Spotlight Hiring Management: Absolutely outstanding restaurant. Every single visit is a great one. Food is outstanding and delicious every time. Best schnitzel and tartare in town! They offered me a warm cup of coffee and placed a menu in front of me.Across the room I met the gaze of a young man who told fortunes, I knew this because he approached me and asked me if I had two vowels in my name and 3 consonants. I said yes and he led me to his table.There he told me of my past, present and future with eerie accuracy and candor. It was then that he encouraged me to do something different to challenge the fate I had accepted And in that moment I became anew.I am giving Anthony from the Russian tea room a five star review for changing my life for the better.If you are cold, lost or bored. Ben West: A very calm, intimate atmosphere, nice and quiet great for a date night. Menu has lots of interesting options you won’t see many other places, but a few more common staples if you’re not feeling adventurous. Been a couple times now and haven’t tried anything I didn’t like. Try the dill pickle soup! Trust me. Staff are accommodating and friendly. The parking out front on Jasper is only $1.00/hour.Dietary restrictions: Look it up to double check because this doesn’t effect me, but my understanding is they’re gluten free as well which is awesome!

Dill pickle soup, smoked salmon, garlic shrimp, escargot, perogies ,chicken stroganoff, black forest cake and tiramisu. We wanted to try the rack of lamb, unfortunately it wasnt available that day.Last time i was in the space it was the hardware grill circa 2005/2006 ish; and the decor was nice and private. Claire Barton: We were in town from Toronto to visit dear friends. They took us to Continental Treat for dinner. We were blown away. Dinner was absolutely amazing. I had the French Onion Soup and the Chicken Schnitzel. Every bite was delicious. We finished with the dessert Pierogies. The service was equally as wonderful. It's been a few weeks, and we are still raving about it. We can't wait to come back.Dietary restrictions: Definitely a must visit if you are gluten-free. If you're not, then you're in for a real treat.

Matt Lemke: This place has amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The perogies are very good. The schnitzel was crispy and served with a delicious gravy. The attention to detail on all aspects of service and quality are not to be overlooked. The Belgian beers are obviously curated and the wine selection will not disappoint. Come visit, you will be pleased.
YEG.SELLS Edmonton: Delicious food, wine, excellent staff with a clean posh environment - but desert isn’t their specialty. I ordered the deep fried strawberry Nutella perogies, but they weren’t fried and reminded me of my toddler days when I ate play dough. Just don’t order dessert but definitely do dinner here - you won’t regret it!!!!
Tharun Bangera: I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the attentive service during my visit. However, I found the pricing of the food to be disproportionate to the quality offered. Additionally, the tiramisu dessert was quite underwhelming, as it lacked the expected smooth and airy texture. Instead, it appeared dry and overly sweet, resembling more of a cake than an authentic tiramisu.

LeeAnne Wojciechowski: The food here was excellent! Fresh and tasted great! Our server has short blonde hair, I forget her name but she was so kind and very attentive. I came here with my grandmother on Aug 24 around 11:10am, she got borscht and I had the crepe, cabbage rolls and meatballs.When we were paying, I hope that same server noticed I put 10$ in the tip jar for her, my grandmother put maybe 1.50$ because I told her I would put the bigger tip in. I'm just not sure the server noticed and mightve thought we only put the 1.50. Next time, I'll leave it on the table so she can see we appreciated her service allot. We'll definitely be back, the food was absolutely great!
Roy Eykelbosh: Have eaten here many times. The food is always excellent. I've had more ethnically correct Ukrainian food at events in Alberta towns with a history of Ukrainian immigrant settlement. Uncle Ed's is as close to the real Ukrainian deal as you'll find in ethnically diverse Edmonton. I had the meatballs dinner which was great and Judy had the cabbage roll 1/2 dinner. Both dinners had cabbage rolls, perogies, crepes, meatballs etc, just more meatballs on mine and more cabbage rolls on Judy's.The service was good, quick and homey casual.The restaurant is part of a restaurant/ethnic food store. I love the frozen borscht but they seem to have reduced the size since pre-covid. I bought two borscht to make up for the size reduction but miss my giant vat of borscht so I took away an atmosphere star.
Red Purse Reviews: This spot is the answer to Ukrainian food as Italian Centre is to Italian. Part shopping, part sit down, delicious meals. Also distribution for mundare sausages.As I was dining I couldn't help but notice this pink guitar. I couldn't read too far away and afterwards, I got up close and it was an auctioned for breast cancer fundraising. Still not sure which musician? Very community oriented and worthy cause.

It is specific and not for everyone. From the outside the building looks bad. It was raining that day and the walkway was all puddle, so my legs were all wet. We ordered kitfo to go, but were a little bit afraid to eat this dish with raw meat, so fried the meat. Was not bad. Louanne Dal Bello: I used to live in Edmonton and my friends and I were talking about our favourite restaurants. When I brought up Shumka, everyone agreed! I lived on Jasper Ave and had to take 3 buses to get there, but it was well worth it. Now I live in the US and it would be several more buses I'd have to take, but I'll tell ya what: it would be worth it. The food is delicious, abundant and fresh. Someone is using their Baba's recipes and it shows.
