4worldlovers: I have been teaching and playing drums professionally since 1981 including over 20 of years teaching at MacEwan University. My educational experience includes a Master of Arts degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York, a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University, and a Diploma in Jazz Performance from MacEwan University. I have studied privately with Joe Morello, Kenny Washington and Vernel Fournier.

While I play a variety of styles of music, most of what I’m playing currently is jazz. I’ve been fortunate to play with the likes of Ted Nash, Carlo Morena, Joe Fonda, PJ Perry, Tommy Banks, Bobby Cairns, Slide Hampton, Hugh Fraser, Andre White, Jim Head, John Taylor, Mike Rud, Julie Mahendran, the McDades, Möbius, and Don Bradshaw’s Big Idea.

I am a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association.

The 60th ‘Diamond’ Anniversary of Lillo’s Music! I created this graphic design in tribute to generations of Lillo family members who devoted much of their lives to the music industry, to hundreds of people who chose a career in music through Lillo’s Music and its subsidiaries, to thousands of music school students, to hundreds of thousands of retail customers and friends. The Lillo family name has become synonymous with music in Canada and abroad thanks to the support from the music community over the past six decades. The multiple retail locations and other music ventures have mostly come and gone, with the original store in Edmonton, Canada finally closing its storefront on December 31, 2019. Today, Lillo’s Music retails products online and offers virtual and in-person music instruction, instrument repair, and a by-appointment-only store. We understand that learning music can be difficult and provide students with the tools necessary to succeed and feel supported in their musical journey.

We are a small studio, located in a residential area. Our building has been equipped with an air filtration system which includes a HEPA filter and UV-C light and the air in the house is exchanged every 30 minutes. In addition, each teaching space has been equipped with an air purifier with a HEPA filter and UV-C light as well as a plexiglass shield placed between the student and teacher. There are a limited number of people allowed into the studio on a daily basis.
