Metterra Hotel on Whyte: what do users think?

bryce ward: Nearby activities: Drinks at buckingham and Hudson’s and black dog and stroll around the ave looking at oddities and walking off the drinksSafety: They encourage patrons to watch them selves as a precautionFood & drinks: Well priced and very appetizing and not a long wait for it to be ready

Loranne Shields: Rooms: Nice deep bathtubs!Safety: Must have room keys to access the elevator.Food & drinks: Guests receive 10% off at a restaurant just down the street. The menu looked great for adults but not a place you would want to take kids.

Michael H.: Nice little get away from the everyday - #playingtourist

Jim O'Grady: The Metterra Hotel offers an unique experience that allows you to immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Whyte Avenue. You'll feel the rhythmic pulse of the community resonating throughout, creating an authentic connection that's second to none.Situated right on the bustling Whyte Avenue, the hotel's prime location offers immediate access to an array of captivating attractions. Indulge in an exquisite culinary journey as you explore an enticing selection of renowned restaurants, delightful pubs, and charming ice cream parlors. Uncover hidden gems within a tapestry of boutique shops and be captivated by the endless entertainment options that surround you, all within arm's reach.Embracing the dynamic atmosphere of the Strathcona neighborhood, the Metterra Hotel provides an electrifying backdrop of activity that envelops you in a vibrant ambiance. While the spirited atmosphere may come with a hum of urban sounds well into the night, it's a testament to the genuine allure of this engaging locale. If your intention is to be an active participant in the lively rhythm of the area, then this is undeniably the place to be.As you step into your accommodation, you'll find a well-appointed room. While a hint of classic charm may grace the decor, it adds to the inviting ambiance that surrounds you. While valet parking may present a slight inconvenience due to demand, you need to allow as much as 45 minutes notice to get your car brought around. The dedicated staff, while welcoming and amiable, might exhibit varying degrees of attentiveness, particularly among the breakfast service. Without the custom of tipping at breakfast, the staff attends only to the essentials. The complimentary breakfast is a quaint buffet-style affair which is a small but satisfying start to your day.The Metterra Hotel promises a secure and walkable neighborhood that invites you to explore the invigorating atmosphere guaranteeing an unforgettable stay.

Marc Aubin: The AC was down so she was extremely hot in the room. Had to keep the window open all evening and never fell asleep until after 3 pm because of the wooping and partying on white ave.Nearby activities: SameWalkability: AMAZING!!!Food & drinks: Insane amount of Great options.

Nick Mayers: Great hotel. Clean tidy and very friendly staff. Location is in a busy part of town with some fabulous restaurants and coffee shops on your doorstep. Late night traffic noise may be a problem for some. Plenty of bus routes from Hotel to explore Edmonton. Very handy if you're visiting the University of Alberta. Easy to walk down town across the river. Check out the Strathcona market on a Saturday which is just around the corner from the Hotel. Amazing food and produce. Highly recommend Hotel 🇨🇦👍🏻

Diana Athena Mittelsteadt: Walkability: Very central location on Whyte Ave.Food & drinks: Lot's of variety of food and drink in area.Noteworthy details: Appreciates the extra touches for guests. Umbrella, yoga mat, house coat etc..

Jennifer Kurek: These little things used to set your hotel apart from the others;it’s sad to see them go.Though, It is nice to see that you aren’t overcharging for valet parking since there really isn’t much for self parking.

Atian Moghimi: The staff were really kind and helpful, they offered us early check in at 2pm and late check out at 12pm which helped us a lot.The location was far away from downtown but great place to spend a day or two at the mall doing activities and shopping, we didn't even get bored.Family and I would definitely come back again ☺️

Darryl Toth: My 15yr old son and I just recently finished last weekend, a 5day, 4night stay.We had a blast, from the theme room to the true convenience of the hotel being right there at the West Edmonton Mall.We never left that mall, once for 5days.Everything was right there for our enjoyment. From the 2 mini golf courses, to the worlds largest indoor wave pool. Ice skating, all the major attractions and resturant row located on Bourbon Street were literally 10-12 min walk from the hotel lobby. It’s so worth the $$ to stay right on site.

Maria Fe Poloyapoy Alfar: Great service and food! Wonderful stay..However, may I please request for checking of your camera for our lost large brown luggage? I know it is not your bell boy's fault but we are just hoping it is just kept somewhere safe. Thank you and please email me for update. We checked out today instead of tomorrow.Nearby activities: Food, pool, bowling rides are very accessible

Ernie Albay: Was driving through Edmonton and needed a place to stay the night. We were traveling with a puppy and needed a pet friendly place to stay. They are available to accommodate us. They gave a food bowl and treats for the puply. Price was fair. Room was clean. Lots of clean towels. Bed is comfortable.Rooms: Pet friendly

Tanya Dissegna: . Cute little concession for treats. Free apple and lemon water and 24 hot chocolate/coffe/tea. Hot breakfast buffet also good. Good value!

shadyplay3r: Great staff, friendly service with a smile 😃And 👍 Great pricesWalkability: Many restaurants within walking distanceNoteworthy details: Exercise room and laundry and a basketball hoop

Ramy M.: The Home2 has been my second home on and off in the past 2 months because of my work. I have to say that service is absolutely beyond expectation and the staff pays special attention to my needs. Shout out to Paul who's always very attentive to details and always ready to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable ! The kitchenette which includes a fridge, microwave and dishwasher are really practical and I'm able to buy and make my own healthy food. They recently updated the Gym with a Peloton Bike ! Gym is always clean.Pool looks fun although I never swam yet. There's always families and kids in it.Would definitely recommend this hotel !

Anjan Mani: The bed sizes of King were small compared to a regular King. We noticed this when we stayed in the 3rd floor.2

Sherri Vegso: This hotel has everything and is super family friendly. The hotel beds are so comfortable and the rooms are large. The pool is great for kids as it has a huge water slide. There is free breakfast in the morning which is always great when traveling. The girl at the front desk is so friendly and helpful. I love how they are pet friendly as well so we have our cat in our room too.

Whitney Flanders: I drove all the way to Edmonton from High River and stayed at this hotel and the service was amazing and the rooms were great! My kids very much enjoyed the pool and when we asked for extra blankets it arrived in less than 5 minutes. The breakfast was also amazing! Love that it’s all included in the cost of the hotel! All in all i would stay there again.

Adrian Antichrist: Pool and hot tub were awesome, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had and the room was clean and spacious. Staff was excellent and super accommodating of our family and pets. Will definitely be back in the future!Rooms: Clean and spaciousSafety: Safe and family friendly hotelFood & drinks: Excellent breakfast

Blair Rath: , it perfect. Breakfast is include. There are lots of options and the staff are on top of refilling everything as it's getting low! We love Wingate and you will too!

Jessica Chaplin: This hotel was clean friendly and very fun to stay at. Their waterpark was a favourite for our kids. The rooms were comfortable slightly outdated but very clean. We appreciated the mini fridge and microwave in our rooms. The front desk staff and all the staff for that matter were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Great location with a timmies close by and close to WEM. The breakfast was great nice and convenient. We really enjoyed this hotel, and will be back soon!

Akiva Wawryk: Undie walks around tryna blend in wearing camo, shoes r to clean. Obvious cop and vending machine way to pricey

S. Ferdowski: My family and I spent three days at this hotel last week. We had a fantastic time accompanied with daily great breakfast and extremely polite staff. The front desk staff were very friendly and approachable. The cleaning staff were so helpful and polite. We highly recommend this hotel for any family headed to Edmonton.Rooms: Our room was very clean .Safety: My family and I felt very safe there.Walkability: The location was in walking distance to fast food restaurants.Food & drinks: The accommodation staff assisted us without any hesitations.Noteworthy details: The staff were extremely helpful.

Cruz J. Louis (Cruzin): Best Hotel for a 2 day meeting, my family enjoyed being here. We had a good night sleep everything was good, even especially when the make breakfast it’s the bombRooms: Rooms are very clean. Beware A/C is on full blastFood & drinks: Drinks are really good for breakfast

Silkk: Excellent location u herdme. Only a few mins drive to WEM. Amazing fast food restaurants nearby and liquor stores, dollar store etc. kingsway liquor store was very cheap. i hated the one way streets in this area made it kind of confusing to drive around. Breakfast ended at 930am however one day the waffles ran out at 9:10 am and was replaced with there hard as a rock pancakes. The rest of the breakfast was good especially the bacon and sausage it was tasty. Room was spacious however we had the 2 queen beds and unfortunately these rooms come with a bathtub and not a standup shower. I like standup showers much better. The washroom sink faucet was too close to the counter which causes the counter to get kind of flooded - bad design. Pool and hot tub were grrreeat like Tony the Tiger would say.

Dimitri S: Nice clean rooms, great staff, they help with extras in the room: fan or more pillows. The free breakfast is fantastic!!! Good stay, highly recommendedRooms: Clean and well laid out rooms. Nice beds

They accommodated my request to have 4 rooms all beside each other for my wedding guests and bridal party. They also allowed us to get a late check out at 1pm so me and my bridal party could finish getting ready. The pool, hot tub, and steam room were amazing as well! Will be back and would recommend!

Greg Johnston: Had a great staycation in downtown Edmonton. This hotel is very new, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed! Every staff person we interacted with was pleasant and friendly. The location is steps from Rogers Place and the Grand Villa Casino with lots of great restaurants and pubs nearby. The only issue is downtown Edmonton. The sidewalks and streets are in disrepair - cracked, uneven, generally poor condition. Also, lots of vagrants, vagabonds, and sketchy-looking folks - definitely areas I wouldn’t want to walk through after dark. Uber is our friend! So - great hotel, especially if attending an event at Rogers, but the City of Edmonton could pay some attention to the area.

Amir Safarkhah: WOW, such a great people. They accommodated our early arrival and late check out, they were helpful, nice and always available, and very kind and respectful. The most important part was that they prepared the room for our kids, set up a caravan tent and log fire inside the room as well as a stuffed animal for each kids. Lots of chocolates and candies and a very warm welcome notes. My kids were so overwhelmed and happy to see all these cares and kindness. My kids also received special coloured entry card for their stays.Buffet was great for breakfast and the menu almost cover any tastes. The afternoon snack was also great. The most important part was the staff that always ready to help.Rooms were nicely built and TVs working with any streams.Bed frames and furniture all are made from high end materials. However, the mattress were not very comfortable and I believe they should be replace with a new one.We enjoyed our short stay this long weekend and highly recommend this place.

Nathan Rosie: This hotel has gotta be the best hotel I’ve ever been to, it is located in a great part of Edmonton with easy access to a movie theatre, Rogers Place, the Fan Park, and lots of restaurants. The restaurants inside the hotel are amazing, and the service was incredible. The staff made sure your visit was perfect, I’ll definitely be back next time I have to stay in Edmonton.

William W: Stayed here to go to the airshow at Villeneuve Airport and West Edmonton Mall. Good location for visiting those spots. Rooms were clean. Only complaint was a slow bathroom drain. Staff were helpful. Can purchase Choice tickets from reception to use at the water park and save some money. Included breakfast was good. Good service when it wasn't busy but one day we got there during the rush so didn't get much help then.

Dolores Bennett: Celebrated our 50th Anniversary for Sunday Brunch at the Laronde with family. The Variety of Foods was outstanding. The staff are the cream of the crop, you receive only the best service in every way possible. This has always been the very best each and every time we have had the pleasure of enjoying a meal in the Laronde. Only at the Laronde will you meet wonderful, carring interesting, efficient, attentive experienced staff who know how to deliver such a top notch experience that will keep you coming back time after time !!!!!Such a memorable experience from the time you step off the elevator on the 24th floor and see our beautiful city of Edmonton and then continue to be pampered and entertained every minute you are there!!Food & drinks: You can expect to receive only the very best!!!!!

Angelo Blais: and enjoyed the complimentary early evening beverages and appetizers. Staff and service there was great. Our hotel room was really nice with an upgraded separate living room and king size bedroom. We did not get the chance to go to the revolving restaurant

Magda Hirian: Château Lacombe is just a very old and not very clean hotel. The location is not too bad but the price and the staff wasn't friendly. We booked by Internet and we asked for a king size bed as my husband had spinal cord surgery and when we arrived, they just let us know at the front desk that they have only queen size bed and we have an extra charge of $25.00 for the parking. It was late, around 1 am, we were tired and we decided to stay but the bed and the mattress were very uncomfortable. We bought some water on our way, we brought it up in the room to put it in the fridge and surprise, no fridge in our room, so we were drinking warm water and almost slept on the floor. We stayed there just one night and we were looking for another accommodation. We checked in very late and the next morning before 9 am the cleaning lady was knocking at our door to ask what time we'll leave. The check out was at noon so we didn't appreciate that we were waking up earlier than we thought. Anyways, we'll never go back there even if they are pet friendly... the only nice "thing" that happened to us at the Chateau was Don at the entrance who helped us out to the car and he was extremely kind and nice. He had a very cute French talking and we hope to meet him again in other circumstances. We wish him health and all the best. He was the only one at that hotel who knew what he was doing.

Martha Wiebe: UPDATE AND ADDED NOTE: September 3/2023…this hotel continues to amaze me. The breakfast has alllll the things!!! Including a yogurt bar…you gotta stay here.We stayed at Staybridge Suites West Edmonton this past weekend and we have found our new home away from home. The service was from check in to check out was wonderful. The rooms were quiet and when we asked for more towels we were always greeted with nothing but the best and happiest faces. The location is also so great! Everything you need is within a 10 minute drive. Breakfast is included and every room is spacious, and very clean. Each room comes with a full kitchen INCLUDING a dishwasher. Its totally bomb. And the rate was very reasonable in this day and age where it is hard to get a room for under $200/night. We stayed here as a couple as we came for the Luke Combs concert, but i will be staying here with my entire family the next time i visit Edmonton. Guaranteed.

Kait T: . The furniture and decor in our room was a bit dated, but really that is the only point to improve I can think of. There is a pool and fitness centre - I think this would be a fantastic option for families or individuals on a work trip.

Linda Posada: This hotel is nice, but the rooms could use some updates. When you go into the room, it feels like you're back in the 90's.Service is great, and the location is superb, very close to many amenities.Rooms: Very outdated.

Ryan Sgambaro: Overall this was a fantastic hotel. Staff were friendly, kids had a great time in the pool.

Brenda Faithful: I was assistant manager of a well known hotel years ago and wasn't impressed so walked away from that job. This Staybridge Hotel in my opinion is Excellent in many ways.First, Customer service is Excellent!Second, room appears clean, organized and glass shower doors with zero water spots. They have all toiletries except facial wash. So, you'll want to bring face cleanser.Third, the Free complimentary breakfast has everything you can imagine.Sausage, Mexican egg burrito looking tacos and hot sauce, fresh waffles you can make, cereal, yogurt with a big variety of fresh fruits and oats, fresh hard boiled eggs, cubed potatoes, breads and bagels, banana breads and muffins, cream cheese, fresh apples and oranges, coffee and non caffeine as well, hot water for tea, milk, a variety of juices. Now that's a big big complimentary breakfast with Great Service with tables to sit at and enjoy the morning.Pool, workout room and free laundry service ... just bring your soap. One night stay and will most definitely come back.Thank you for your Great Service and this review was worth my time. 😃

Steven Brown: Rooms: Great value, hotel is clean and you can't beat the price to come with a kitchenette.Noteworthy details: Very friendly staff at the front counter.

Melanie MacDonald: Overall a great hotel. Really nice breakfast layout, Social hour in the evening is also a nice touch but the couch in the room was VERY old and worn

Hiroshan Gunawardane: Great hotel, great staff. They have a pool and a gym. Free breakfast and Monday to Wednesday evening social from 5 to 7pm. The social event will give you one beer/wine ticket with unlimited snacks. Spent 11days, their free laundry helped to travel light. The location is very convenient for buses and other transport. Not very far from the West Edmonton Mall, which is the world second largest mall. The hotel is surrounded by a lot of restaurants and fast food outlets. A great place if you plan for a longer stay.

CaN-InD Music Wagon: Front desk staff are so good, friendly and helpful.Customer service and reservation centre are awesome… Pet friendly room with kitchen makes the suites special. Awesome features of swimming pool, 24*7 gym, wifi and complimentary buffet break bast.Room rates are comparatively law almost has 100 car parks and 4 disabled parking.

Betheiah Storheim (Beth): I didn't stay here, I was just there for a party for Folk Fest volunteers and performers. It was a good time. Alas, I was too zonked to stay very long. The hotel itself is always nice.

Hsin-Yu Chen: We love our stay here. Stayed here for total 4 days 3 nights. Everything was amazing and fabulous starts from the main entrance. There was welcome drink at the lobby. The doorman was very helpful and kind. Helped us with all our luggage and stuff to our room. The fragrance in the hotel was amazing. It was a smooth check-in experience and Brad was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and professional!!We traveled with a 11 months baby and a dog and requested to have a crib and to be in a pet friendly room, surprisingly they arranged everything nicely and still be able to provide a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe double queen room which made our stay AWESOME and more comfortable!! Not to mention our crawling baby definitely love the spacious room but also our giant puppy could sleep comfortably! The bed and pillow is definitely the best. We all sleep in deep. The downside of the room is that there’s always loud music in the midnight even though I’m from the 8th floor. Surprisingly there’s no microwave in the deluxe room. Received it after requesting it a few times. We had one breakfast at the restaurant on Saturday morning. The food was great but I could see the restaurant was understaffed. It would be good to assign at least two servers I guess.Theres a few downside in our entire stay was the housekeeping service. I requested to have a room tidy up with changing towels & trash while walking the dog on Saturday, which was our 3rd day. We left for an hour but it couldn’t be done. Only be able to grab fresh towels when we came back in the late night. And we can hear people talking & slamming their doors all the times from our room.Underground parking was small but we managed to find a space all the time! Very safe and convenient.Location was awesome. Generally We really enjoy the city view and the street view. The stay was one of the best in my life. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful.Would definitely return in the future!

Alyssia McCaw: We stayed at the Westin for volunteering at Folk Fest. We love within Edmonton so this was a lovely treat for a stay-cation. Everything was great, awesome food and fast room service! We will be coming back next year!Nearby activities: Lots of resturants, library and the museum is close!Walkability: In the heart of downtown so it's easy to get around.Food & drinks: Awesome food and drinks!

Leanne Stein: Super spot in the heart of downtown Edmonton with a friendly greeting of welcome to the westin. Enjoy your stay!Nearby activities: Stayed the week of Edmonton folk music festival 🎶💕👏

Anh Le: Old hotel but good location.

Ed T: Rooms: Old, in need of renovationNearby activities: DowntownWalkability: It’s downtown
