Kline Jewellers was founded by Irvine and Lilliana Kline and opened on October 18, 1917. A pioneer in the jewellery industry in Canada, Irvine was the son of Harold (HP) Kline.


At the store on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton, Kline specialized in the finest quality diamonds, watches and gold. They were also leaders in diamond remounting, and jewelry and watch repairs. Over the years Irving Kline kept up with the latest trends. He maintained close contact with the most famous names in watches such as Longine, Rolex and Bulova, and he and his repair service men were ahead of anyone else in the latest techniques. To ensure the most accurate results in watch repairs, all timepieces were electronically tested on the “vibrograf,” a precision Swiss-made instrument which produces a “cardiograph” to aid in the final adjustment of each watch.


The Kline selection of diamond rings included the well-known Orange Blossom Collection. Each Orange Blossom ring was guaranteed for quality, and carried free insurance against loss by fire or theft.


Irvine and Lilliana’s son, David Kline eventually took over the business and when he retired, his managing partner, Dick Newman purchased it.


In 1985, Klines moved from Jasper Avenue to Edmonton City Centre, and speed a second location in Kingsway Mall. Tom Towns, now retired form the Canadian Football League stepped in as a Managing Partner at this time.


In 1992 the business moved into The LeMarchand Mansion, building a studio workshop in-house with the ability to manufacture custom pieces from start to finish with the total participation of the customer.

Today, Tom Towns is the sole owner of Kline Custom Jewellery and Design's legacy. Kline Jewellers is recognized as one of the outstanding jewellery retailers in the country.
