They were working at a house in our neighbourhood and Dillon sent someone over to take pictures and measurements for a quote within minutes of me calling. He kept me updated as to when they would be able to start, they worked around the schedule of our irrigation company so that everything could be installed properly, they fixed the mess our previous landscapers had left. Marilyn Ardell: I recently had an unfortunate situation in which clay was delivered to my mother's driveway in error. This covered half the driveway and we were unable to get our vehicle out of the driveway. I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find who could of done this and looking for a resolution. My mother is a senior with health issues and the situation was completely baffling and disheartening. I was quoted upwards to $1,000 by other companies to clear this dirt. I reached out today to Deford Contracting and spoke to Steve, the Fleet Coordinator. He was extremely sympathetic to the situation even though this was NOT the responsibility of Deford Contracting or their doing. However to my amazement and my upmost gratitude, Steve and the owner, Carey DeFord said they would clear it at no $ cost. I burst into tears. There are a myriad of things the world could benefit from having more of. Kindness, compassion and exceptional generosity is one of many and I can say with 100% confidence that Deford Contracting is evidence that still exists. This was no small act of kindness, this was and is a HUGE relief to my mother and I. I cannot extend enough appreciation and gratitude for what this company has done for us. I am overwhelmed with thankfulness to Steve, Carey and the workers they sent, Rob and Todd. They went above and beyond in ensuring the driveway was completely cleared and illustrated such empathy, concern and kindness to the situation. He also assured us he could do work that others had suggested would cost a great deal more or couldn't be done.We set a date and both owners came to do the work. They did an excellent job, going the extra mile by helping us move a few heavy, awkward items which were not part of the job, but out of kindness.Our site is challenging as we have an uphill sloping lot, that rapidly rises from the alley. So the driveway angles upwards from east to west, as does the side grade of the garage.We wanted to share the space between our neighbors drive and ours, requiring another grading slope from south to north. Right in the middle was a big old stump.They handled all these challenges as the quote had stated. They removed the stump debris and finished on budget and within the timeframe quoted. What a pleasure to work with such honest, thoughtful, helpful young gentlemen. With this type of service we believe we were lucky to have found them before they are in huge demand. We can't recommend them more highly, given our long record of disappointments with various trades during the building of our garage/garden suite.We are so pleased to meet people who did what they said they would, went above our expectations, stayed on budget and finished within their timeline.They are a pleasure to work with. We wish them great success.
