big shout-out and thank you to all the coaches at Arashi-do Mayfield! You guys are awesome!

Avenue Boxing Club: what do users think?

noah althouse: Best gym in the city.

Colton Smith: Amazing club! Excellent coaching, super friendly atmosphere, lots of space and equipment. Highly recommended

Lance Morin: Probably the best most genuine people I've met in my life, except Sylvio, he didn't like me much. Other than that, I really appreciated the hospitality, the dirty, intense workouts they put us through during bag drill Mondays. The Avenue really helped me develop my character and allowed me to box when I didn't have much cash when I was going to College. The only prerequisite was that I agreed to volunteer to cover my time using the gym. Big ups, and much love to Rholland Labbe, the owner/operator of this club, he is truly and really a class act, and an amazing man. Thanks Rholland, Jesper, Sylvio, Stan, Eric, Muhammed and all the other boys and gals that frequented the place so often. You guys were more or less my family for the time I was there. Much Love to the Avenue Boxing Club!!

Brian Lim: Nice place to learn to box. There are two to three coaches there to help you learn to box. Coaches are very knowledgeable and have been doing it for a long time. They have loaner gear if you don't have your own stuff. I'd at least get your own hand wraps. It's bit small but it's not too busy so you can get your work in. Pay monthly membership. This isn't a fitness, mma, kickboxing or workout place, this is a boxing club; I've seen people come in asking these questions. They accept all skill levels and will work with you to train to fight as an amateur if you want.

Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts: what do users think?

Zachary Shier: One of the best places to learn and practice martial arts. It offers a realistic blend of the traditional styles. I started in 2015 and still doing it to this day. Master Woodford is super helpful along with other senior students. If I could say what are the 5 best things to say about the school. It would be the instructions are top notch, the people are friendly, the classes are fun and beneficial, training at your own pace, and the style itself is flexible and functional.

Jesus Santorum: Great MMA gym. Takes aspects of traditional martial arts and mixes them together. The goal is always self defense and what techniques are practical. Great place. They have moved locations to the whyte ave area, gym is named "freestyle Martial Arts".

Katie Campbell: I love Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts! I was scared to join martial arts at first thinking that I wouldn't know what I was doing and would look like a complete idiot. Everyday I am learning and doing more and more things that I never thought I could do. The instructors are absolutely incredible and challenge and inspire me everyday. They truly take the time to make sure you are happy and confident with what you are learning and wont hesitate to talk to you or help you if needed. Even the students are quick to lend a hand during class. I love everyone at this club they make you feel like you are part of a family from day one. If I could recommend any place to train there would be no questions asked, Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts is the place to be. If you are looking for a place to learn self defense and get in shape, you would be missing out on an amazing experience if you chose any place other than here!

Rebecca Woodford: We have the best students! The people that train are so nice and inspire me everyday! Such a wonderful enviroment!I am sad to see a reviewer got the wrong info about our program. We do have a belt systme, however, we do not charge for any testing at all!Keep up the great work everyone!

Westchester Boxing Edmonton: what do users think?

Deanna Daigneault: Loved it, first time and it was so awesome. The people were friendly and professional. It Was the best first time boxing experience i could have ever asked for. Thank you to all of your beautiful Staff ❤️

Leo Marsh: 52 years in the Boxing Lifestyle....as a Fighter, Trainer and Manager of Pro and Amateur Fighters

Ivas Sabadash: Words cannot express how much I love this place. They give valid advice based on one's body type/fight style. Being an anxious person, I always get nervous when sparring. However, Leo and Louise are able to calm me down and make me feel capable and worthy of being there, and give useful advice while sparring. Since I am new to the sport, I am aware that I am not great. However, after a sparring session that I am particularly proud of, they celebrated me and seemed genuinely happy with how I did. I think that is helpful regarding one's growth in the sport. They also know just how much to push or console a person. Not only have these people taught me how to box, they also taught me valuable lessons that are useful and valid in life and in growing one's self esteem. The boxers who train there are wonderful as well; they help me out and make me feel welcome. They correct my mistakes without sounding too critical or judgmental. I strongly reccomend this place, for I think it is suitable for everyone!

Mehar Ali Shayan: Miss you guys.

Hill James: Great gym. It’s a smaller gym but that means just a tighter group of people who you eventually grow together and be like family. Management is great and always willing to take the time to explain or show you the way. Hosting events regularly and doing great community work.If you’re ever thinking of getting into boxing whether it’s just to get into shape or to fight, you’ll have a great experience with Westchester Boxing Club!

Arashi-Do Edmonton East: what do users think?

Trysh Sturkenboom: I initially brought my son here just to try to get him involved in something, but Jiu-jitsu ended up being his passion. Shannon and Neil are amazing at what they do, and they really care about the people who attend. I feel like they gave my son something invaluable that he will carry with him the rest of his life. I'm so grateful to them, and I know that any family who is lucky enough to be involved with this place will not regret it.

Irshaad Khan: .But just as important as the physical improvements in my life, so have been the mental improvements. The welcoming friendly environment at the gym established by the strong family presence of Professor Neil and his family are the best part of training here. There are many days where I've been very down, but once I got to the gym I would quickly forget about all of my problems. On the jiu-jitsu side, I have to say the instruction and curriculum is top tier. I've made incredible gains in my skill development in just a few short years. I don't compete, but I know professor and his family are at almost every tournament to support all of their students.I haven't been able to attend as many muy thai classes as I'd like to, but the classes I've attended have always been fun, challenging, and a great work out.If you're thinking about training, don't hesitate to come for their free trial. It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.

Jits N Eats: A wonderful club! The space has two mats with lots of natural light. There's a huge emphasis on family here and a place for everyone at this club. They're great members of the community. Definitely check them out!

Gregory: Best atmosphere for training, and family

Gabriel Hamilton: I love this place

Ernest Lesnik: Awesome family ran dojo. Nicest people to deal with. Kids and adult programs. And professor Neil's belt is so black that light cannot pass thru it. Check em out.

Ann Rivera: My son goes to classes here, and is always happy to attend, he learns new techniques, I do recommend it.

Troy Sorensen: Awesome instructors, super welcoming! Don't hesitate to try a class.

Legacy Films: Great place to learn and a great environment! Professor Neil is always willing to help teach moves

Joyce: Great teachers, been coming here for a few years now. An amazing family friendly environment, with a great adult women's class. 10/10.

Markus McKiernan: Great place, great people, great training. If you're looking for a challenge, I recommend checking it out.

Jay McLachlan: I’ve trained with Arashido for ten years and I switched from the north side to this location a year ago and must say, it is a fantastic family owned and operated martial arts gym to be a part of, welcoming and great for beginners. Professor Neil and his entire family are all passionate, experienced martial artists driven to train and teach across multiple disciplines.
