It was an amazing course with Adam and when I go back in Edmonton, I'll probably take it again. So much info!All the staff working in the store are so knowledgeable about the knives - very impressive. I definitely have my eye on a couple knives!

Barbara-Jean Lake-Ramnath: . Kris, the store manager demonstrated how to correctly use a honing rod to sharpen our knife. We can still take advantage of the free sharpening that comes with the purchase of a knife. Chris was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The store sells an assortment of knives, axes, and kitchenware. They also offer a class in cutting techniques in which I will consider enrolling. Very impressed with the store and its staff.
Jeff Geisler: Took two classes at this location over the last week. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to learn about knives and is interested in quality products and quality advice. They offer a number of products that will last a lifetime and elevate your culinary experience. I purchased 3 of these Higonokami knives, they are a high recommended as a gift or personal item as well. While I would like to shout out individual staff, they all are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Hailie Brophy: If you’re looking to maintain your knives at home, take your money here. I took their knife sharpening class and not only was it great value, it was very fun, hands on, and practical. Our instructor Adam has equal measures of knowledge and fun anecdotes, he made the class interesting and extremely informative. I left feeling confident that I could grow this skill. In addition, when you take the class you get discounts on their products which really helps you get set up with what you need. Highly recommend this place!

He showed as much enthusiasm for knives as I do and he genuinely listened to everything I said. He talked with me, laughed with me and was open to take time with me to look at various things I was interested in even if I wasn’t going to purchase them that day. He’s an irreplaceable employee which made me want to buy a new knife I’ve always wanted and an attachment for my knife sharpener which I never knew about but he showed me a lot of awesome tricks.

Gave us her personal recommendations as well as some comparable options based on price vs. quality! Super helpful and we ended up walking out with 4 knives, a chopping block and some extra little utensils. Price was good but the experience was the best! Matt Begg: I contacted Jason while I was looking for someone to make my first custom ordered fixed blade knife. I'd spoken with a number of makers across North America and up until that point I had not spoken with anybody who had the right combination of skill, value, and willingness to guide me through the process that I felt I required to be successful in this first venture with custom knives. I was a little frustrated at that point because I had been looking for some time, and I know that my expectations and desires were completely out of whack due to my naivety about making knives.Well, Leclair Knive was my last stop in the search and I couldn't be more happy with that choice. Jason took the time to explain every option to me. He was very understanding as I fumbled over choices, making decisions and then changing them later. Perhaps most importantly he gave me real quality feedback on what I was thinking and how that might manifest in the overall product. His prices are fair and the timelines we set were met to the day. Through every stage of the creation of the knife he shared his progress, and not a single one of his commitments to me were unfufilled.Regarding the knife: what I initially had imagined did not even come close to what I got to hold in my hand a few days ago when my knife arrived. He took a bunch of disjointed ideas and concepts I had held in the beginning and formed them into an incredibly cohesive strategy of both functionality and aesthetic. Had I not been present for the entire process I would have thought that the finished product was meticulously conceived by a seasoned knife maker and not bumbled through by someone who'd never ordered a custom knife. Everything from the sheath, to the handles, to the bolster, and right down to the blade feels like one complete concept. Agian, I could not have imagined it better.This company will absolutely get my business again, and no matter what you know or do not know about ordering a knife I would absolutely recommend going with Jason Leclair and Leclair Knives.
