A Person: I can't believe I didn't review these guys sooner, because I want to let it be known that if you're like me, trying to support local businesses, you really can't go wrong with Meathead. It's not even about what they sell to me, it's that they make the effort to endear themselves to the community.Now I hadn't been here in quite a while, so when I had a day off from work, I decided to stop by for their customer appreciation BBQ. The people who manned the grill were very welcoming and laid back, and seemed quite happy to be able to bring people together. The burgers and smokies were delicious, and I had a good helping of both. One of the folks manning the grill was talking about his line of BBQ sauces, Mickey Jays. Liquid Gold was the sauce they used in particular on the food, and man-oh-man, that stuff was SO good, that before I left for home, I went inside the store and picked me up two bottles, as well as a few extras. The service at checkout was just as welcoming, and it was the highlight of my day for sure. I'll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the Mickey Jays line, as well as some other goodies, too. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.Thank you, Meathead!

I also like their freezer where the meat is priced 20% off. Great for looking for more budget friendly pieces of meat. I will certainly be back in the future!

Serena Wagner: This is hands down my favorite meat shop in the city. They have an enormous selection of aged and butchered meats, including occasional unusual cuts such as tongue and cheek. Huge shout out to the manager, Jared, who knows the products inside and out and has a commendable wealth of knowledge about the cuts and how to prepare them. Their steaks are fabulous and extraordinary quality, as is their house-made pastrami and liver pate. We have done taste tests between them and other butchers in the city and they also stand head and shoulders above others for the quality of the meat. Their breads are always fresh-baked and stellar. It's not the cheapest place to get meat in the city, but here you really do get what you pay for.

Gary O: The cost/quality ratio of their sandwiches is insanely good. I recently spent $9 on a giant sandwich with house made bread and mortadella. I don’t know how they are able to keep the price that low but it is very appreciated.Although this is an upscale store, prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of the product. When it comes to every day items, such as ground beef, it is comparable to a grocery store, but the quality is so noticeably better I can’t justify buying ground beef elsewhere now.

Josh Fedorchuk: Great quality and many of the prices are acceptable, however, my wife brought me home a piece of pepperoni today that was $10 for a single piece priced at $70 per kilogram I seemed a little bit steep to me as the best beef jerky I can get my hands on from wilhawks is 88 per kg beef is more expensive than pork and jerky dries out far more than what is used to make pepperoni

MCB385: I actually went there to pick up eggs but that's another story. It's a large clean space with well displayed food. Picked up some beef osso bucco and almost gave in to beef and pork fat but my arteries complained. They have some interesting looking sausages and I picked up bison pepperoni which was a bit dry with a texture that's almost liverlike but there was a nice spice hit in the spicey. I have some jerky but haven't tried it yet. It's a bit expensive but the meat is all local and looks good so I don't mind paying a bit more sometimes. Will I go back? Maybe but it is a pain yo get to.
