Patrick: and the disparity of drink flavour between the employees is sometimes massive. We’ve noticed this especially with the chocolate-based drinks. One employee could make the most delicious drink, whereas another might give you a tasteless milky mess instead. It’s a strange phenomenon.The lengths between my excitement when I see the two or three people working that I know do a great job and my disappointment when it’s anyone else is huge. I think better quality control for those other employees would really help and would make me want to visit even more frequently. We don’t live super close by, so it’s always disappointing for us when we arrive after a long drive and get a bad drink when it had the potential to be great if someone else had made it.
Mr. N: We just opened our new shop in the neighbourhood and stopped in. Super pleasant folks, great prices and baked goods and they use REAL quality chocolate in everything, no cheap syrups here. Hands down one of the best coffees I've had. They also have a cool boutique of local artists goodies!Awesome all around.
XH: Definitely a new concept to me for a cafe to specialize in both coffee and chocolate. Well-pulled espresso shots and great selections of chocolate mix so well. To-go chocolate bags are also great. Tried the iced mocha and will definitely need to return at some point to try the hot chocolate too.
jwklz L: We, along with our friends, visited Ch. Cafeteria for the first time today. We enjoyed Cafe Olla, spicy, but not too spicy, and a flavourful black coffee. All were perfect as were the chocolate cake, the banana nut chocolate cake and the hazelnut cookie with chocolate chips. Yummy! We relaxed on cozy comfy seating and we spent a good portion of time enjoying the ambience of this delightful place. We'll definitely be back.Parking: Parked on the side street directly opposite the cafe.
ForecastZero: Unsurprisingly, their milk chocolate and white chocolate mocha is phenomenal. Definitely need to go back to try their mint and hazelnut mocha.Haven't had the opportunity to try anything from their food menu, but did try their banana bread. It was great, but definitely prefer it more without the nuts.The seating/retail area can get quite lively on the weekends.

Candice Marie: The perfect sandwich spot! Whenever I'm in the area, I need to stop by Cafe Rista to grab a bite and some caffeine! Simon makes the most delicious sandwiches and wraps. They regularly offer different special items, I particularly like how there is also a new drink on the menu.I've always had a pleasant experience at Rista!!

Joe: This is typically my go to Cafe if I want to sit down and just read a book. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and warm. The food comes in a variety that serves different dietary needs. The ambient music isn't overwhelming and if it isn't to your liking, it isn't loud enough to drown out your own music. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

If you find yourself downtown near Churchill and have some time to spare, bring your hunger, and satisfy it at the Hallway Cafe.

Eugenia M: In my humble opinion, this is one of the best and cutest cafes in Edmonton.Absolutely love their interior! Cute Parisian vibes, little piece of France in the middle of Edmonton.The desserts are great too, haven’t tried their breakfast options, however, I’ve read that their breakfast is very good, will definitely be back.Parking: Small busy plaza, sometimes not too many parking spots available.
Jihaad mahammoodally: Went here for for breakfast today, ordered the scrambled egg croissant and it was out of this world delicious! After the scrambled egg croissant I could not get enough, went back again for lunch and ordered the Smoked salmon croissant and it just left me speechless, the presentation and the hard work that goes behind every item on their menu is 100% worth the price. Customer service was incredible, they keep you accommodated and wont rush you. Ive been to many food spots in YEG but this cafe for sure holds the golden medal overall 🏾

I stick to standard espresso drinks because complicated fru fru drinks are for the pedantic.The atmosphere is very nice but it's sullied by dirty chairs and wobbly tables and inconsistent music where some songs fit the style of the place and others just feel so odd.The back of the counter is nice and clean. Customer area needs a bit of focus.Fix the tables. Mend the walls. Clean clean clean.Service. I'm a heavy tipper. And in exchange I expect above an beyond service. I am also a regular customer.The biggest issue with any front end staff in any restaurant will always be consistency of service.This restaurant staff needs to work on their welcome smiles and personable warmth as it applies to consistency. A warm welcome "hello, it's lovely to see you" goes a long way. This is a lovely place where you are selling wants and little moments of joy. Showing gratitude and happiness will simply bring in more business and heavier tips.When it's busy, some of the bakers should be trained in coffee and help out the front end even just a little bit. Show unity in working shoulder to shoulder.I will say there's two ladies that have wonderful beautiful welcoming smiles on very consistent basis.
Farah A: Absolute love. Their staff are so lovely. We sat indoors but you can choose to sit outdoors. You will need to order at the counter though, I chose the lobster and crab benedict, friend chose avo toast. Food was FANTASTIC. Vibes were FANTASTIC. COFFEE WAS EXCELLENT. the dessert were moderate tbh, but the experience was great, we were there 3 hrs and only left cause parking maxed out lol.Will be back!

Jim Zaiter: Edited in Aug 2023: Customer Service has always been an issue in this establishment. If you come in Friday pm, Saturday or Sunday, expect delays and be patient. Can’t perform when they’re busy.2019 review: This café is located in a French-Canadian neighborhood in Edmonton. It has nice decor/ambiance and serves good food/drinks. But you feel an unfriendly vibe if you don't speak French. I am fluent in French, and I tested my theory, repeatedly, by coming-in as an English speaking customer then alternate as French speaking customer another time. I get better service in French.
Kristie Wiwad: They have an excellent flat white and great atmosphere.
Heather Aggus: . The mimosas should have been promptly brought out after that, but no, we waited an additional 10-15 minutes. Also, coffees took forever to arrive and were not refilled. At $3-$3.50 a coffee, that was pretty disappointing, especially considering we were there for over an hour and a half. 3.5/5 but I can't give half stars.

Karina Dunn: If you love chocolate and caramel, make sure you get yourself the Inka cake. It's like a Twix and a Ferror Roche had a baby on a cake 🤤 just the perfect balance of caramel sweetness to cakey goodness and chocolatey coating with some crunch. My London fog was also totally delicious and I love the large serving size. The atmosphere is just cozy right too. Plus lots of seating to choose from! A great place to spend an hour with my book this afternoon.

Sam Torres: Been going here for years. The coffee is great, the pastrys are really good and the fact that it sit within a climbing gym is amazing. You can get a climb in and get a beer afterwards! A gem for sure.Wheelchair accessibility: One door in the patio has a ramp.
