Jamie Stenhouse: Gateway skating club has been fantastic with their learn to skate program. From their emails before the session starts detailing all equipment requires to where to sign in on the first day as examples. I have sent questions by email and received replies back with helpful answers. My son has progress so fast with their program and his love for skating and desire to play hockey has gotten stronger after every class with this club. Every coach has been great and my son has learned from them all. I walk around the glass of the rink when my son is skating and can hear the coaches communicating with the kids. From the stands this can appear that they are standing around doing nothing but that is far from the truth. The most impressive is the coaches patience and will to help the kids that just don't want to be their. The attention they give to try to still give them a positive experience. I am so proud to have my son learning all the aspects of skating with gateway.
David Kinley: . The amount of dedicated time and attention they gave him blew me away. My son LOVED going to his skating lessons even though it meant cold feet, and a sore bum from falling often he kept at it because the coaches/instructors were amazing! He has progressed from unable to stand for 1-2 seconds on ice to shuffle skating 5-8m without falling, getting up and going again! Cannot recommend gateway skating clubs pre-CanSkate highly enough! Thank you all for all your dedication and caring for my son!

Carter J: I’ve had my foster daughter at this club for the last 2 years. The head coach is not good with kids so I’m relieved to hear she’s not here any more. The other coaches are really good and so kind with children. I’ve spoken to the president on the phone. She got us hooked up with jumpstart and kid sport and helped us get really good equipment for cheap. I was surprised to read some of these mean reviews because the board is just volunteers who work really hard from what I can see. If other parents want to be in charge then they can volunteer too. But it’s funny how the people complaining never lift a finger to do anything for anyone else. Kindness goes a long way in my opinion and I have dealt with so much kindness at this club.
Kristin Howlett: The club is AMAZING! I joined the club several years ago when I was looking to get back into Figure Skating after being off the ice for almost 20 years. It is very difficult to find clubs that offer Adult programs other than Adult Can Skate. The coaching staff and board are very knowledgeable and welcoming. It's been so wonderful and fulfilling to be able to figure skate again and our adult group keeps growing which is exciting!
Bea Rubio: Our family loves this club! My sister moved to this club 5 years ago and her improvements and progress are definitely noticeable. She was stuck in a different club in the year prior to transferring with minuscule progress because they kept teaching her the same thing. Mayfield FSC is very different as we have noticed how much the coaches keep track and make sure to work on the things their skaters are struggling with so they can improve and progress on to the next skill / level. They also host fun fundraisers and enjoyable events for the skaters to participate in outside of their skating lessons to hang out with their friends outside of the ice!
Amanda Jarosch: We have been skating with Mayfield for year. Both my kids have been through PreCanSkate and CanSkate and my oldest is in the STAR program now! The coaches are amazing, the group activities the STAR skaters do for team building are so fun. My daughter loves this program!

Nikki Vaudrin: My family have been members of this club for over 30 years. I grew up skating here and now both of my children have grown up skating here. Fliteway is a family friendly environment. They have patient coaches, office staff that are always ready to answer questions and the best part is the skaters. The skaters are so supportive of one another, they eat lunch together, hang out both at the rink and outside of the rink. Our Fliteway family is one that is best and dear to our hearts. The club keeps costs low by offering fundraising opportunities. Without these my son would never have been able to make it to the national level of skating. Families can choose to participate or buy out the fundraising but I’m more than happy to be able to participate. I highly recommend this club to anyone looking to learn to skate or compete competitively ❤️

Family McBrydie: We have been with the club for almost 10 years. We find it a warm and welcoming environment. My children have made some amazing friendships. The coaches are patient, professional and make it fun for the kids. It is true, there is fundraising but we love the opportunity to participate in fundraising and pay lower ice fees. The expectations are laid out in the handbook at the start of the season/session and we can choose whether to opt in or out. Our family loves being apart of the Fliteway family.

This is the best synchronized skating club in Edmonton!

Denis Deng: Both my two girls are with the club since last year, this is great ice skating club in Edmonton, the coach and assistant are very responsible and knowledgeable, both my girls are so enjoyable and have fun here. I am glad to see them progressing throughout last couple of semesters.The administration team are super helpful, particularly, Cindy, the office manager. We had some family issues that we had to make schedule changes a couple of times, Cindy helped us resolve the issues within one day since my request, I am very impressed and much appreciate for her assistance.Definitely recommend this club.

Angela Mao: My daughter started with this club as a beginner in CANSkate and now she is taking figure skating lessons. It's been several years and she still loves skating here. The club and coaches are friendly and flexible.
Scott Olsen: Super flexible coaching staff, very accommodating when working with parents to help find a schedule that works for you. My daughter has been skating with Figure 8 for four years now, starting in CANSkate, and then progressing into Intro to Figure Skating and finally STARSkate. Kenilworth Arena is a cute, little rink with great ice and a nice spectator area. Figure 8 definitely has a the community skating club vibe going on, much more welcoming feel than a big club in huge, community centre rink which can be intimidating to people who aren't sure if figure skating or CANSkating lessons are for them.
Ehsanul Haque: My daughter has been skating here for three seasons and I am amazed at how much she had improved! Coaches are nice and friendly. Appreciate all the volunteers helping out. Wish there were a bit more one in one time though!
Rachael Robertson: Such a great skating club! We are in CanSkate and the instructors are great at helping myself and my kids as beginner skaters. My boys are much more confident on the ice. They also have great timeslots available that dont interfere with our other activities.

Scott Wilson: Ice is in great shape, We have Nets. Skate and Helmet rentals $2 Buy $20 Membership and skate for free all season. Warm up in the skate room while enjoying some concession snacks. Music played daily.

The rink itself was great no complaints. They also have the stands for little who are learning as well as helmets . We will definitely be going back

M M: You can skate in a small rink area or around the entire large skating ringing within an outdoor setting. There is a warm change area, overall lots of fun and well maintained
Jessica Chaplin: Great family friendly place to spend a day. They offer indoor warming area with washrooms where you can lace up your skates. Parking lot is close to the main building and the start of the ice way. They have fire pits and fire bbqs so you can bring your own wood and make a day of it. There is also covered picnic areas close to the fire pits that have lots of space to host events or simply enjoy a day in the park. There is lighting at night. You can skate the iceway or bring your own stick and puck and play some hockey. There is also a toboggan hill close by if you want to enjoy more than one winter activity.
