Sarah Ho: A wonderful Martial Arts school. We are in both the kids and adult kung fu classes, and have only had great experiences. The instructors are dedicated, passionate, and caring, and have inspired us so much! We love the team/family feeling to the club, and highly recommend if you are looking for a martial arts school.

hussein damerji: Canadian Ging Wu Arts Assn attended our DMA Winter National Tournament on Feb 18 in Calgary AB.If I could give the C G W team more than 5 stars, I definitely would. All of them looked amazing in their uniforms, they did Great Fighting, as well as professional Form Taolu.I really loved what they did. It was so great for the people to watch them.Thank you Master for sending your fabulous team to the event. I am very proud of them.

Thang Phung: Great team environment. Friendly, dedicated non-profit organization. Teaches discipline, hard work, and athleticism.

Paul Klaszus: What I like most about this school is how much pride the instructors have in showing us how to discipline our bodies AND our minds.Even with my incredibly busy lifestyle, they honour my commitment with the same honour they have for those who have perfect attendance.PLUS: I’m maintaining my fitness with 5 hours A WEEK.lastly, there’s a special thing that happens in your soul when you can show someone what you’ve learned with what little time we have on this planet.Performing for the demonstration today was a special moment for me and my wife. These past few years have been pretty hard.

Jessica Bernard: Amazing place, very family oriented and welcoming.

Andy new: Ging Wu offers a great martial arts experience for people of all ages. If you are interested in Hung gar, Lion dance, or just being a part of a great community, then this is the place for you!

Vincent Lau: , creating a great atmosphere for everyone to have fun. The location at which this martial arts club is based at would be convenient for many who live in Edmonton as their are in Chinatown, near the heart of the city. I have been at Ging Wu for the past 10 years and would highly recommend it to anyone who would have interest in practicing Kung Fu or would like to know more about Chinese Kung Fu.

Tiger Lee: Very friendly and great instructor to student ratio. Family atmosphere and non profit organization.

MPDA Martial Arts: what do users think?

Jessica Ng: Really loving my experience with this club! As a smaller person, I appreciate learning how someone my size can still be effective in self defence against someone bigger. Lots of practical skills to be learned, which was what I prefer over the showy stuff

Suzanne B: I've been training in this martial arts system for more than 10 years now. The focus on practical self-defense is central to the way they operate. It's accessible to people of all body types and athletic ability. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone who wants to learn to defend themselves as a general life skill.

Bobby Lee: This school immediately gets you immersed in self defense. If you are looking for MMA style, this school is not for you, but if you are looking for one of the most effective, efficient self defense system to defend yourself against 1 or more assailants, this is the place you want to be. You will learn more here about anti-rape, knife attack and multiple attacker techniques than anywhere else in the city.

Alessandro Capito: I've been training with MPDA Martial Arts for about 5 years in total, and my experience has been great. Very focused in Self-Defense, with techniques that really work, for all skill levels. Two thumbs up!

Andrew Jackson Obol: I've trained here for over six months. Even at a yellow belt level I am sure of defending myself well. I keep going back.

Alberta Shaolin Kung Fu Academy: what do users think?

Heather de Kok: A positive and confidence building Kung Fu place. I highly recommend if you want to be strong, fit and capable.

Aaron Patel: and fitness. I never felt it was too easy or too hard. You get out what you put in, but the music and energy make it fun to put more in. A special shout out to Instructor Phil for combining the intensity of cardio with his knowledge of proper striking and kicking technique. It kept me motivated and focused to try harder. I hope you will give it a try too!

Kim Mesiatowsky: Alberta Shaolin Kung Fu Academy has a little bit of everything. If you are researching for a professional yet extremely family orientated Kung Fu studio this is the perfect place to train.Whether you are looking to improve your self-defence, join the most invigorating kick boxing class, develop a healthier lifestyle or you are simply looking for some structure for your children; this studio has something to offer everyone!Once you start on your martial arts career, you become part of the extended family and it makes training that much more exciting, competitive and enjoyable. Instructor Phil has a great philosophy on Kung Fu and offers insight into the world of ancient Kung Fu traditions along with his new world thinking. This combination is a great environment for our kids to be immersed in.Instructor Phil is one of the most patient, caring, perceptive individuals my son and I have ever had the pleasure of training with. That's why after almost two decades of training at the studio we still enjoy going back and taking part in the variety of classes.I highly recommend Alberta Shaolin Kung Fu Academy!!

James Leigh: This is a great place to go, it is clean and the instruction is fantastic. Phil Woo and Tom run an excellent place. I'm having so much fun here, and learning so much too

Inthe Jonzone: Amazing trainer, works extremely well with the students. Very interactive with a strong focus on technique and discipline. I would highly recommend the Academy to any families who would like their children to be in a comfortable environment of learning, respect, fun and friendship. For the adults, the cardio kickboxing is one of the most challenging and results-driven workouts around, based on core strength, stability and agile movement. The best part of that class is it changes from each session, and no two are the same.

Addison: We have two children enrolled in this school and I couldn't be happier with our experience.Phil is a one of a kind teacher, and you'll only come across someone like him once every decade. He teaches more than the art of Kung fu, he teaches discipline, respect, confidence and so much more. If you're looking to enroll your kids or even yourself, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place.

Karrie Yeung: My kids have been taking lessons at this school for more than five years. Excellent instructor with passion in teaching kung fu and kids have been loving it. They not only learn the kung fu moves, but also important values such as self control, perseverance, respect, etc.

ashley kerik: I have been coming here for several years going to cardio kicking boxing class . I highly recommend it

Sarah Thomson: Great trainer, fantastic team-like environment. The class is energetic and fun with great LOUD music, and it is the best all over workout I can get in 1 hour. Has been my #1 workout choice for 3 years now👌

Amanda Lee: My son has recently enrolled in the little dragons class and I can say, without a doubt, that it has done wonders for his confidence. "Constructor Phil" has been teaching Kung Fu for as long as I can remember and it is truly reflective in his class. He has a way with the children where they actually want to pay attention, learn, and grow. They strive under his leadership and teachings and I look forward to the seeing the great influence this will have on my son as he grows.I highly recommend this academy!

Nathan Leverette: Excellent programs, facility, and instruction. The traditional curriculum and applications are modernized and fresh without taking away from the core philosophies. I have been a student in the Kung Fu program for years, and have personally witnessed people of all ages and abilities grow in many ways, from their physical attributes to their discipline in how they approach every aspect of life. The cardio kickboxing program is a great high-energy exercise outlet, and the kids programs are outstanding as well!

Ji Hong Wu Shu & Tai Chi College: what do users think?

Jerrett Hansen: Great instructors and community.

Brandon Luo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value

Cindy Ho: This is an excellent Tai Chi school! Ji Hong offers something for people of all ages, If you want to improve your health, strength and flexibility check out this school. The instructors provide excellent training for a variety of TaiChi forms. Health Qi Gong classes are also provided which is excellent for balance and flexibility.

hailin liang: Shifu Gu is really good. What she teach is not only pattern but also the detail in every movement. like: a simple stand, wrist, palm, fist should be in which direction. My kids love martial art. They like kongfu. And I learned taichi. Slow but strong my muscles.

Wai Tin Ng: If you are serious about practising Taichi, Ji Hong Wushu & Taichi College is the place to go. This is not a school where you will be told to “watch and try”. Movements are explained what they are supposed to achieve and there is science to back up the theories. Over the 30 years taking classes at Ji Hong has enhanced my physical and mental health, making my work as a massage therapist more effective and enjoyable.

B W Lee: I have tried out different schools over the years and find Ji Hong to be the best. At Ji Hong, Tai Chi is taught systematically. Basic movements can be learned in one or two terms. The essence of Tai Chi follows after that. You will really learn what internal martial art is all about. Learning Tai Chi at Ji Hong helped me manage a stressful career. Now that I am retired, I am immersing myself in the various Tai Chi forms that the school has to offer. Not too many schools has such a comprehensive program at various levels of learning. I just love my time spent learning at the two Edmonton studios.

hit0531: This martial arts is not a a fighting martial arts. If you don't like it then find another one.

Aurora de Leon: My son has been attending Tien Lung for about 5 years now. The instructors have always been amazing and dedicated individuals. We did experience some issues with specific management staff re: billing and general customer service a few years ago. Thankfully, they have recently changed over the management team with much more customer service-oriented, responsive and approachable individuals! This really aligns and supports the great work the frontline instructors are doing and shines a light on the high-quality instruction and leadership programs offerred at Tien Lung.

Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts: what do users think?

Zachary Shier: One of the best places to learn and practice martial arts. It offers a realistic blend of the traditional styles. I started in 2015 and still doing it to this day. Master Woodford is super helpful along with other senior students. If I could say what are the 5 best things to say about the school. It would be the instructions are top notch, the people are friendly, the classes are fun and beneficial, training at your own pace, and the style itself is flexible and functional.

Jesus Santorum: Great MMA gym. Takes aspects of traditional martial arts and mixes them together. The goal is always self defense and what techniques are practical. Great place. They have moved locations to the whyte ave area, gym is named "freestyle Martial Arts".

Katie Campbell: I love Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts! I was scared to join martial arts at first thinking that I wouldn't know what I was doing and would look like a complete idiot. Everyday I am learning and doing more and more things that I never thought I could do. The instructors are absolutely incredible and challenge and inspire me everyday. They truly take the time to make sure you are happy and confident with what you are learning and wont hesitate to talk to you or help you if needed. Even the students are quick to lend a hand during class. I love everyone at this club they make you feel like you are part of a family from day one. If I could recommend any place to train there would be no questions asked, Edmonton Mixed Martial Arts is the place to be. If you are looking for a place to learn self defense and get in shape, you would be missing out on an amazing experience if you chose any place other than here!

Rebecca Woodford: We have the best students! The people that train are so nice and inspire me everyday! Such a wonderful enviroment!I am sad to see a reviewer got the wrong info about our program. We do have a belt systme, however, we do not charge for any testing at all!Keep up the great work everyone!
